It's a zero-sum game, so there will be a lot of losers.

Many of the "le reddit army" jumping on this are going to lose a lot of money too.

But as for hedge funds specifically, there's virtually zero harm to anyone who isn't directly involved in the funds when we see losses of 30% like we are seeing with Melvin.

They basically got caught holding their dicks and had a poor strategy to begin with.

If I had the money for a rolex, I'd probably buy one. In the business world, rolex's can be very important for impressing people you need to impress. Same with Italian shoes, tailored suits, $350 haircuts ($1500 haircuts for women), etc.

Its the next level of Jim Rome's "attitude" radio. It's basically The Chive, but sports-focussed. They bleed groupthink which will eventually forsake their followers when the hot new channel comes along. Their top earning content no longer needs barstool (CHD, SC, PMT), and are in fact being held hostage by the network in some cases. 98% of their other content is pure trash.

the dollar value is relatively small (well, for car damage, 1600 is a lot, but i assume Tesla's are more expensive to fix), but it is big just due to the sheer dishonesty. some employers are really lazy at getting T4s out. I used to work for a company that literally forgot, i had to call them on the deadline. They said it was "in the mail", which in accounting terms means "we haven't done it yet"
