I had a jacked up save file in demon's souls on PS5 that made my game blue-screen and close out every single time I went to this certain part of the steps in 3-1, the steps leading up into the fool's idol boss fight. No matter what I did, whether it was getting into a quick pvp scrap and then returning to my own world, try to take detours, actually fully cut off and cut back on my PS5 etc., I could not get on these steps without the game closing out.

Luckily, I disabled auto-sync so I still had my demon's souls save on cloud storage that was about 40 minutes back or so. I re-downloaded that save, and then my game was fine. I should have recorded all this with my phone or something, but it was the strangest shit ever. I did take a picture of my error log though:

This...if anything, they need to modernize their online infrastructure and actually have a Wi-Fi chip that isn't garbage. Maybe Smash can actually have good online.

Continuing to release their systems without a goddamn ethernet port will forever be the dumbest thing they continue to do. Of course people like us will most likely buy a lan adapter or something like that to have stable connections, but your average joe isn't going to go through the effort of doing something like this, and then on top of that having to look up port forwarding, firewalls, and whatever else to help their terrible wi-fi connections.

Drives me crazy how we have extremely fun games like smash and super mario maker 2, but nintendo's crappy online just.....hampers the experience so much.

Nintendo needs to join the current era when it comes to their garbage-ass online. I like my nintendo systems to play those nintendo exclusives you cannot get anywhere else, but online gaming on them just sucks so, so bad. The OG xbox got it right back in 2001, sony joined the party in 2006 with the PS3, but nintendo is just......still really sucking at that. Then they got the gall to charge for it.

Valkyria chronicles 1 was pretty good imo. Even had a dramatic funeral at some point that just hits you right in the feels. War is hell man.

Still hoping for ryu hayabusa myself since tecmo was one of those old-school devs that has been around since the NES days and would like to see them get a rep into smash to match all the other old timer 3rd party devs. Feels like ryu being based off the 3 NES ninja gaidens would be perfect for that.

The person (or in this case, probably a young teen or something) that got the PS5 posted their order number, address, and other details without blocking them out like people usually do in that pre-order excitement picture.

It didn't take long for someone out there on the internet to get into their wal-mart account (probably by contacting support with that order number in plain view, =/) and cancel their pre-order.

Naturally, in a street fight, the dude with more training, skill, and experience loses because it's on da streetz.

Most people just become natural warriors out on that pavement. You see it in their fluid movements such as "Windmills arm punches" and "Heymaker thrown so poorly they fall down" and also "Pants that are so loose they fall down while fighting".

The fact that there is also lead pipes and baseball bats laying around in da streetz doesn't help this matter. Overall, training how to fight is useless in a street fight because I will just gouge their eyes and kick their nuts without any training in how to do so.

You also forgot the oil drum chickens that can recover your health from nothing to full. Bruce lee is much, much faster and can also wall jump, thus he gets easier access to these oil drum chickens. This is a uphill battle for mike tyson.

It's like NOTHING has changed at all. So like...why even buy a next gen console?

For the framerates honestly. I'm not a PC gamer, so the fps that we currently get with the next gen consoles feels pretty great, and the PS4 games that has unlocked framerates is now easily reaching 60fps when played via BC. Playing stuff like one piece pirate warriors 3, earth defense force 5, monster hunter world and sekiro with 60fps is awesome. Personally, I can take or leave stuff like ray tracing, so I hope they keep resolution and performance options throughout the entirety of the next console generation...let people who prefer the 4K raytacing 30fps option do their thing, and those of us that is fine with upscaled 4K/1080p with minor or no raytracing and a smooth locked-in 60fps do our thing.

I think we are at that point where we are starting to get diminishing returns for the games that go for the "realistic" approach in graphics. For now, improving HDR (which means buying a TV capable of displaying great HDR or else you are missing out) and going for unique art styles (like that dead of the west indie game...I would like to imagine a PS5 or xbox series X game created with this type of art style in mind would look amazing) while maintaining 60fps would probably be the most impressive stuff out of the next console generation.

I have been on demon's souls all last night, and playing devil may cry 5 special edition for a good bit today, and I'm loving both. I got up on that free borderlands 3 upgrade offer so I can get back into that with my boy later on tonight, and being able to just plug and play my external hdd to the PS5 and play my library of 200+ PS4 games, with a good bit of these benefiting from the fps increase is really nice. Monster hunter world iceborne just....feels better in every single possible way, and now its like how the fuck did I even play this on the pro after just playing it on the PS5 for 10 minutes, lol. I never played through god of war, ghosts of tsushima, and finished sekiro yet, so all these games will benefit with the fps when I actually finish them this time around.

Admittedly there is not much actual PS5 games I am excited for at this exact moment besides ratchet and clank, but seeing as how I needed a replacement PS4 since my pro was sounding like a jet engine and getting overheat errors with red dead online, the PS5 is a great purchase for me. Long story short, no, its not going to be all too exciting for PS5 games since the line-up isn't quite there yet, but as a replacement ps4 pro?, god damn do I love this big, ugly bastard.

The system runs way snappier/smoother than the ps4 pro did, and the media functions like saving video clips and broadcasting is greatly improved (finally, we can make unlisted or private streams on youtube...I have been wanting this forever) so that is also a huge plus for me.

This. Honestly, I am more excited to play through some of my PS4 backlog with better framerates more than the actual PS5 games right now, since I don't really do the PC gaming thing like that. Its going to be fun playing through god of war, ghosts of tsushima, and sekiro with a solid 60fps. There is always that risk of a launch console having issues, but I personally never had a single problem with either my PS4 or PS4 pro, so I decided to take the leap of faith again.

I like to think I am above average. Been a regular gamer since the 80s and used to go through stuff like castlevania 1, battletoads and ghosts n' goblins with practice as a kid.

For fighting games, that is a different story. Was pretty good at classic street fighter, just ok at street fighter 4 era street fighter, would get my shit kicked in at tekken, was above averge at soul calibur many moons ago, was above average at dead or alive, was ok at king of fighters, was pretty good at guilty gear, and was "aight" at blazblue.

For some weird reason, I never did have a legit copy of Kof '99, but I did have capcom vs snk 1, every version of street fighter 3 and last blade 2. (I had capcom vs snk 2 eo on the xbox, bought this version mainly for the online play. Blankas and sagats galore!). The dreamcast was amazing for fighters man....it was like the first console that was getting those 100 percent no-nonense arcade to console ports, the neo geo aside. The saturn was close with it's cart add-on, but the resolution still was a little off. The dreamcast was balls to the wall arcade port goodness.

The dreamcast was infamous for dudes pirating a lot of games since you really didn't have to do much. If I remember correctly, you can play games straight off a music cd...that was all it took.

I actually owned all of the games I had though..soul calibur, power stone 1 and 2, marvel vs capcom 1 and 2, phantasy star online+version 2, mark of the wolves etc etc.

Half the time, the PS2 versions of certain games flat out had all it's online features stripped. Return to castle wolfenstein on the xbox justs.....shits on the PS2 version so bad.

Yeah for the PS5. Just getting demon's souls and devil may cry 5 special edition for now. For the most part, I am just enjoying the 60fps I'll get for most of the PS4 games I will be playing until more PS5 games I am interested in come out. (I never played spider-man, ghosts of tsushima, or finished sekiro yet, so its going to be cool playing through these 3 with 60fps. Waiting for horizon zero dawn to get some sort of 60fps patch also since I never finished that either).

Not only that, but they put it on the console (or made a deal with microsoft, whatever the hell they did) with the least amount of a passionate weeb fanbase. PC players can't do it alone....the playstation and switch players would have crazy spent money in that game.
