dude, I'm a professional jazz musician. there were a couple albums of his that I listened to obsessively throughout high school. I know every note of every part in every song on Sinatra at the Sands. I guarantee I've spent more time listening to him than pretty much anyone on this board. (if you count only active listening, then I'm 100% positive)

he was a good singer. most of his music is corny as fuck and not good

France has been writing laws for what is functionally a ban on Halal food. it will pass in about 2 months.

the senate also just voted to prohibit women under 18 from wearing a hijab in public, and to prohibit muslim mothers wearing a hijab from going on school field trips.

it's very clear that they're trying to prevent muslims from existing within the country

I ctrl+f searched for "China"
first 5 pages: 16 results (cumulative)

then I did the same thing for "France"
first 5 pages: 1 result (cumulative)

this suggests that people are very interested in islamophobia from China, and much less interested in islamophobia from France.

interesting. I wonder why that could be.

Why though?
Is there some belief that if landlords ceased to exist everyone would own their own house?

Renting is cheaper than buying a whole house, that is why this exists in the first place.
Like the guy whining about landlords treating housing as investments, renting is similar in that you pay less up front but more over time.
It is hypcorisy to hate one part of the game and not the other.
please quote something that you interpreted as "whining" @WingsOfGood

No one made the renter sign and agree to pay. The renter chose to do so.

Signing a contract that you will pay when you don't know if you will have money to in the future is a risk. You are ok with violating that contract to protect a renter. So saying the landlords lost is hypocrisy. Say what you really think.
I think that, if landlords want to treat housing as an investment, they should be required to accept the risk that comes with that

the system already favours landlords 99% of the time. they don't need my pity

It absolutely is as can be evidenced by the person in the video I posted. He's a general contractor and does product reviews for construction stuff on youtube.
last I checked, that is not a prerequisite for being a landlord. the position itself is not a job.

Maybe in your world all landlords are mustache twirling scumbags who do nohting but sit around all day in their mansions while demanding rent from out of work single mothers, but that is not in line with reality.
cool. please try engaging with the actual things I said instead of making stuff up

Wealth isnt and never will be a fixed pie, an Indian person living in India getting a job in India wasnt at the expense of an American citizen living in the United States. An immigrant on a work visa in the United States didnt get a job at the expense of an American. A billionaire generating higher wealth internationally through globalization by producing and creating billions of services and jobs for the planet didnt come at the expense of a deadbeat twenty-something year old kid living in their parents basement reading crap off of Jacobin or RT that doesnt do shit with their lives.

i don't really remember ever sympathizing much with tankies and communism at large. if you're asking what changed to make me wary of certain leftists it was probably the primaries last year and the fallout from it. the bernie or bust crowd completely repulsed me and made me reconsider a lot of things about political action and pragmatism and I realized a lot of those people operated entirely on spite, which is precisely what disgusted me about Republicans.
this is part of why "tankie" isn't useful as a descriptive term. you're literally using the term to refer to Bernie Sanders supporters

Wealth is produced by creating intellectual and physical goods that fullfeed a need (extra needs can always be created through marketing). Physical goods are limited by the volume of ressources we can extract from the planet. Since intellectual goods mostly require time and brainpower we could consider it the to be infinite source of wealth. But then again most of the population is not very smart, there's probably cap on the need for intellectual goods.
I'm not sure what you're counting as an "intellectual good" here, but time and brainpower are also finite resources

People considered to be in poverty today in the United States are living better and richer than the wealthiest monarchs of ages ago lol.
your first point is tenuous and your second point is flat-out incorrect. but even if both of them were 100% accurate, that still would not contradict the idea that wealth is finite.

money is based on control or ownership of resources. the amount of resources that we have on earth is finite. so unless you're talking exclusively about numbers on a screen, that wealth is finite as well
