Persona 5 and persona 5 royal has a shit ton of it. I actually like the unused will seed cutscenes...just adds a tiny bit more backstory to the villains you are going after in the palaces. I actually liked kamoshida's.

I guess they were removed because atlus thought it added too much dialogue for the dungeons theirselves or something.

I always have way too much pride to drop the difficulty (went on hard right from the start because fuckit, I played base persona 5, I gots this!)...I was determined to kick that dude's ass, lol. What I did was just warped back to the velvet room, fused something real quick with some sort of status effect, and made sure I put on the defense up for all and attack up for all accesories on haru and whoever I was using, I forgot (don't remember if my makoto actually learned her's naturally at this point). Then it was just a matter of defense downing all the robots, attack up'ing the party, occasionally using forget on the enemy party, and praying I can kill the line before one enemy robot decides to randomly run off and reset that line......this is that shit that kept grinding my gears.

Real talk though, playing on hard right from the start on royal actually caught me slipping a few times....lost to kamoshida twice, that damn thing guarding the 3rd will seed in madarame's palace like 3 times (sleeping on status effects again. He kept wiping me with brainwash and psy combos, so I had to slap rage on him to keep him from doing that shit), and okumura twice. It definitely got better from there though.

....not going to front though, I did drop the difficulty from the hardest setting to the game's "normal" for resident evil 2 remake though on the night it first released. Holy shit I could NOT get past that first gas-station zombie before I said "you know what, lets just play on normal for now and see where it goes", lol.

God damn that boss was annoying. I had to make a persona just to deal with one of the phases, and basically needed to switch party members between phases to manage the debuffs.

Yep. This was the boss I was talking about in my last post. Pretty sure this one most likely clapped all of us that went into this fight for the first time, and also was not using any of the busted dlc personas. (Even more so those of us that already played and finished the base game. I came up in this fight thinking its probably going to be similar (a.k.a. easy) to the base game's version of the fight and was in for a rude awakening).

My one lost was misarable since it was a dragged-out war of attrition. Spent 30 minutes in the fight struggling to make it past one of the last giant rows of robos with the personas I had, going through tons of consumables, and still ended up losing that one fight, lmao.

TC, don't forget, if you are up against a tough enemy that is strong, immune, and/or reflects the main methods of damage (mainly physical attacks), status effects and technical damage is the way to go.

I don't know if you passed this part already, but the mini boss protecting the last will seed in the second palace is going to be a wake up call for dudes who have been neglecting using status effects.

*Real talk, I sometimes watch the trending persona 5 royal streams via the ps5's main menu (or through live on playstation when I used to be on my ps4 like that) out of curiosity, and I caught a stream of this dude fighting this exact mini-boss I'm talking about.....its amazing how many times this dude got game over from the brainwash to party-wide psy damage combo and them never thinking to use status effects and technical hits to deal with the problem. They had to have got game over about 20 or so times in a row before they sort of brute-forced a win by using practically all their rare consumables instead of using the one status effect that could have trivilized that fight. (and they definitely had the persona in their party for this status effect, lol).

Whoever does not learn to finer details of status effects, and support buffs and debuffs will NOT have a good time with palace 5's boss fight in royal.

Being in south carolina, we have had bojangles for years. For me and pretty much everyone I know, we have always agreed that the main reason you go there is for their biscuits. Their biscuits pretty much craps on everyone else's fast food-wise, and the thing about them is that you can get their breakfast menu at any time of day.

Imo, the best item to get is a spicy cajun filet biscuit, and you can tell them to add a eggs, cheese, and bacon to it. Get that, or a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit.

Also, their bo-berry biscuits is extremely good, and people is known to get fat off of those. Get them in moderation, lol.


The smallest order comes with two, but you can get a half-dozen or a dozen of those sons of bitches. The trays come slathered with that icing, so yeah....don't be fat and eat too many of those.

