The Magic of Scheherazade on the NES. This game for it's time was amazing...optional characters, it was an action rpg like zelda in that it had overworld fighting but at the same time had final fantasy/dragon quest style random battles. You could hire mercenaries to fight with you in those battles, try different formations. You could switch between 3 different classes, go to a store and barter with the shop keep to lower prices (push your luck too far and the dude straight up kicks you out and ban you from the store, lol). You could go to a casino and play roulette.

That game was responsible for starting my lifelong love of rpgs.

I don't know too much of the genre myself, but I did hear danganronpa is one of the better ones. There is a collection of that on the PS4 you could get.

EDIT: Sweet baby jesus the danganronpa trilogy physical disc is more than 100 bucks. Man now I am thinking about selling mine, lol.

.......then super took away from gohan's one badass moment again in the super manga, revealing those shits to still be alive........somehow......yeah. Not too fond of the dragonball super manga personally.

Hell no. Shit is annoying in south carolina since our jank-ass power plants is forever going out around my way if you so much as breath on a power line. We get a ton of summer storms here since I am close to the beach, so its not uncommon to get like, a storm for a entire week in a row. Not only that, but I lost the NES controller in port 2 in my NES back in the day and my OG xbox during lightning storms because they both got hit. Lightning storm just said fuck your power strip bitch, your xbox about to die. (During the night when everyone was sleeping).

.....on the other hand, I love snow. We rarely see snow down south, so my friends and family up north think I am nuts since they obviously get enough of that up there, lol.

Because of this topic, I went to check out that get my payment link to make sure its still working, and its definitely working right now.

Out of curiosity, how are you entering your street address? That was what was tripping me and my family up back when we were entering out info and kept getting status now available back in april. What you do is type in your address to google, and then copy and paste the first result you see into the address section in that get my payment link.

Like, if you live on a street that has east in it, you will spell it just E, lane is Ln, etc. No periods at the end. That link is extremely picky, so if you get this part wrong you will not be able to see your info.

Essentially, yeah. It's just it seems Japan's standards are reverse for the West's standards. Over there it seems risque/sexy content is fine while gore and violence is much less so.

Nah, even this tends to always get censored in japan, as far back as the ps2 with games like god of war. Those sex minigames in god of war 1 through 3 are always removed for them, and in games like order 1886, red dead redemption, grand theft auto, etc. etc., sex scenes or nudity in general is automatically removed. Surprisingly, the west tends to be like whatever when it comes to M rated nipple nudity, lol. I think only that conan mmo was the only censored game, for NA.

Japan is a bit more lenient with those teen rated anime games with sexual or mature content (this is the kind of stuff where you will probably see a western version alter or remove something so the rating does not get changed. Tales of xillia 2 had a altered scene off the top of my head), but when it comes to the M rated stuff both sex and violence tends to be a bit toned down in their versions of games.

I have two OLEDs. One that I got in 2015 (LG) and one that I got in 2018 (Sony) that Ive gamed extensively on. No burn in. You really need to try to get burn in on the screen with repetitive content over weeks and weeks.

I don't doubt you, but its one of those things where it feels like its a gamble to me. When I was getting my first high budget TV back in 2018, I've combed all over avsforums, avforums, rtings, reddit, and wherever else looking up image retention rates, how many people got it on their sets and so on...and I didn't like what I seen in the master image retention thread on avsforums and how the vast majority of those guys explained the steps you would need to take to make sure your TV lasts.

Like you said, there is some people who were fine with their sets (same goes for plasma TV owners. Guys out there who never had a single issue with their plasma TVs and whatnot), but I decided it was too big a gamble for me because knowing my luck, I would be one of those guys who got burn-in in the first 3 months, lol. I am constantly falling asleep on my TV with either a game on idle or with youtube playing, and when I do game, I go all in since I rarely have anything else better to do. I already know damn well I would not make for a good OLED owner. *Not that I am in a big rush to bother getting a new TV anyway. I really loved the Q8FN I bought in 2018, and the Q9FN I got in may this year, since I liked the Q8 so much I wanted to get the top model of that year, sold my Q8 to my brother*.

Resident evil games has been censored in japan ever since the very first 1 if I remember right. They always had them booty butt cheek resident evils/biohazards,

EDIT: Ah yeah, the west had the censored version of part 1. Part 2 on up is when it went the other way around.

By the time 8K content is common enough to warrant going out of my way for one, I would rather just get a microLED TV at that point, screw both lcd and OLED tech, lol.

Because I personally believe paying 1,000+ dollars to buy a TV just to babysit it is a bit too much. (And no, despite how much some people want to reassure theirselves, the technology can never be completely rid of image retention and burn-in. There is features that helps make the TV's picture last, like pixel shift and them increasing the oled's reds since red tends to be the first color that degrades the fastest, but the inherent flaw of OLED tech is that the picture will eventually degrade). A lot of guys will bring up the fact that they owned their new OLED for a whole whopping year, don't babysit it and is totally fine, but I play the long game....I need my TVs to last me at least 7 or 8, and I don't have faith in any OLED's screen looking like the day that it was first bought that long.

