Here's the thing. I don't think its simple. I'm conflicted on the issue precisely because I'm not okay with executing innocent people or leaving them in jail and also because I think prison is worse than death.

We have killed innocent people, recently. There are innocent, or at least innocent by law, people on death row.
Retributive punishment is literally child logic. Children would rather hit someone who has harmed them and receive their own punishment than accept amenable punishment. Even if the guilt was accidental or imagined.

I don't expect them to. I think america's going to continue what it's been doing. The only significant change I expect to actually happen is that marijuana will get legalized at some point.

You are still accepting that killing innocent people is okay with this.

That's why we have a lengthy appeals process. And again, I said (and you quoted me saying this), I want a total overhaul of the legal system. I am not okay with most of it as it currently stands.

Oh I don't disagree. But baring the creation of a perfect justice system, which I don't believe is possible, why would we use a permanent punishment (death penalty) when an at least partially reversible punishment (life in prison) achieves the same societal benefit instead.

If you have the death penalty you are inevitably going to execute an innocent. Being for the death penalty means that even if you don't like it, you are okay with this idea.

I'm certainly not okay with executing innocents. I don't think I'm going to convince anyone on this subject, its a conflict of personal values. I value liberty more than life, so life in prison is the more barbaric practice in my view. Unfortunately death is a permanent state, whereas prisoners can be released, found innocent through appeal or pardoned, and false convictions are a problem.

So in the end my preference would just be to give people a choice between death or life in prison.

To pro-death penalty folks: How many falsely executed people are you okay with in order to keep the death penalty over life in prison, knowing that the same overall result, a dangerous person is removed from society, is achieved either way?

I'm not okay with any falsely convicted people, regardless of their punishment, that's a large part of why I want the legal system to get a complete overhaul.

I've always thought so, but i'm not really sure what a good alternative is for crimes that don't warrant the death penalty but do warrant keeping people separated from society.

I want them to make a deal for LWP when im pushing for the DP.

How would you feel if a murderer requested DP?

dunno if this was directed at me or not, but i think my preference would be for people to get a choice between LWP or the death penalty. I personally find prison to be worse than death but I imagine i'm in the minority on this.

No it fucking shouldn't, due process, even when its as flawed as the american legal system, is absolutely necessary. Innocent people have been executed before, and we absolutely should not skip that and just kill people without doing everything to allow them time to appeal.

I honestly can't tell the difference. If it didn't label it I sincerely doubt i'd have any idea which was 30 or 60 fps. Maybe if I watched it in super slow motion and paid super close attention, but just watching the video? I really see no difference.

I remember last time i played, I just refined curaga's from tents and had like 2000HP pretty close from the start. Don't think i finished the game on that playthrough, but it made the game super easy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for democracy and different movements providing different ideas, though I think too many cooks in the kitchen tend to result in making so many compromises that the end results are unsatisfactory to anyone.
