the only things i know of that 100% libertarians agree on from the ones i personally know are legal drugs, guns, limited government and not giving a shit about what type of person you are (race, gender ect.). hit or miss when it comes to other stuff like abortion, foreign power ect.
TopicOkay, so in America you need to pay for medical treatment, right?

the whole system is reletively fucked and overly convoluted and it DOES need a redo, but as mentioned the horror stories tend to be VASTLY overstated. iv had health insurance of all types for most of my life of which iv paid no more than $20 a month on (or $0) and i think the highest amount iv ever had to pay for any one visit/emergency (including surgery on my wrist) was $100.

when it comes to the actual bills in most cases the system cant force you to pay anything and they cant decline you care either. you may get a phone call a few times a week for the rest of you life, but you arnt going to go to jail or get into trouble if you cant pay anything. theres also a lot of outreach programs if youre willing to go that extra mile that will literally pay off everything (i dont like that it comes down to that, but you arnt fucked like most on the outside think).

my grandfather never had insurance and has wracked up a $200k+ bill over his life. he pays them a $5 check every month just to shut them up. he'll be paying for the rest of his life, but he has never went into debt over it either and has still lived his life about as well as he could have.
TopicIs there any merit that armed civilians will stop mass shooters?

theres tons of instances of civilians defending themselves with firearms. the issue with "mass shooters" is that they tend to be stopped before any serious casualties occur so they cease to be labeled a mass shooting to begin with. combined with most mass shootings taking place in areas where guns are more restricted and have less likelihood of an armed citizen being present to even increase the probability of them doing anything.

not everyone also carries a gun. there are something like 20million concealed carry holders in the country, but most are not carrying 24/7 or are restricted in where they can due to wanting to also fallow the law. they also tend to be more in rural and smaller town areas with less in larger cities (in part to it being more difficult to get a gun legally in those areas) which is where most mass shootings occur.

basicaly you actually have to have an armed citizen be present to even qualify in an event thats already an extremely low probability.
