How many Republicans would you vote for over Joe Biden?

Because I can tell you personally my answer is 0.

Me voting libertarian as a show vote over the democrat which is exactly what I did in 2016 still nets you -1 vote.

Based on polling Ive seen, Id estimate around 5-10% of the current Democratic Party is former disgruntled conservatives. You cant lose that slice of the pie and still win. The margins were too close

Sunroof isn't wrong. Ive also toyed with the idea.

The problem being that oftentimes the thing causing the stock going up is volume related, so even if you did know its not certain you could just put infinite money into it which probably stops hedge funds from really going all in.

Sure was fun living through the novel experience of Democrats controlling literally anything! Can't wait for the next decade of Republican electoral dominance.

Fucking morons.

This is assuming Republicans will storm back, which with the current political landscape I dont know if that is necessarily likely.

Its a dangerous game, but also why I think DC statehood is the only major policy change they should go for even if the flilibuster was gone. You dont want republicans to become enraged, swoop in and destroy the country which is a legitimate possibility if you turn off independents.

If you can create Medicare for all with a 50 vote majority you can destroy it with a 50 vote majority. Demographics are on your side as the country gets less white.

the example of "dictator bernie sanders" is a bit ridiculous though because Bernie Sanders would never want to be a dictator. I think a lot of the reason people in this topic have spoken positively about "dictator Bernie Sanders" is that they don't think he is the power hungry type, so they feel more comfortable with him in the role than someone who would be.

Which is my point exactly. I think the difference in my politics versus most of the board is I read DICTATOR berniesanders while others read dictator BERNIESANDERS

ahhh yes the hypocrisy.

Don't trust people in power, but trust people in power to take care of their workers. lol.

Many people have been screwed over by unions that protected older lazy employees over themselves. Its not the standard case, but thats not the point. Its the potential for abuse.

which ties back to why Dictator Bernie Sanders is so abhorrent to me. Do I think a dictator Bernie Sanders would actually be that bad? Eh... not really. The problem is the government structure that would be set up to enable a dictator Bernie to exist would also let a dictator Donald or a Dictator MTG to exist. You dont just get to depose of dictators you dont like, otherwise they wouldnt be dictators.

Communism is honestly interesting in theory, but the amount of political power required to enforce it Im convinced is just entirely corrosive.

I dont think its happenstance every communist government turned into a dictatorship. The frame work for a dictatorship is already set up. All you need is one leader who wants it to be one

Pragmatic libertarian is what I would honestly describe myself as. Im libertarian in the the most literal sense, I dont trust people with power to take care of others. That includes Billionaires and corporations, but also governments and Unions. My two biggest voting issues are prison reform and ending protectionist trade policies.

It generally ends with me getting in arguments with everyone.

I appreciate your thorough articulation of progressiveness. I see what you are saying.

In terms of righteousness, I think the error you are making is you are (possibly implicitly) assuming people who are more conservative than you like starvation and people dying from lack of medical care which isnt true at all. I dont want people to starve to death. I just dont think people starving in South Sudan is any more honorable than people starving in America. You do. There is no correct opinion out of those.

Seems kind of interesting, though Im not sure any game can do the meta game thing any more after undertale did it. Flowy force closing my game was a jarring experience that just cant be replicated ever again afterwards for example. I remember Pony Island tried it and I kind of rolled my eyes

Maybe Im giving Marvel too much credit? They usually are exceptionally good at tying plot together, so I have to assume Sword buzzing her in and showing her Visions body for no reason whatsoever was due to an evil plan and not one of the stupidest government actions of all time.

I would have to rewatch the scene, but if the goal was to not make her go crazy they made the wrong choice like 8 times in a row.

I think politics is so easy to get to, a free forum of Republican nonsense isn't any more exciting than normal nonsense and filibustering is going to be a net zero in terms of firing up supporters

I think the real downside is that it is a gigantic waste of time, which I have no idea what the result would be, but could be bad in government shutdown situations
