how? you outright said everyone isn't always going to be racist which is a pretty surprising statement to a lot of people. so the obvious question is "what will it look like when everyone's not
I did not say that though. I said this:

"society is racist and that societal racism has an effect on the people raised in society" is not the same as "everyone is always going to be racist"

because a lot of people think woke liberals are already acting pretty appallingly right now, it's pretty important to know what your end goal is don't you think?
I don't know and I don't care. I'm not interested in talking about end goals right now.

so you're not willing to respond to good faith questions from a stranger but you are willing to tell people to fuck off or call them racist, hmmm
I do not believe for a second that your question was actually in good faith. that's your fault.

i don't understand the aggression
I'm not asking you to. your question was either disingenuous or stupid. and in either case it contributed nothing to the conversation

what the end-goal of ending racism looks like is a perfectly rational question to the statement that racism isn't a perennial part of human nature that we're all capable of, but instead something that can be definitively eliminated
that may be true in a vacuum, but there's a lot of other dumb shit being said in this topic. my aggression is perfectly reasonable.

also: "racism isn't a perennial part of human nature" is not mutually exclusive with "we are all capable of being racist"

racism not being an inherent part of human nature also does not necessarily mean that it can be definitively eliminated. it's a completely different question.

how we might go about eliminating racism, and what a hypothetical society without racism might look like in the future, are also separate questions. I have thought about all these questions. I have read other peoples' thoughts on them too. I have some ideas on how to answer them. but I am not interested in discussing them (particularly the latter two) on CE in a topic like this with someone who does not show a good understanding of the earlier questions

they really focused too much on the informant. Fred Hampton was the more interesting character, and the movie was clearly about him (since it ends when he dies), but the pretense was that it was about the informant.

if you want to tell a story about Fred Hampton and the Black Panthers that paints the FBI in a negative light, all you have to do is, you know, actually tell the story of Fred Hampton and the Black Panthers

All those things literally say being "not racist" is impossible and is a cover for racism.
they're saying the latter, but not the former

It is literally saying it is impossible to be "not racist"
no, it literally is not

It argues you can only be racist or anti-racist and anti-racist still frames things through the lens of racial discrimination.
it's pretty clearly talking about the way "not racist" gets used in reality, not the term itself in the abstract

The book would reject the goal of working towards a post-racist or post-racial society where everybody is treated equally.
I'm all in favour of a Death of the Author approach, but this is extrapolation with no evidence. it's straight-up Weekend At Bernie's of the Author

It's not saying "don't judge people by the color of their skin." It's saying "judge people by the color of their skin, but in the opposite way a racist would."
where is it saying that?

No the book says you can't be "not racist".

Quotes:
* There is no in-between safe space of not racist.
* Whats the problem with being not racist? It is a claim that signifies neutrality: I am not a racist, but neither am I aggressively against racism.
* There is no neutrality in the racism struggle. The opposite of racist isnt not racist. It is antiracist.
* The claim of not racist neutrality is a mask for racism.
the evidence you've chosen does not actually demonstrate your claim

Lol so are you mad that comic movies are over saturated or that they make a ton of money? Because western movies were demonstrably saturated the industry more than these comic movies could ever hope to be and a good majority of them were garbage soulless movies made by committee to appease to brain dead moviegoers. We're arguing like 3 different things right here and for some reason you're focusing on the money, which is proof that this super hero fatigue isn't hitting any time soon.
some questions:
were all (or almost all) of the westerns produced by a single gigantic media conglomerate?
were theatres forced to screen movies from said gigantic media conglomerate to stay afloat?
did said gigantic media conglomerate have, as part of the rights for screening their films, a minimum number of times that their new western be screened in order for theatres to be allowed to screen it at all (thus forcing the theatre to not screen potential competitors)?

in other words, was the "oversaturation" of westerns actively stifling the creation and screening of films that were not westerns?
