Usually in those sorts of situations you find out what people are really like when you listen in on them when they think you're not around, or what they say in moments where they get angry and argue, as those are times people let their guard down. There are people who will act nice in front of someone and talk the most vile shit imaginable once they think the target of their talk has left the area.

Carpet beetles are very tiny beetles, several times the size of a flea, with mottled brown, grey, and black shells. They'll live inside homes, in entire clusters, and munch on both fibers and shed skin. As a silver lining they lack any sort of diseases and it's mostly just the concept of them chomping on fibers that people must deal with.

In the Legendary Edition you get full XP for killing things in the Mako, so you can do that.

In the original version you'd have to beat a Thresher on foot for full XP; albeit only the final shot counted.

So, they made things easier for you...

Depending on the power company, some of them have alternative single fixed rates that they are loathe to admit existing. If you're the 9-5 type those rates are probably better for you, despite whatever honeyed words the company might whisper about flex rates.

If you're talking about the laws of the United States, animals are treated as property, so the law interprets it as you shooting someone over them breaking a window or whatever.

The notable exception is for dogs that work with law enforcement. They're treated as police officers, even as police officers shoot other people's dogs with full impunity.

If you're going solo the recommended challenge rating is a trap. It's listing recommendations for a party of four. I.e. if you match the recommended challenge rating expect to get one shot by annoying crap.

Beating the boss by jumping back and forth on these platforms so he stays in the fire isn't the most sportsmanlike way to win, but I'm okay with it.

It's okay, as there are people who decided to skip the difficulty setting grind by exclusively abusing leashing to fight on the highest difficulty setting from the outset. Apparently you keep loot even when respawning, so if you die partway through you can just run past the enemies in that area and continue combing for loot further in the level. Even bosses can have leash spots in their arena. It's all super cheesy.

Eh, people keep using the "if you dated someone and found out after some time that they were trans and stopped dating them as a result then you're a transphobic bigot" argument, but really that can fall into the category of "you feel deceived and what nothing more to do with that person".

I liken that to dating someone and finding out after some time that they've been married the entire time and thus cutting that person out of your life. In that situation people would likely empathize with the person who cut ties. But in the special case of a person being transgendered the situation is looked at from a loaded perspective of "accept this without question or be called transphobic".

Maybe the early negative reviews were part of a cool thing to do or something, or maybe the earliest reviewers played a crappy version.

Part of it is due to the AI being broken. Like "stand in front of them for 5 seconds as they lifelessly stare back at you" broken. Putting that aside though, the game is firmly in the territory of "Wait to purchase this for $10 a year from now on a sale". The game sort of shoots itself in the foot because the stages are designed with multiplayer in mind, but the player base is likely to be a ghost town 100 days from now.

Depending on what state you're in, businesses might be open at 100% capacity without masks required for customers. IIRC, OSHA still wants employees at grocery stores to wear masks; at least for the moment.

I don't like the Particle Rifle myself but I always upgrade it fully for Javik.

It's essential to upgrade the magazine size as much as possible. It also helps if you have a way to passively stagger enemies while the beam is in the initial charge up state. It's great when you can line up several enemies and watch the beam cut through them all(assuming you have the armor penetration mod, which is always a good idea).

IIRC the player meta-data screenshots released by Bioware showed that Soldier(Manshep) was the most played class.

For the female Turian, late in ME3's support cycle Bioware implemented one for the MP. She had poison gauntlets and was a hybrid character of sorts. Sadly they dropped support before her release glitches could be fixed.

I don't have a Paladin

I used to have a 'for fun' build with the Engineer in MP that used a Rocket specced Combat Drone along with the Paladin. Basically the rockets and Incinerate blasts were there to stack staggers on enemies, allowing an offhost Paladin headshot to finish the target.

Well, you can get it to do a few things: kill the Carthus Worm, break the wall in front of the Speckled Ring, and smash open the floor to reveal another entrance to the Demon's Ruins.

As for enemies controlling it, I guess you're supposed to assume some of the undead patrolling the area were operating it. It is rather video-gamey though. At least with Sen's Fortress in DkS1 you could see, and later kill, the giants operating the traps.

I remember the final boss of demon's souls as a joke.

