Generally speaking, the point is about 50% across the table.

The thing is, many states are capped at very low amounts, so 50% is only seen at lower levels. If you're making way more than than the cap, you could be getting as low as a few percent.

I think the cleanest way to do this is to just double the state amount, so a lot will end up at 100% at the very least, with many high earners around the 70%.

The wage replacement ratio of UI varies by state, but 50% is on the high end for sure.

This sounds really difficult too. I'm glad you're working to help other people in similar situations. A sense of obligation can be a great motivating factor, as long as you don't let guilt from not being able to do more swallow you up.

I appreciate it, but honestly I wouldn't trade childhoods with some people here. I get Maslow's hierarchy and all, but my parents never told me crap like boys shouldn't cry; just the opposite. When someone teased me that the little mermaid was for girls they were like 'well do you like it? Yeah? Are you a girl? No? Well there you go'

And I just realized that starting in a few days, Throne of Eldraine Premier draft with humans will be available for one week! I've been hoping they would do this for a while now. And then after that week is over Dominaria will be available for Premier draft for 2 weeks! Dominaria is largely considered one of the best draft environments ever, so it should be pretty fun.

And then on top of that, Amonkhet Remastered is coming out next month later in the month too. It is going to be draftable and have a sealed event, and all the cards will be playable for historic.

I missed a couple of these sets, that's awesome. I literally only draft except when I want gold sometimes

My parents are addicts, they fought a lot my whole life, though rarely (not never) physically.

My dad was arrested when I was 4. It happened while I was in the car, I remember we got pulled over for expired tags and my dad had a failure to appear warrant so they searched the car and he had crack, too. So they took him away for longer and my family became homeless shortly afterwards.

We lived in a homeless shelter, a car, a broke down rv in a liquor store parking lot, a shed in someone's backyard, and various illegal rental situations over the years. My mom's family helped move us across the country when I was 13 from California to Arkansas, which was the first time I had my own room since I was 4

My parents did always have high expectations of me and instilled a lot of positive values and virtues in me, too, though. My dad taught me to be generous to others because you don't know what issues they're dealing with, and my mom always stood up for her principles even in the face of professional and personal disaster.

Both the good and the bad influenced who I am today. I feel an obligation to kids who grew up like I did because I know I was lucky. So I work to change public policy to better address the needs of poor and marginalized people and communities.

but I live in a city which is HEAVILY cookie cutter HOA developments. And some have full on olympic swimming pools, parades, events for holidays, etc etc that they provide for the residents so if you like those amenities then def worth it.

i prefer no hoa

Yeah, the draw of HOAs is that they provide 'public goods' for a fee (this is often referred to as 'club goods' in the literature)

That ranges from parades to beautification projects to snow plow services, it really just depends on the HOA

I just want to know how HOA's even get formed. Like I understand why they get formed. I understand why people like them. I understand why people hate them. But like what are the logistics of how they get formed, because I feel like they only way they could be even remotely binding is if you got everyone in the neighborhood to initially agree to it

The housing is built by the developer as an HOA, more or less

I think it's technically possible to establish one retroactively like that but very uncommon