Well I guess there's a positive for having a brick and mortar store when you wanna play a game day 1.

My brick and mortar store that I regularly get games from is the one that did not have the game day 1 like they were supposed to. =/

*The vast majority of us that pre-ordered from gamestop got screwed...they ended up not having the game because it did not leave the warehouse they ship shit from in time, so regular editions, deluxe editions, etc., none of that is coming until monday supposedly.*

Yeah, yeah, I know, gamestop sucks and blahblahblah, but this is the first time I have had a late game when it comes to a physical copy that I pick up from the store myself from them like this in shit, over 10 years or so.

...actually, I can't really remember having a situation where its like "well shit, game is not here. Come back next week" ever, besides this Ys monstrum nox situation where no stores period had the physical copy of this game for like the first two days.

It all depends on the game for me. In tales of games, the odds of winning at poker feels pretty high. (With the exception of the ps2 port of tales of symphonia/symphonia chronicles)...poker was on some ol' bullshit in symphonia, but its pretty easy to win in abyss, vesperia and xillia 2.

Out of all the resident evil main and spin-off games that gets ported (not counting the crap no one cares about like operation raccoon city, survivor, the one umbrella multiplayer game etc.), outbreak files 1 and 2 are for some weird-ass reason the RE games capcom just refuses to port despite these games having a decent sized fanbase that would make a quick and dirty port worth it. Even resident evil 6 and more niche stuff like revelations 1 and 2 can get ports man, =/ lol.

I also read somewhere there's a confidant I want to hoard cash for and get up as soon as reasonably possible <_< I promise I haven't been going around reading too much tips or spoilers lol.

This confidant is no doubt the fortune confidant. You need 100,000 yen to start this one off.

Fortune was more important in the base persona 5 since there wasn't nowhere near as many social stat and confidant stat boosts available in it compared to royal, but they are still extremely valuable, so that tip was right to prioritize them, lol. With fortune, you can double the money you earn with all out attacks, boost the rate in which your social stats level up, and boost the rate in which you confidant levels up.

In my opinion, fortune, temperance, and sun are the confidants you should totally drop everything for and level them up asap because they got those valuable confidant skills. With temperance, they eventually give you the ability to act again at night when coming back from a palace or mementos, but all of their confidant skills is stupid good.

Also remember that sun is only available on sundays, so you should prioritize them like every single time a sunday comes around. (You also do not need to bring a matching persona for them or the moon confidant....or even worry about giving them the right answers. They level up automatically everytime you hang with them).

If you don't care about who the confidants are spoilers, then you can go ahead and read this: Fortune is a fortune teller chick in shinjuku, sun is the polititian guy you see at the station square, and temperance is the teacher maid you will eventually meet as part of the story. Both fortune teller and the teacher maid got those crazy good skills that is good through the entire game (the teacher gets you more free time for reading and whatever else during school hours, she can make coffee or curry for you without you having to waste time and do it yourself, AND she can wash clothes for you at the laundry mat. She goes above and beyond for you, lol), and the politician dude's skills is also pretty good because his let you get way more money and rarer items when you hold up shadows. Hell his ultimate skill at rank 10 is the ability to recruit any enemy shadow no matter the level limit.

Also, make sure you max out the confidant levels for the councilor, faith (kasumi), and justice confidants. You want these maxed out to get to the true end game of persona 5 royal. If these are not maxed before a certain date, then you will just get the old ending from regular persona 5.

Hell no. Living in south carolina, I cannot stand the tropical storms we get every year in the summer on the regular. The power lines in my neighborhood is also extremely ancient, and all it takes is someone farting too hard to knock out the power for up to a hour and a half, let alone a basic thunderstorm. Extreme boredrom sets in when the weather decides it wants to storm two times a day for a goddamn week and a half straight. (With the power constantly flickering on and off, so its not a good idea to hop on the PC or a game console during this time since the flickering power can do some damage). At least nowadays we have smartphones, but god damn was this shit annoying when I was a kid growing up in the 90s.

