This one is a lot more interesting. Fruit picking can be, depending on the fruit, some of the most rewarding work a human can do.

That said, unlike fast food, which is pretty much the same no matter where in the world you are and what company you are used by, fruit picking has a wide variety of work conditions and physical prerequisites.

Explicit is nothing without cultural context. Are the words explicit? Sure. Are the more explicit than something you would find on the equivalent of daytime tv (tiktoks, instagram, snapchat, twitter)? Not by a long shot. So what if it's explicit? Auto-insert email replies are meant to help people that reply to many emails in a day to help get through routine things more quickly. That's not demeaning.

A cashier offering to help you in an empty line when you're standing in a longer line is them offering assistance to help get you through the line more quickly in case you didn't notice/didn't see them open/whatever. That's not demeaning.

Both of those assume a level of incompetency that is above and beyond what is a reasonable estimation.

Santa, out of curiosity, let's say that you're driving home from somewhere you aren't familiar with and don't know the route. You have the GPS on in the car's media console, with its sound disabled. How annoying do you find it still giving you directions when you reach a point where you know exactly how to get home, and do you go out of your way to turn it off?

I find GPS directions in general pretty annoying! Just look up the location, memorize exits and you don't need an annoying robot voice lecturing you. (the specific situation you outlined isn't that bad because 90% of my drive home from anywhere in the state is a single road)

When you're in line at the grocery store, and there's someone there to push you into a more empty line. Get the heck away from me lady, I'm not in a hurry. If I wanted that line, I would walk into it myself, I am a grown man. The worst is when they rush me into the express lane when I have a bunch of groceries, that lane should be empty for people who aren't buying that much! Thats why it's there!

I've used almost every artisan soap on the market, lots of things were industrialized in the early 20th century and it's bonkers people still use the harsh chemical versions.

nothing gets me quite as clean feeling as irish springs though. Most natural soaps don't really do the job as well.
