So before I go back to Route 12, I get Surf from my rival which I give to Pelipper! I release Jellicent and then catch another Tauros and called it Mike Jordan.

Cool man from Indiana gives me... Numel. Actually, I may have more use for this than I do for Beautifly.... So yeah. Replacing Beautifly with Numel now! Depending on how he works out, maybe he replaces Dugtrio.

Wait this random dude is just giving me a Lapras? OKAY. I called it Surf Slave. Trading time!

Alright, so I'll go ahead and release the Thundurus and then re-catch a Pokey on Route 12!

I do a good job rolling through the gym and then I get to the gym leader! Miephoo or whatever gets bodied by Butterfree despite the leader using Hyper Potions. And then Machoke comes out and USES ROCK TOMB FUCK BUTTERFREE IS DEAD WHY DOES IT HAVE ROCK TOMB FUCK YOU.

Uggggh I kill the Machoke with my Pelipper and then kill the Hawlucha with Raichu. Where did the Lucarios go!? I had Dugtrio primed and ready! ...Oh she's saving it for the tower I guess. Alright.

Ffffffdd I'm going to wonder trade again to replace the hacked Pokey to see what I get. I go back to Route 12 and catch a Slowpoke and call it Dummy Thicc.

Kota from Indiana sends me... Starvia. Meeeeeeh gonna just go with Beautifly and pretend like the Butterfree thing never happened.

Caught up to where I was after Reflection Cave or whatever. There's an area that feels like in the future I can do something with it.

But it can be summarized as Pelipper and Dugtrio carry. Wobbafett sucks. That's it! I replaced Seaking (fuck no) with Mightyena since Pelipper kind of does all the water stuff.

Oh and I gave Dugtrio Dig. Yeeeeah. I catch another Luvdisc on the way to the big tower and call it AlmityFlat and then Wonder Trade!

Got Breloom to 30. Get the fuck out of here Skitty and Togepi. It's time for Pikachu and Sealing (fuck yeah). And then I go through the moral quandary of whether or not to evolve my Pikachu because it can be good on its own and FUCK THAT WE GOT RAICHU.

The Roommate
On Netflix

So this movie is trash of the highest caliber. I never saw it until now but I remember it coming out. I like Aly Michalka a lot from iZombie though and said "Hey, I wonder what her likely awful first cinematic movie was." It was beyond awful.

The Roommate is about a girl who moves into college and her roommate is obsessive and clingy to a crazy degree.

This is a movie that, like Ma, feels like it went through many bad scripts. This movie, make no mistake, has no saving grace like Octavia Spencer. This movie is just so unbelievably shitty.

The roommate girl is just a psychopath. No reason given, except "lol she's off her meds". No trauma or anything which could elevate this complete shit show. Just... she isn't taking her drugs! Okay! But then there's nothing she does that's scary. It's just creepy bullshit and laughably bad proclamations like "Ugh you should have called me I was worried sick." Like bitch what? This is just dumb, not scary. Not thrilling. Just bad.

There is nothing in this movie that can even come close to a scare. The climax is pitifully weak, and you just don't have any reason to sympathize with psycho roommate. You just go "Oh, okay I hate this girl who is troubled because you don't give me any sort of reason why she's troubled."

And then the girl and her love interest have zero chemistry and just the most cringe dialogue ever and nothing feels natural and WOW it's bad.

The movie is just impressively bad. No bite. No depth. Nothing to even try to say. It's just an awful movie and doesn't deserve any sort of appreciation. I give it a pitifully low score because of it. It's the "At least it's not feardotcom" score.

So I backtracked a bit to get a few items I missed in the mountain area not too much. And then when I try going to Geosomething City or whatever, Team Flare is in the way! Fortunately my team is pretty ace now. Geodude becomes Graveler now! So here's my question:

Should I be allowed to trade Graveler back and forth to get Golem?

So I get back to Geosage and then hey guess what fuck this girl's two Lucarios sideways. One crit and killed my Pidgeotto. And almost killed Butterfree. FUCK. And it was just increasing it's attack a lot and then I had nothing that could do significant damage to it so I just used Breloom with Counter. God damnit.

Ugggh I did not want to replace a Pokey right now. Fine, I'm going to stick Togepi in there and hope Togepi gets leveled up enough to be useful. Alternatively I'm just going to wait until 30 so I can get Seaking.