Speaking of game consoles, the PS5 does NOT like being shutdown without manually powering it off. I have had a PS5 since day 1, and in that time I have had 4 different situations in which the power cut off for a quick second and my PS5 having been on or in rest mode at the time. The first three times it was no big deal...a quick check on the external hdd and the system is up and running in like 5 minutes tops. The 4th time my house got hit with a bad power outage via strong winds and that lasted for like an hour...when the outage happened, my PS5 was on at the time trimming a video clip from my media gallery. I'm not sure on exactly what happened, but when I cut my PS5 on, the firmware itself got screwed up, and it constantly booted in safe mode only, with the only single option to pick being option 7...a complete format of the PS5, with even the basic system firmware needing to be downloaded off the internet and to be put on a usb device so the PS5 can install that too.

...after doing some reading, I managed to find a way to get the PS5 to boot in safe mode and get option 6, still a complete reformat but at least you do not have to reinstall the basic firmware. I have tried every single option that was available, but I had no choice but to do a reformat of the PS5. I lost all my media gallery and save data things, but I at least backed up my saves on the regular so I was able to redownload the saves no problem, but yeah....you don't want to try to play the PS5 in a situation in which you can potentially have power outages. I am NOT looking forward to those summer thunderstorms, =/

Regular rain sounds can be relaxing though, I agree with that at least.

The thing with a lot of the good ps plus games is that I have already owned them for months/years, lol. Enter the gungeon was fun as hell, and I used to play that one on online co-op with my boy via the PS4's shareplay function. (Real talk, shareplay is such a underrated feature. I'm glad it stuck around and actually feels better to use on the PS5).

I'll get up on this subnautica game though since I actually never got around to buying it.

Yeah, I got them. I also made some lockpicks for the chests I couldn't loot. I think I took the boss on at level 9, went to 11 after I beat him. Maybe there are some personas I missed, but I'm not going to worry about missables in such a huge game, especially when it has a NG+ option.

There isn't any missable personas, so you don't have to worry about filling out the entire compendium. There is this area in the game that you should be shortly introduced to called mementos where all of the personas that showed up in a palace will show up in there also. Each section of mementos that you will unlock throughout the game is basically the previous palace you have just beaten, so any persona you did not manage to negotiate with or fuse to will be able to be gotten in mementos.

Off the top of my head, the only two things that are missable is a palace's locked treasure chests and a palace's will seeds. If for whatever reason you do not have enough lockpicks to get all of the locked chests when you first are exploring the palace, you can usually use the time when you are sending the calling card to make tools. (you said you already made some so you should be good to go).

There is also another minor missable thing that may or may not be a big deal...its this area called the jazz club, and you go there to teach your party member skills they normally do not get on their own/never are capable of getting in the base game persona 5. I didn't use the jazz club a lot myself, but there is three really damn good moves you can give to certain party members via the club,

*Minor party member spoilers, so don't read this if you don't want to know who joins your squad in the 3rd palace* Using the jazz club, you can teach yusuke this move charge, makoto this move concentrate, and morgana this move debilitate....these moves imo are really damn good on these characters, and I can't remember if you can actually miss these moves or not since the jazz club's teachable moves rotate in and out.

Finished the first palace yesterday. Pretty fun stuff, cool boss. I have a few days left until the deadline, so I'm just doing whatever I feel like (with some emphasis on guts to try to get the clinical trials going). I'm just trying different stuff out mostly before I really start to prioritize what I do. But the setup for this have is cool, even if it is laden with anime logic lol.

Did you remember to find all 3 will seeds in the first palace? Those will seed accesories are pretty useful, so try not to miss any of those for each palace.

So I think I know what fucked up my persona 1 playthrough: I basically never fused personas because I thought they were like Pokemon. But apparently the early ones are meant to be fused/dropped because they suck lol.

