Nice draw. I got Edge's G+, which I was excited about until I realized he has two and I got the elemental weakness one not the tri-element one.

I still haven't figured out what selections would actually help me. Although I do run out of awakenings in the Argent Odin fight, my main problem seems to be staying alive rather than dealing damage. Cloud's sync would let me get started earlier though so that might do it, but I'm reluctant to spend my only sync pick there. Zack's awakening would get me some extra damage, just not sure it would be enough.

Good point. Still a decent combo but not as good, I think I can rule her out. Forgot to mention Zack is a contender for helping with Argent Odin and Dreambreaker. He might actually be a top option.

Alright, I tried Earth weak Argent Odin to help me make my sync pick and see if I need Rydia. I got him below 20% with a team of Red XIII (Chain/Awakening/HA), Rinoa (Sync, AASB1+2+HA combo), Maria (Awakening/G+/USB), Elarra, and Cait Sith. I wasn't too convinced Red's HA would be that good because the imperil only lasts for 5 seconds, but it's actually nuts. With doublecast (from awakening) and quickcast from Allegro and Elarra USB, he gets plenty of imperiling. I'm not sure how much of an upgrade Rydia with Sync+Awakening would be over Maria with just awakening. I'll probably try a few more times and see if I can do it with what i have before making my pick.

What should I grab for my awakenings? I have 2 picks. Ones I'm considering:

• Edge - I have his sync and he's viable in 3 elements both magic and physical. Seems strong.
• Galuf - Have his chain, this lets him contribute damage for Odin and Dreambreaker.
• Terra (wind) - Favoritism, and she can combo both awakenings to triplecast her HA. This would be mostly for magic wind Odin... but I do already have awakenings for Fujin and Ultimecia, she'd be replacing one of them.
• Aerith - help with Dreambreaker, and maybe as a healer for Odins
• Garnet - She is my lightning magic chain wielder, let her deal damage
• Other healer for DB?

Any thoughts?

I suggest you try it out first since that will help you see what you need to beat it. That way you'll still have picks available... much better than taking something you don't need.

Have you tried the fight yet? Personally I'm having more trouble with staying alive than with doing damage right now so I'm not sure. It does seem like finishing him with with just the two awakenings I have (Cloud and Zidane) is going to be tough.

What sync should I take? Noctis is the only one with an ATB trick, so him? Rydia is a favorite and has the Sync/Awakening combo and helps with more immediate needs (2nd Odin, and IV torment coming soon). Cloud could be an option but I don't know if I need both his sync and awakening.

Wow, insanely good pulls. Congrats.

I got Argent Odin to 45% just now, and that was with no chain from 70% to 45% because Zack died right before he needed to refresh it. So subbing out Tyro for Orran works. I think Zack would have lived if I had been smart and just spammed my HP stock commands instead of trying to get fancy and use his sync. I really should hone the awakening, but I just know I'll pull dupes in the fest if I do it now.

I gave Odin a try with my physical wind team, damn that guy is bulky! And anti-heal is rough. I had him just above 70% on my first try. I was using Tyro as my support because Cloud needs to be entrusted since he uses so much SB, and because Orran's fastcast is less useful with Zidane who has built in instacast. But I might need Orran to get around antiheal. Anyway, it seems like a fun new challenge.

Aw yeah, I cleared the Cid Raines Dreambreaker. I got the first magicite draw ticket, used it on XIII, and got Vanille's USB4 (Elarra-type). Gave the Dreambreaker another try and with that fastcast it was enough to get through.

Alright, I brought Raines below 20%. But then he went back over 20% with his Dreambreaker Curasa and I only got the sub 30% rewards. :/

Lightning's AASB1/AASB2 combo is as amazing as you've heard, expecially if you have both her doublecast LMRs. With that you have a 56.25% chance of 3 casts, 38.75% chance of 4 casts, and 5% chance of 5 casts. I also got great damage from her LBO without honing when I think he was on savage level 2. This one might actually be beatable with better timing, since I wasted two whole rounds before countering the phase 3 dreambreaker full break. Phase 3 is tough though when the AASBs wear out and I have just Lightning's sync (with the wrong element armor) to try to carry me through.

I've been trying to just get to 50% in the XIII Dreambreaker and that is one extremely unfair fight. None of that easy Ultimate Full Break stuff the newer fights have. Dreambreaker Full Break on turn 4, and another one at the beginning of phase 2, followed but Dreambreaker stop (with high mind) and a party dispel. And then he puts two characters to sleep as well. Holy crap.

I'm just waiting for powercreep on these dreambreakers, not going to kill myself trying to beat something that's such a pain. I still haven't even cleared the VII dreambreaker yet.

Yeah, Cerberus is a huge pain because of the ice resistance move he keeps using, even with Laguna imperiling. I thought my ice team was good but he crushed it. If you have the tools to use other elements it's worth a try, it made things so much easier to use a weaker team with Rinoa, Fujin, and Ultimecia.

I would wait. The Dreambreaker missions don't give that many rat tails. If I remember it's like 1/10 of the amount you can get from the regular weekly missions.

