You gotta go there anyway but I tried early and I was getting one shot by just about everything. Your best bet is to go East once you start. Learn as many ways to beat enemies as possible. The fun of the game comes from being able to beat enemies in unique ways depending on the situation. I wish I could interact with the characters and shit now that the story is over, but its a Zelda game and thats to be expected at this point.