At least in royal, you do have options to use higher level different variations of arsene if you really like his design and whatnot.

You will be totally fine just fusing whatever as you go through the game. Just make sure you at least have 1 persona of every arcana available to summon via the compedium....once you start building up your confidant levels, you want to bring a matching persona to the person you are hanging out with so the confidant levels up faster. I do remember rocking that persona cait sith in the first palace...he is pretty good for that level range.

Well don't be like me and grind your Personas to level 99 in the mementos at the endgame. Literally didn't fight a single Persona in the final palace as I instant kill everything. Felt bad too since I spent hours working on fusions to get the the move-sets and resistance right, and I didn't get to use them.

Yeah, persona 5 is def easy enough to where going for the perfect min-maxed personas and bothering to get them to max level is extremely overkill. I've been pretty much winging it and using whatever fusions I came up with, just making sure to pass along the most skills I use the most as I go up.

I did accidentally came up with this raphael that is like, beyond stupid good. I probably don't even need to bother with yoshitsune with royal since this raphael has just been wrecking everything in sight with the ability to use all ambushed spells and passives whenever. mainly that thermophylae move and adverse resolve always being active:

The game also gave me a satan through network fusion (that I am thinking of getting rid of just because I really don't need a level 97 persona for where I'm at). That, combined with the alice I made, I think I'll limit to way too strong for my level stuff to those.



Speaking of difficulty, in my opinion TC hard is the perfect one to play. Palace 1 and a certain fight in palace 2 is going to be pretty damn rough on a fresh new game, but with proper weakness and technical hit usage (technical hits is stuff like putting enemies to sleep, and then hitting them with a physical move, or putting the brainwash status on enemies and hitting with with a psychokinesis move, etc.) its pretty fair imo.

Oh yeah, I am pretty much drained after that long-ass stretch from post palace 6 to the entirety of the palace 7 scenario. Its taking all I have just to finish up the mementos depths dungeon, lol.

I love all of royal's additions overall, but man earning way, way more money in general (especially with ryuji's improved insta-kill) is so damn busted. I've been creating high level personals way above my level range during palace 7 because why the fuck not right, they gave us all this money now. Definitely be prepared to put some hours into the game...its a long one.

I got the plat for the base persona 5 a few months ago, and I'm just recently got started on playing through royal...over 180 hours on the clock and I just recently got into the final dungeon of base persona 5, with the royal stuff being after this.

Because of royal's additions, some party members got vastly improved over their base game selfs...mainly yusuke. God damn I didn't know I needed a charge capable yusuke until royal gave it to me, lol.

It all depends on the people that you live with, whether they are currently working or retired, whether some is on disability theirselves etc. The extra money some get is intended to help with the bills in the house. Also, you will get a little bit more if you are paying for your own food and whatnot. (They usually ask this question when you first apply for benefits, so if you actually are buying your own food then you would have to schedule an appointment and update them on your situation).

I get both SSA and SSI, and I got my stimulus at 2 am on the 17th.

Both of my parents haven't gotten theirs yet, along with my uncle, so there are those who are still waiting also.

Its just a lockbox I keep so I can have a bit of cash on hand. I put a good bit of money away so I only have it for emergencies or whatever.

That, and I am on disability. I'm not sure if its like this for other states or whatever, all I know is that in SC they do not like if I have around 2,400 dollars or so just sitting in the bank since I'm on SSI and SSA...they consider that a excess of funds or whatever. If I get a huge chunk of money deposited, like with SSA backpayments I got awhile back or these stimulus checks, I withdraw the vast majority of it and just put it away...either that, or spend a good chunk of it.

Its in my bank account. I was going to withdraw the vast majority of it to put it away in my savings, but then I thought about how packed it most likely is at the bank today...packed full of people probably not wearing masks (I'm in SC, and a lot of people is already trying to remove their masks and whatnot)....I will probably wait a day or two before I go to the bank, lol.