I: I have WoL AASB, and not a whole lot else
II: Maria and Emperor AASBs here
III: Luneth and OK AASBs, good healing stuff for Arc
IV: Got a 33.21 kill on D???, so just some tweaking here I think
VI: That sleep attack is worrisome, but Celes and Terra AASBs can carry the damage, Mog AASB to support
IX: Zidane AASB with Quina AASB as support. Have Vivi and Kuja's AASBs as well, though not sure how I'd work them in
XI: Shantotto and Ayame AASBs as DPS, Aphmau AASB for healing
XII: Ashe AASB yolo damage
XIV: Same as above, but Alph instead
T0: Got some newer stuff recently, including Rem AASB, so may have a shot here

Any Awakening should be good enough for Torment since they were released in the USB era.

Alright! Pretty happy with this for now. I got to use the Rinoa AASB1+AASB2+HA combo which was pretty solid. Would have been even better if I hadn't let Mage's Hymn fall off there near the end.

Cerberus's ridiculous Dampen Cold moves made me wonder if it was worth it to run an ice team, considering that I was also dealing with the trouble of a mixed magic/physical team. Rinoa is my strongest character in the realm in either element (I have both syncs and both awakenings) so I tried running a team with Rinoa using earth and Fujin and Ultimecia (my other two magic awakenings in the realm, who also both have solid USBs). On my second attempt I did 72% which is already 10% better than my best run with the ice team. Staying alive in phase 3 is tough though, I wasn't able to get Selphie's awakening (with the damage reduction) online fast enough. Either I use it in phase 1 and it runs out before phase 3, or I user her USB1 in phase 1 and don't get enough SB to use the awakening in time since I have to use her other USB to block berserk in phase 2.

Maybe Selphie's HA is the answer, but 1500 HP medica seems so low. I'm not sure if it's enough.

Cerberus Dreambreaker is tough. No AI script posted yet makes it tougher. There are some back to back instant AOE attacks early in phase 3 that are really tough, those have been triggering reraise for the whole team which basically ends the run. I started out using Orran but I kinda need Tyro's crit fixing to let Squall/Laguna break level 3 rage consistently. But I definitely miss the fastcasting when I'm using Tyro. Also I learned the hard way that Rinoa's USB1 and glint don't work with her Sync and HA at all. Her kit's kinda awkward even though I have most of the modern stuff. Her HA's kinda weak too... compared to a basic 6 hit black magic HA like Maria or Ace has both a significantly lower multiplier AND slower cast time.

I'm not really sure what I would take if I did the dream select. Zack would probably get me the sub 30 on FF7 dreambreaker but I should be able to beat it without him. Same for Aerith. Maybe Edge because I have his sync and he's a multi element monster in both magical and physical now.

I didn't realize they were stopping 2g5 on weeklys completely, although I knew some of them were going to be step-up banners in the fiture. It's been a long time since I did a 2g5 banner 2 since the B1s seem much more powerful these days with syncs and stuff. But I still like the idea of 2g5 on banner 2 if they just raised the power level a bit. Oh well. With the stamps thing being part of the next 2 fests I'm probably going to be pretty much only drawing in fests for a while.

Beat Alexander with my magic team, just lost one attempt because I forgot how the mechanics worked, and then won on the second one. Golbez's sync command 2 made it pretty easy to control holy power level (and I used Kuja's brave ability once). Four left to go: magic Ifrit, physical Shiva, magic Valefor, and magic Diabolos.

Yay, I just finished physical Ramuh too. 40.67. It was a little messy but Gladiolus is a total powerhouse.

Seems like the game is totally borking my phone now though. Ever since I upgraded to Android 11, any time I leave or finish a long fight, the whole device completely locks up for a couple minutes. Anyone else having that?

While Orran is definitely good I think the main thing that makes him "godlike" is that he counters the gimmicks of the upcoming top end content. His sync counters DB Full Break. You can only do it once, but all future DBs only use Dreambreaker Full Break once and use Ultimate Full Break (which you can probably ignore) the other times. Bahamut will also use something like this I guess. Orran's AASB gives HP stock (6000 on entry and 3000 as a chase to every white magic/bard ability), and White Odin uses antiheal, which affects normal healing but not HP stock. Aside from that the only thing special about him is the physical quickcast ability - he's the only one with a spamable ability, but plenty of healers have soul breaks that give you lots of quickcast. Plus some attackers with Marche-like team fastcast triggers.

If you only have his Sync the only thing I would use him for right now is Dreambreakers... and Tyro is probably better for most of the current ones that have multiple DB Full break uses.

How many awakenings/syncs did you have? I have Gladiolus's Sync/Awakening now but I'm still kind of afraid of Ramuh. My Galuf has nothing besides his chain (and old lensable relics) and my other options aren't that great... Yuffie's mediocre non-doublecast awakening, Ingus's awakening, or Bartz with BSBs + AASB1, I think that's it. Edit: I also have Cinque's awakening, forgot that one.

The good news is his Awakening and G+ both return next fest but his sync does not. So if you have the sync you can still draw for the other ones.

Man, Zalera is still tough. I got him below 10% which is better than before, but phase 3 is rough and Orran doesn't really have the same healing capabilities as someone like Elarra. I might need to go 2 white mage and use one of them to cast holyja plus emergency medica duty. I would like fastcast from Marche and the damage would be even lower... but things are going decently fast with Orran's HA and TG Cid always being in thunder god mode.

With that you should definitely be able to do it. I can't see what happened, but I know the last phase puts you on a pretty tight clock, so make sure you don't use up all your awakenings before then. Also it can be good to try to time your AOSBs when he's right above the phase 3 threshold so that you shorten phase 3.
