the additions to the story in later gens felt totally unwelcome. the sketched nature of the first games felt appropriate for the poor development and dialogue, but the more was added, the more it highlighted how pointless the story was. at least in 4 and 5.

I'm uplifted by the fact that over the past two/three months I took a lot more time to hang out with her than in recent times. I went to the casino with her for a day. Went out to lunches. I sat and watched the entire presidential debate with her and had our own version of the debate right after that was fairly productive. Sat and watched the election results with her.

It's small things like that but I can't recommend it enough if you've got your parents here still. Just make the time and do it even if it seems tough to do with everything going on in your life.

okay so i got the luck-J scroll and the three star. i feel safe to say i never would have figured out any of it other than

1. balamb beach
2. the desert bridge (but... i couldn't find the break draw point)
3. the logic puzzle with the four rocks. it took me some time but i eventually figured out that blue was telling me what everyone else did: red lied (and was thus the only helpful one); black always said the same thing (and was thus useless); white said complete nonsense. so the end of this was satisfying!

unless there is any compellig reason to do another sidequest (and i'm open to them) we'll be storming lunatic pandora next time! and i'll have to do a level check to determine who's coming along...

so twice now i've accidentally gone into the lunar pandora

the first time i just flew there by mistake and wound up re-grinding for the marlboros again (and wasn't as lucky with zanketsuken - was down to seconds left with squall before he took it down!) as well as the steel pipes

the second time was after i mistakenly went to lunar gate instead of tears point. i instructed ragnarok to go to tears point... and it flew straight into the lunar pandora

Yeah I can see what they mean looking back but it's way too obscure to be considered reasonable.

OK so the 666 items you need actually means you need 6 of three kinds of items that are alluded to in the other mags- 6 Steel Pipes, 6 Remedy+ items and 6 Malboro tentacles. I'm just gonna copy/paste how to get them from the wiki:
-Steel Pipes can be mugged from Wendigos (enemy fought in forests in Timber region) or refined from Elastoid cards.
-Remedy+ can be obtained by refining 10 Remedies with Alexander's Med LV Up ability (must learn Med Data first).
-Malboro Tentacles are obtained by defeating or mugging Malboros (the infamous green tentacle Bad Breath monsters that should be found in random battles around Esthar). One can also use Quezacotl's Card Mod to refine a Malboro Tentacle from four Malboro cards.

Once you have 6 of each you need to get Solomon's Ring from Tears' Point in Esthar (you can do this beforehand if you want), then use it in the inventory like with the Magic Lamp to get the GF (there's no boss battle weirdly enough). Good luck with the Malboros I remember them being annoying!

tonberry get! ironically king tonberry does a lot less damage than the little tonberries, though he does have more health.
