I think the legitimacy of the current NBA and NHL seasons are more in question because they just stopped and started again. Although they aren't actually in question because we know who the good teams are and who the bad teams are, and both leagues have a format to decide which bubble teams will make the playoffs and which won't. But still, players know what to expect with a shortened season, they don't know what to expect with a season that stops and starts again. And then you can start talking about the 1981 MLB season or the 1982 NFL season, neither of which is called illegitimate by anyone. The 1987 season gets talked about a bit more because they actually used replacement players, but it gets talked about for the novelty of the replacement players rather than the legitimacy of the season. --- Shenmue II = best game of all time Shenmue = 2nd best game of all time |
