Saints Row the Third isn't a GTA clone, 1 and 2 was but 3 does its own thing as does 4.

How is it not a GTA clone? It feels pretty much like San Andreas with a goofier plot

I basically stopped console gaming for the generation they rose to popularity. Though I've played a few that are on PC, like bully and sleeping dogs. Just beat saints row 3 and it made me want to get back into them.

Saints Row 2 is the closest to GTA:SA. It's not as good, but it can be a fun alternative.

SR4 is just balls to the walls embracing that it's a sandbox game and lets you have fun in it. If you're enjoying 3 you'll probably enjoy 4.

Well I'm enjoying 3 because it reminds me a lot of San Andreas. I don't mind how over the top it is at all, but I do think I'd like it more if it had more of a ramp up in the story, which it sounds like 1 and 2 did that and 4 is even more straight into the over the top action.

Like I'm already firing rockets out of helicopters in the prologue, it would be cool to do more of the street level stuff first

I actually know a couple of older people in the US who voted for Trump last time and will be voting against him now. They also voted for Obama. I would describe them as low information voters who don't really think about politics any more deeply than they think about what they want for dinner. Those type of people are the ones who will decide the election.

SR2 is the series at its best. It branches out from its GTA clone of a predecessor and leans into the absurdity that becomes it's trademark but without everything becoming a joke. Stillwater is a fantastic, varied city and the missions and side games are much better here than the rest of the franchise. Customization is second to none.

SR3 is SR2 with better graphics, more polished gameplay and less if everything else. The game now rest entirely in absurdity to the point that nothing is serious. Steelport is boring. Customization is worse. The missions kinda suck. Still a fun game but it just doesn't compare to 2.

I don't understand what 'everything else' is that sr3 has less of from reading this. The gameplay is better but the missions are worse? How so?

Not wanting to contract a highly contagious virus that has globally killed 1.6 million and spread it throughout your family is a pretty big fucking incentive also. Human beings should have the humane right to not put themselves in the middle of a potentially fatal scenario to themselves and their families.