The enemy at the end of Boletaria Palace was the 'final boss' from a gameplay perspective. The actual final fight is meant to portray the enemy as weak and pathetic, a wretch who caused a lot of destruction due to some selfish whim.

Yeah. This. Just going by raw numbers a lot of people end up in service and retail; which makes sense given how the economy is structured. Purchasing power has stagnated to the point where people just throw up their hands and say, "Nah, fuck your offer." But that shouldn't be a cause to double down on having people compete for scraps. The US is stupidly top-heavy when it comes to compensation compared to the rest of the world, focusing on investors and executives. The economy thrives most when there's a strong middle class, when a majority of people have spending money and feel secure enough in their income to spend said money.

People who think McDonald's is just meant for 16 year olds to get throwaway spending cash on the side are mentally stuck in the 1970's, when that statement last applied.

Besides, in most places it's to the benefit of the employer to pay higher wages to people actually invested in the job. The ever-revolving door of teenagers that pass through like tumbleweeds at retail aren't going to contribute much on average.

I see Soul Stream made a direct transition from Dark Souls 3...

With what appears to be an open world I personally would want more freedom in terms of spells or spell-like abilities. This is especially true if there are multiple giant enemies clustered together in fighting areas, as that spelled defeat in the Souls games.

I loved that shotgun for power-based classes. Its refire rate pairs well with animation cancels on powers. If the first shot stuns an enemy you have a chance to line up a crunchy headshot as well.

I swear Atlases are more durable than they used to be.

I forget if it applied to singleplayer, but in the multiplayer there used to be spots on the canopy you could strike to have your attack pass through extra hit boxes for more damage. I want to say it was near the top and at the lower corners of the glass. It was really noticeable with sniper rifles like the Widow or Javelin.

Personally I'd love to see masks become permanent in key areas, such as: planes, trains, buses, restrooms with multiple stalls, school hallways between classes, etc.

It would also help if people could work remotely at least part of the time for any positions that allow it. The less congestion in cities the better.

I hated blue cheese as a kid though.

For me it was mushrooms. Anything with mushrooms I would turn it away. Now, or at least before Covid, when I'm at a place with a salad bar I'll often put sliced mushrooms on the salad in a complete turnaround.

Spinach was on that list too, but that turned out to be because I was fed disgusting, salted spinach in a can... That, though, wasn't the fault of the spinach itself...

In the US you should have gotten a card; not that it's used for much beyond travel.

In Europe it's supposedly a mess, though they want digital EU records that normalize it. Otherwise you might have some Soviet Bloc documentation that makes other countries curl their lips in a dubious expression....

It was almost traumatizing and it was at some potluck thing

I can practically feel the trauma that might have caused, thinking you had eaten a bit mouthful of moldy food. It probably didn't help to see other people eat it without a care.

For my part the foods I can't stand are anything with buffalo sauce or blue cheese, doubly so when they're together. Thankfully they're relatively easy to spot.

Similar to cilantro, to some people's taste buds tomatoes have a disgusting taste. In the case of cilantro people describe it as eating a bar of soap.

If your taste buds don't respond that way then cilantro and tomatoes are fine in food. Personally I'll eat tomatoes cut in half with some seasoning on the tops.

Simon's Quest was my first Castlevania and it was far to esoteric for the average or even above-average gamer to complete without a guide.

As a kid I never beat Simon's Quest. I think the furthest I got was having 2 of the relics... somehow...

Goblin Slayer is definitely a DnD campaign. I think the number rolls are literally discussed as to why he is obsessed with killing goblins.

IIRC it was also inspired by a session of D&D the creator had, where his level 1 party went into a goblin cave and had to be rescued from a TPK by a DMPC, which the party liked enough for him to join in on their adventure.

Protip: Level 1 D&D characters are not heroes. They're basically villagers that can attack once or twice before getting slaughtered.

In #Skyrim the Khajit merchant chest in Dawnstar (I think) is within the rocks and obtainable without glitching out of bounds

You can sell them everything then just take it back along with their entire inventory

All 3 Khajiit Caravan chests are lootable. Dawnstar's is next to the mine, Markarth's is on the other side of the stone fence near their campsite, and Solitude's is sitting on that little bluff they camp on.

If you install the 'Unofficial Patch' fan mod though it moves the chests out of reach.
