I don't think cooking is that hard unless you want to be fancy (baking seems to be trickier than other cooking on average, though), but I'm not very dexterous with my hands, so I tend to stick to eating food stuff that doesn't require handling a knife, which means I don't cook much of anything anyway. Mostly eat like... sandwiches and cans of stuff, etc...

Jfc, I could maybe understand their freakouts if he was just walking around naked, but this is ridiculous. If you think that your civilization is so fragile that it will crumble to dust because some men wear dresses, then your civilization is too pathetic to endure regardless and frankly, probably not worth trying to preserve anyway. If civilization didn't collapse when we stopped dressing baby boys in dresses, then it won't collapse when men start wearing them either. Fucking stupid fucks.

It's literal Nazi propaganda. "Cultural marxism," it's called. The more savvy of those who push this notion will point to work like, say, F. Engels' book, "The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State," and screech about how communists want to destroy your family, but the more they talk, the more it's clear that they are completely unfamiliar with the subject matter and are just fearmongering via strawmen.

Ngl, I do like pretty pendants, but I rarely buy jewelry for myself. Bracelets I rarely wear because I like long sleeves, and I don't wear earrings because they catch on my hair or are hidden by it.

One of my sisters has an ex. She used to complain that I gave her more thoughtful/pretty presents than him, which tbh was kinda fucked up because I only gave her stuff on her birthday/holidays.

that's one hell of a gamer family lol

i'm the only gamer in mine
Yeah, I've been told it's atypical. My mother's father used to play table-top war games, and my parents and their friends played a lot of D&D. They purchased an NES in... I think it was 1991, though they'd played video games before that, so my sisters and I all grew up playing video games. My youngest sister and I are the only ones REALLY into video games, though all of us like them a lot, and to go full-circle, my youngest sister is also currently our Dungeon Master for a campaign that my mother, nephew, and I are participating in.

I was delighted when it turned out my step-mom likes video games a lot, too. My mother's late boyfriend never really cared for them. My cousins game as well to varying degrees. I actually have a fairly extensive family though we're pretty spread out so we often don't interact much.

I shit you not, my little sister was the first person to discover the Grumble Volcano lap-skip in Mario Kart Wii. She held the world record because of it until people used her ghost to replicate and master it (she'd stumbled into it and was only able to replicate it fairly clumsily with very poor time, the record didn't stand very long). Problem is that I have no proof save for MAYBE data preserved on my Wii, and my Wii can't read discs anymore, so I can't even check and see if it retains any real proof. *sigh*
I think she also had a MKWii Rainbow Road world record? but I don't remember clearly; I'll have to ask her about it again. She played the fuck out of that game, and while my second sister and I together were basically unbeatable at DD (locally, not that that's a huge achievement lol), my youngest sister was easily the best of us at MKWii.

What else? One of my older sisters is an NES Tetris wiz. She doesn't like any other version and she'll only play it with a proper NES controller. She can hit the "cap" on the game with some warming up, though she's probably out of practice nowadays. She's very good at racing games, too.

My oldest sister isn't really interested in mastery I don't think? but I remember her being very good at platformers. Haven't seen her game in years though; she lives about 300 miles away.

My parents used to keep graph paper so they could chart out maps in video games. I think we still have their maps in a manilla envelope, though I'm not sure where it is? They both like SRPGs, with my mom favoring Total Annihilation/Dungeon Keeper and my father favoring Warcraft2/Starcraft1, but they have pretty broad tastes. My mom also really like Destroy All Humans! 1-2, Dragon Quest, Legacy of the Wizard, etc... my father liked games like Dungeon Master (modern equivalent would be Legend of Grimrock).

Beyond the obvious reasons, I think people are more politically engaged these days in general, and what with the pandemic, participating in the election may have been seen as a form of communal activity, I suppose. Mail-in voting is much more appealing than standing in line for hours and hours when you've got work to do anyway.

I'm pretty sure this election had one of the highest turnout to eligible voter ratios (if not the highest), but it's hardly a shocking %, just atypical for the USA. Edit: Nope, it's not even the highest. The record for the USA is over 79%.

While Legacy of the Wizard is part of a series (Dragon Slayer), it does not have any true prequels/sequels. I'd like to see one.

I think that Tales of the Abyss/Tales of Vesperia have good sequel/prequel potential, but I'd worry that they'd screw it up considering Tales of's mixed track record on such things.

Uh, the NES game, Sweet Home (inspired Resident Evil) could be its own series, I think.

Cuban history, which often gets muddled a bit due to the USA's interests in Cuba's affairs. Suffice it to say that a lot of Cuban Americans either were or are descended from supporters of Batista, who Castro overthrew (and there is actually a lot of friction between Cuban Americans who are Batistianos/their descendants and those who aren't). There's more to it than that (a lot more) but I don't really want to be giving you a history lesson and having to wade between what a monumental shitbag Batista was, what douchebaggery Castro did, and how the USA seemed determined to fuck with Cuba at every turn (ended up buying them a lot of loyalty from those who fled due to Batista being overthrown, though). If you want to learn more, I recommend starting by doing some looking up of Batista first for context before learning about the revolution or you won't understand what exactly happened and why.

And like teddy said- you really shouldn't conflate Mexican/South American immigrants and refugees with Cuban Americans. They are very different.

Some of their songs were really interesting, imo. Dunno if that's what you're looking for, though.

I don't really consider them country? but there's Nickel Creek, and I like some of their stuff quite a bit, like their song "When in Rome."

Uh, the guy who was the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish does country, I think. Darius Rucker I think his name is. I haven't listened to his solo stuff though.

Sorry, I'm just not all that familiar with country. Uh, there's that a capella group on Youtube, Home Free.

I lean more towards bluegrass than country and I don't even listen to that a lot. I've been meaning to broaden my musical tastes though. Should really get on that.
