Steam sale rn. I like DBZ, and I like the aesthetic of this game a lot. But I am incapable of being good at fighting games. Is it worth the eighteen just playing singleplayer?

single player mode is decently long, and the game has a lot of hand-holding mechanics for players who are bad at fighting games. If you like the series, 20 bucks is a steal for a game that is incredibly well polished. Honestly, though, if you're terrible at fighting games and looking for something DBZ related you might be better served getting a copy of xenoverse 2.

I have like 100 hours on xenoverse 2 actually, but I way prefer the 2D plane DBZ games to the tenkaichi/xenoverse style. If it's a steal imma snag it rn, thx

Yeah, then you would probably enjoy the game. Single player has some RPG elements which enhances replay, the game has better than average tutorial mode, and there are Auto combos that can help if you just want to mash and feel like a badass.

It's super long, almost too long. I couldn't finish the evil person story line because of how long the fights drug out for. It'd be cool if it didn't feel like a long loading screen on top of a long loading screen.

Question, are you getting the PC version and will you be putting it on an SSD? I'd say that's essential for this game not to feel grindy, cuz the story mode is pretty gargantuan.

And yes, it comes with only ONE of the THREE DLCs.

Buy the first one for $18. You'll learn if you enjoy the game or not and can decide whether or not to expand into the DLC characters. If you spend enough time with it, then you might be able to score all the passes later on for cheap if they ever get bundled together.

It's a fun game and even if you suck you can still get some pretty stylish combos by mashing soft attack. My team was Ginyu/Yamcha/Tien and I had a fucking blast, and I never play 2D fighters.

Yeah, it has a story, level up mechanics, and a map that you traverse and everything. You only start off with a couple of fighters and you unlock them as you rescue them throughout the campaign, and there's a ton of dialogue that's actually pretty well written. Stuff like frieza and cell roasting each other, etc.

Pretty sure no one ever said this and IDK if you're being sarcastic, but Smash at Melee and up at its basic level has more depth than FighterZ at its highest level. FighterZ is the fighting game equivalent of a railshooter with autolock on.

yeah I love fighterz but it might be the most basic fighter Ive ever played
