PE is definitely the more unique game, but it also REALLY depends on what you want. DC is a pretty hardcore survival horror game thats fairly unforgiving. its definitely good for what it is, but id say you really have to have a taste for survival horror games and what they typically bring to the table. that said as a SH game its quite good and has some neat features you dont see a lot of in other SH games (especially at the time) like branching events, ammo crafting, alternate puzzle solutions and the dino's are extremely intimidating enemies making for an overall intense time.

PE is a more horror-esque rpg hybrid game with a big emphasis on story and atmosphere, which are both very good as well as its sound design which adds to it being a more unique "experience". combat is fun in that its a mix of a real time and almost turn based battle system although highly repetitive and pretty easy. also has a really cool weapon making system though first time through you probably wont see just how involved it can get. it is shockingly short for the type of game it is (~10hours) and doesnt really have much replay value, but the journey is an interesting one when you factor in the unique battle system and overall presentation. also has one of the best intro videos in any game.
TopicJust started playing Deus Ex: Human revolution. This combat is clunky.

the combat is actualy pretty good and satisfying when you get a handle on it, but you really need to treat it almost like a mil-sim cover shooter (think rainbow six vegas). you need to be very methodical and make your shots count especially in the opening several hours of the game when you dont have a ton of abilities yet. ALWAYS be in cover if youre going to shoot.

and remember this game was built with options in mind for atleast 95% of it. if it feels like you cant progress doing it one way there WILL be another way (and usually more than that) that you can either by thinking outside the box or some way youve never found yet. you have a ton of options in this game.

premade on the cheap you can go the PSA route and others like Windham weaponry. they offer both kinds of versions. other than that you can really get what ever you want and slap on the attachments to it to make it look how you want. The AR platform is famous for that level of customization so you can mix and match literally what ever you feel like as long as they are AR15 parts.

if you dont want to build and you want something quality when places like BCM and FN offer those kinds of builds as well (or they used to). tho expect a $1200-1600 price on them. you also might get lucky and find a classic m16a1 retro build made my Colt for under $2000.

but as i said you can build it if you cant find a premade rifle. just remember to make sure its a 20" government profile barrel with the classic A2 front sight. a full length non-adjustable A2 stock and optionally depending on how far you want to look a classic retro upper receiver with a NON-removable carry handle (basically the handle is built into the receiver). then just pick out those builky handgaurds you want for it and slap'em on. boom, m16a2/a1 clone.

no ones going to rock that boat with the senate still undecided. even if D's got everything they really only have 2 years to push anything through and theres WAY more important issues right now than guns. plus you have the SC to deal with so if anything does get through it most likely wont be anything major like an AWB. more higher profile laws like those also wont go well in todays political climate where literally everyone is buying a gun now.

that said i wouldnt trust anyone when it comes to gun control. the senate is going to be so close that they might be able to flip seats on smaller or more disguised laws of which some of the stuff bidens group are trying to peddle are even more dangerous than an AWB, but most arnt on the up and up of how the gun system works so they may think its a non-issue on the service or use them as "compromise" proposals.

i paid $300 for a citizen watch, but that was more of an SHTF deal for something tough that i could put in a BoB that would last. other than that iv never spent more than $20 on an every day carry one.

for guns that depends, do you mean the gun itself or all the shit thats put on it too? for the gun itself either my Benelli M4 or SR15 E3, both came out to around $1800. if you include extras then the sr15 by far which tops out around $3500.

1 is great as long you can stomach repetitive environments and enemies. great atmosphere that can be genuinely creepy, satisfying shooting and effects, great AI, amazing sound design, intriguing story. first expansion is good albeit feeling like a retread with the second expansion being OK.

2 fixes up some of the first ones faults (environments, enemies, general gameplay mixup), but also takes a step back in others (weaker AI, neutered controls/abilities. very noticeably designed around consoles unlike the first which was built around pc). still good with most of the positives of the first one and a solid continuation of the firsts interesting story.

3 is mediocre at best. competent shooting with one or two interesting sequences and some interesting coop/multiplayer concepts. story is butchered, level design is boring, half the length of the first two games (which were already short). not terrible, but you can very easily tell the devs of 1 and 2 didnt work on 3 and that it started to succumb to the generic shooter fatigue of the early 2010's.

how much is too much in terms of a firearm? if $400 is too pricey you can still find surplus handguns in the $250 range along with hi-points around $200 and long guns like single shot 12, 20 or 410ga shotguns or .22's (dont under estimate them) in the $150 areas, maybe less if you check out the pawn shops.

you can get some pretty cheap deterrents. stuff like fake cameras you can put up outside under the rain gutters. automatic light switches that turn on and off at certain times, beware of dog or home security signs (do NOT use "guns inside" or "you will be shot" ones). if you want to go a little extra you can put security film on your windows and replace your door/hinges, locks and frames with steel ones. and obviously a real security system. lastly a good ol 12ga under your bed always makes one feel nice and cozy.

revolvers are still fast as hell to fire and cops would most likely carry 7-8shot .357's now. with moon clips you can also load them pretty fast with practice. they wouldnt be spraying bullets everywhere, but if they hit, one or MAYBE two .357 rounds anywhere on someones torso is going to put them down. its not like a 9mm where you can find videos of people taking half a dozen or more before going down. it might effect if they should use their weapons more, but probably not as much as youd think.

you really dont even need to do much to make a difference. walk around a little more (like if you have to take a few things in the next room only take one so you have to walk back for the other things) and cut back on the portions you eat. you dont even need to completely cut out stuff like suger or carbs (obviously it dramatically helps), just cut down on how much of it you eat. you can lose a few pounds a week pretty effortlessly doing so.
