Everyone's Grudge: Damages a party member based on the missing HP of the Tonberry (eg. Tonberry has 10/10 hp. Now it has 2/10 hp. Everyone's Grudge hits for 8 damage). Couple this with the fact that Tonberries generally have absurdly high HP counts to kill, it may just outright kill a party member.

The entire Trance system is a mess and the game would lose next to nothing if it was removed. It's like it was not playtested

feels like it was a reaction on how Limit Breaks from VII/VIII breaks the game especially on VIII, they purposely making it not as good. but they overdid t and making it really suck.
then X making Limit/Overdrive good again without breaking the game early.

even FFIX fans won't deny that the battles are too slow, especially the battle intro that takes 5 seconds before you can input a command.
but on the other hand, almost every other aspect of the game (excluding OST, player's personal taste on aesthetics, etc) is better than VIII.
