Oh yeah, Hooves and Harlots was the Amazon/centaurs episode with the kid taken hostage, and The Reckoning was the one where Ares (laughably petty here) used his supreme god powers to erase footprints in the dirt. What a guy!

I didn't know Ares' actor died in real life, though. It's been eighteen years already? Damn.

Hmm, I'm trying to remember what happened in S1, but I'm having trouble remembering just looking at episode titles. I recognize the ep where Gabby enrolled in bard college and maybe the one with the Trojan horse. But yeah, outside of some Callisto craziness, there were some drab eps in there (anything with Xena's clones was bad).

Yeah, Ares is great. I mean...he still wanted to be a slave-owning plantation dude, but compared to his earlier bloodlust, he's slightly more reformed. Without Xena around to pull on his leash, though, who knows what would happen to him.

Another ep I watched this morning was a parody of "The Most Dangerous Game," where some Amazon trapper is hunting people. He had a triangular boomerang thing to counteract Xena's chakram and had all these traps laid. Varia was in the ep and she bonded with Xena (d'awwww) after almost dying in a mineshaft like a putz.

After slogging through some rather bland Norse trilogy, we're back with an ep about Ares assuming a new identity as a peasant. There's a great exchange right at the beginning when Ares is brainstorming possibilities.

Xena: You've got to do something that no one would expect.
Ares: Like what?
Xena: Ares...how are you at shoveling shit?

The look on Gabrielle's face had me rolling.

Yeah, I'm okay with Lydia/Eve fitting into the travel companion dynamic to replace Joxer (RIP). Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but Eve hasn't shown up in several episodes and I forget why. I'm also curious where the hell Amarice went. Did she get off-screened in the timeskip? I want to say she died in the same attack that killed Yakut, but I forget if they showed some Amazon queen instead of her on the pyres.

Oh well...guess the silver lining is being able to use those gems for expanding equipment slots. I hate to do it, but throwing away event-only stuff just ain't worth it.

Whoa, they were broadcasting Xena and Gabby's bare-assedness in S6E5. The show's been a bit shyer about anything too risque like that, but I guess by the year 2000, that wasn't much of a problem anymore. (Probably body doubles anyway...probably.)

It's The Legend of Dragoon, sir.

But yeah, this is one of the more memorable PS1 RPGs and definitely deserves some love. Anything would be nice at this point, since it's just gathering dust on the shelf.