I really like the samsung Q9FN I got for 1,000 bucks back in may...the blacks is definitely good enough for me, I like the 10 percent HDR peak nits window the Q9FN is capable of reaching that freaking melts my eyeballs (a really bright peak nits capable TV combined with one that is capable of reaching good blacks with a decent FALD system makes for gorgous video games. Ghost of tsushima is like, whoa. I wouldn't be comfortable cranking a OLED TV to max brightness for HDR because I would be too worried about that being bad for the screen), and best of all you have that peace of mind that you will never get a overwatch ultimate meter or whatever else static video game HUD element plastered on your screen because you played one game way too much, or accidently fell asleep watching the news or something.

As far as vizio goes, I have a lot of family that had some bad experiences with their vizios crapping out on them quick. I wouldn't feel comfortable getting an expensive OLED from them, lol.

Stupid. Had that been the twist for the very first game in the series, it would have been "eh, alright". You just don't pull that kind of crap off on dudes who put tons of hours into part one and like, lord knows how many playthroughs through part 2, both games were played straight as science fiction games with a little bit of time travel sprinkled in. *This was me. Huge fan of part 2, I beat that game on my ps1 so much that the disc was pretty much on life support from all the scratches). I was hyped for part 3, got it on ps2 release, got to that plot twist and its just like........wut. Like, for me personally, I just can't get into the prequels story-wise....because my mind will always think back to the final boss of part 3.....some fucking programmer nerd that got mad that the mmo he makes patches for or whatever gained too much sentience. Its like if mario had to jump out of a game and kick shigeru miyamoto's ass because he mad mario got too smart. "I think therefore I am...SO DEEP".

That is why you either back dudes that has some kind of track record with game releases, or if its a known dev that has a track record with games you personally liked (and make sure said dev's past track record isn't too iffy for your tastes, like with inafune's and yu suzuki's. Like, I personally would not give either of these two money since I am well aware inafune is extremely hit and miss, and yu suzuki like to blow his game's budgets on stupid shit).

I was one of the dudes that went all in with bloodstained, backed at the 150 dollar tier. I had complete faith in IGA since I practically liked every single game that he had a part in (the exception being that one castlevania fighter on the wii, castlevania judgement). I had faith he was going to put out a good game, and for me he totally delivered with bloodstained. (I backed for the PS4 version, so I have no experience with the apparently crappy switch port).

Bloodstained was a success, all things considered (took like, 4 years to come out. Was first announced in like may of 2015 and didn't release until june 2019). Some of the stretch goals got changed (I am still pretty butt-hurt about getting that random generated castle. That could have been a ton of replay value) and the switch port should have never existed, but it was successful.

I would go as far as the say the vast majority of video game kickstarters is succesful with what they want to do.....its just that the stinkers like mighty no. 9 get way more publicity, so you always hear about the failures.

PSO was my first ever online game, so it definitely taught me that hard lesson about being naive and trusting others in online play, lol.

My fire emblem fates special edition is up there nowadays. Seems to be going for around 210 dollars or so on ebay.

I have a good bit of rare games on the nes, genesis, snes, ps1, and ps2, mostly rpgs since I have been playing them since I was a ol' young boy. I see some of these recent limited run game releases like bloodstained curse of the moon limited edition and river city girls classic edition is getting up there.

I actually do recall reading something like this, about how konami did not care to go for home ports because accliam would just try to take credit for their work. It was weird on how the rights worked back then, like konami had the rights to make games for whatever series in the arcade but acclaim had all console rights to that same series.

Apparently, it was because konami only had the rights to make arcade games, and could only port it to the PC and commodore 64. Acclaim had simpsons rights to consoles like the nes, snes and genesis.

This. Its actually easier for me to name shows that I fell off and never caught up.

I fell off on one piece...faithfully watched the anime for years until they got to the dressrosa arc, and then I finally caved to the crazy ass pacing issues the anime has. Only way I am catching up now is if funimation keeps up with the dub dvd releases so that way I can have the show marathon as background noise or something.

I stopped watching the walking dead (I inititally was hooked on this series for the first like, 3 seasons) because it eventually got boring to me and killed off all the characters I grew to care about.

played it on both. The single player is the worst naughty dog game ive played, but i loved the multiplayer

Yeah, the multi was fun as hell. It reminds me of gears of war series' multiplayer in that you have to get good extremely quick or you will just be absolutely destroyed by dudes who knew what they were doing.

Its also why part 2 is a one and done game for me and don't plan on buying a PS5 version if it becomes a thing since they decided to axe the multiplayer.....it has no replay value whatsoever after getting that plat. trophy. Just going through the game the second time around just to get at the last two trophies was a absolute slog because of all the forced walking and talking+constant unskipable flashback sequences.
