If people wanted progressive policies they would vote for progressive candidates. Exit polls showed that for many people whether a candidate "could beat Trump" was a higher priority than their policy objectives. There are certainly some problems with "policy polling" (you can get wildly different answers depending on how you phrase the question), but the idea that people are completely policy driven when selecting candidates is untrue. --- |

In "real" debates, the ground materials are usually established because arguing over studies that only one side has seen before is inherently unhelpful, because if you just cite a source that I haven't seen I have no idea what it actually says. --- |
