I think you're confusing Twitter activism with real life. The vast majority of people are too fat and lazy to do anything other than bitch online. Whatever side wins, the losing side will throw a tantrum for a few weeks and then a bunch of people will go on a book tour and the country will move on. I've been realizing that I'm pretty depressed recently and I've been pinning those feelings on my worry about the future and stuff but I also got to keep in mind how my immediate surroundings affect me. I've been stuck in my hot bedroom for 5 months now in the middle of nowhere. I spend the whole day laying in bed and scrolling forums because there's nothing else to do. There's a Kroger close to my apartment and I really hope I can get a job there stacking shelves or something. Something that will let me move and work with my hands.

Almost all of my classes are online. I dunno how it will go. I think it would be great if they were pre recorded lectures because then id have more flexibility for work hours. But my first class to come into Canvas has confirmed it will be a zoom meeting.

I really hate Zoom. Discussion through video is just not productive. Makes me want to tear my hair out and it messes with my brain as an introvert. Supposedly the class will only have zoom meetings sparsely before midterms and stuff but it's still something to account for. I'm sure my creative writing class will be full live zoom meetings. The more I think about that the more anxious I get, it seems so cumbersome.

School used to be really important to me but it feels like a sideshow to life now.

Statistics are really really hard for me. Economics & applied math end up at cerebral statistics stuff for the most part.

It's not exactly like I'm too far in but I get a lot of financial aid from business scholarships and my mom puts huge pressure on me not to switch despite how its affected my mental health.

Riker is his name. And yeah I was shocked by how mean and grumpy Picard can be since all the memes made him out to be much more comical in his rebukes.

S1 was also weird because there's lots of episodes that seemed like they belonged way later in a series. There's an alcohol drug callback to TOS in episode 2 that makes everyone out of character but that's not very fun or meaningful yet since you don't know them. The first person I ever voted for was Sleepin' Joe Donnelly. But he didn't wake up... I remember working out at Ball State Uni gym when I saw on the TV an ad of Mike Pence dunking on Joe and supporting his sycophant challenger Todd Young. I think that finished him.

Business, trying to get a dual degree in English. The business part pays half my nearly-full-ride but it takes up a lot of time and makes me sad because it turns out business stuff really turns me off. It's hard and uncomfortable for me to imagine a passionless career. Most people here seem just fine having a consulting job at Deloitte or whatever for the rest of their life and I end up feeling alienated from them.

I'm not really sure, I could probably look up Judai's freshman year age but it never exactly felt like high school to me. They had too much freedom to fuck around. And when Kaiser/Zane graduated he went straight to competitive dueling which means its potentially a terminal program.
