The CCP is Nazi Germany right before they invaded Poland. The whole world knows how fucked up they are, they're literally using an ethnic minority in labor camps, but they have been clever enough and slow enough that people also aren't willing to risk their country over it. Their encroachment in the south China Sea is deliberate, them slowly putting all the port towns in Africa under their control through debt seizure is planned, their deconstruction of Hong Kong was carefully timed, and their border scuffles with India over empty land are shows of power. At this point, they'd have to deliberately fuck up and do something like steamroll over Taiwan and massacre everyone for the rest of the world to muster the energy to care.

I think the rules are actually pretty reasonable if you read them. It even explicitly calls out that anything that would be considered trash talk in the community is still acceptable. So I think they were trying to avoid some random person claiming they're triggered.

In Max's case it's because not only is he involved in tournaments as a commentator but he also has relationships with a lot of developers and would be a pretty obvious choice for someone to represent the community. For daigo, it's because he does compete in US tournaments and his signature would bring a lot of clout to the guidelines given his fame.

Certain advanced moves are just way easier on a fightstick, and if you get a square gate it can make charge characters WAY easier to play.

For example, a popular Cammy move in SFIV was her Cannon Strike, but there's an advanced form called the "tiger knee cannon strike" or "TKCS" for short. It involved buffering the cannon strike inputs into a jump and then executing the move the instant you are off the ground. If done correctly, she lands right where she is with the move. If you spam the light version of it, it's a great way to build meter if your opponent is turtling since you can rapid fire pull it off.

Normally to Cannon strike you have to do 214+k (or quarter circle back + kick) while jumping forward in the air. So instead you do 2149+k which buffers the attack into a forward jump to make it work. It's possible to do on a controller, but if you have a square gate fightstick getting that 9 off instead of accidentally jumping back or straight up is way, way easier.

Square trademarked "The First Soldier" and "Ever Crisis" recently.

For those that don't know, Ever Crisis follows their naming convention for FF7 sequel titles:
AC - Advent Children
BC - Before Crisis
CC - Crisis Core
DC - Dirge of Cerberus

So between EC and The First Soldier, unless one of them is the title of FF7R: part 2, we're looking at Square releasing at least 2 FF7-related games that might tie into the main plot the way KH did with all their side games.

She was basically just material for more merchandising. She has almost no contact with the main cast in 2.0 aside from just randomly popping up on the school roof and the obligatory fight scene at the end of the film.

In my humble opinion, she was added in after the fact when they realized they under budget and had time to spare.

Or, in my crazy fan-canon head: she's the reincarnation of Shinji, going back into the past over and over and trying to nudge his past self into making the right decisions to avoid the horrible future he causes. It's really only based on the fact that Mari goes right for him, knows exactly where he is, seems to know everything about everything, and the fact that Shinji's original character design was that of a girl anyway.

Yeah, it has a story, level up mechanics, and a map that you traverse and everything. You only start off with a couple of fighters and you unlock them as you rescue them throughout the campaign, and there's a ton of dialogue that's actually pretty well written. Stuff like frieza and cell roasting each other, etc.

Yeah, then you would probably enjoy the game. Single player has some RPG elements which enhances replay, the game has better than average tutorial mode, and there are Auto combos that can help if you just want to mash and feel like a badass.

single player mode is decently long, and the game has a lot of hand-holding mechanics for players who are bad at fighting games. If you like the series, 20 bucks is a steal for a game that is incredibly well polished. Honestly, though, if you're terrible at fighting games and looking for something DBZ related you might be better served getting a copy of xenoverse 2.

A coronavirus vaccine developed by China's Sinovac has been found to be 50.4% effective in Brazilian clinical trials, according to the latest results released by researchers.

It shows the vaccine is significantly less effective than previous data suggested - barely over the 50% needed for regulatory approval.

The tldr of the content below is basically that earlier trials were not counting people who caught covid if they didn't show moderate or severe symptoms, artificially inflating the actual effectiveness of the vaccine.

Last week researchers at the Butantan Institute, which has been conducting the trials in Brazil, announced that the vaccine had a 78% efficacy against "mild-to-severe" Covid-19 cases.

But on Tuesday they revealed that calculations for this figure did not include data from a group of "very mild infections" among those who received the vaccine that did not require clinical assistance.

With the inclusion of this data, the efficacy rate is now 50.4%, said researchers.

But Butantan stressed that the vaccine is 78% effective in preventing mild cases that needed treatment and 100% effective in staving off moderate to serious cases.

The Sinovac trials have yielded different results across different countries.

Last month Turkish researchers said the Sinovac vaccine was 91.25% effective, while Indonesia, which rolled out its mass vaccination programme on Wednesday, said it was 65.3% effective. Both were interim results from late-stage trials.