NOOOOO I fought a Sigilyph and it killed my Linoone with a critical Psybeam and nothing else I have can survive this bullshit God damnit not another one why! And then it used Psybeam and killed my Graveler what is happening!? Holy shit I am on shambles right now what do I even do? Breloom had to be the one to headbutt it. What the FUCK.

I cannot even believe any of this. I have to put Beautifly and Dugtrio on my team now. My options are so fucking limited. Until Breloom hits 30. I can't handle this now.

I go and catch a Dedenne and name it FML in honor of my run. ...Wait it won't let me name it FML. Lmao Eff Em El it is! I pray for good Wonder Trade.

Yo pro tip for anyone going to Universal Studios Orlando when Florida isn't a hell hole, get the pass that lets you hit up each park in a day. Stay at Cabana Bay.

In the mornings, wake up at a decent hour and then walk over to Volcano Bay, the water park, with your special pass that lets you there 2 hours before it officially opens, hang out there for like 2-3 hours before people even come into the water park and ride everything with little wait once or twice daily, then spend the rest of your day hitting up the other parks.

When you go to the parks, do Harry Potter early if you're going to do Harry Potter at all. During the day, you aren't getting on without a wait.

Download the app and walk to the rides with the least wait time. You can luck out and gets a 15 minute wait for like the Hulk Coaster or something. Even if you're going to a different park, it's still worth it.

And don't eat park food. It's all absolute dog shit that's over priced. Save it for City Walk food that's a bit pricier but actually quality or eat at the Cabana Bay resort for cheap but good meals. You won't regret it. The only exception is the one restaurant in the Lost Continent, it's actually pretty good and known for having good food.

When I took my job in California, it was a monumentally better offer, but the job I actually got in Pennsylvania gave me one day to decide, and in case the CA job fell through, I needed to take the PA one. I worked there for four days, flew out, and signed my contract in CA and then quit on Monday. I felt bad about it, but I had to do it.

After being jerked around by jobs enough, you come to realize there's no point in being loyal. You need to look out for yourself, because if push comes to shove they'd look out for themselves before you. Don't be beholden to any business. Do what's best for you, even if it screws them over. They'll make due.

Shows how much I play Pokemon then! My reaction has been that those two are the standouts and then everything else has been "These are Pokemon songs." Which isn't bad to me, but they hit me in nostalgia.

I should probably mention I played RBY and GS to completion, I got as far as I mentioned in XY in the OP, and then nothing else from the main line games. So that's pretty much the entirety of my experience now.

I'm enjoying the added challenge of a Wonderlocke though! I'm finding myself slightly disappointed that it does seem pretty easy, as other people said. Like, even with me having to level multiple Pokemon from low levels to catch up with the rest of my team, I still feel like not a lot of challenge is there until I run into a surprise Kadabra or I get completely bodied by next level Dunsparce strats.

I put back in Beedrill. I was going to put in the panda brawler thing but then I saw that Shroomish evolves into a Grass/Fighting type and I'm all about that. Lol

I give Linoone Strength tho. Fight a Psychic trainer. "Wow! You and your Pokemon's power levels are incredible! They're over 9,000 for sure!" Some localization member is super proud of that one.

WELL BYE BEEDRILL. Some Dunsparce had Ancient Power and then knocked him down a lot, and then I tried to switch to Linoone and it used Pursuit. Fucking hell. Skitty makes it back in as a result.

Basically, I don't want to invest time into grinding another Pokey up until I get Geodude matched with everyone else. Then honestly I don't know who else to put there. Reeeeally wish I was at level 30 to use some of those guys by now.

What? Shroomish is evolving!? I got me a Breloom now thank goodness good news now. Oh baby we got that MACH PUNCH now. One shorted an Eevee with it right after. I love it.

I made it to Geosage Town now so I'm going to go back and do the gym! I went to the connecting cave or whatever and then almost lost Geodude and Skitty to a fucking asshole Lvl 13 Axew who had Dragon Rage. Who is the asshole who made that call holy shit. So no we're doing the gym first before I backtrack. Ffs.

Anyway, I guess I need to climb the Astrocrag now to get my gym badge. Here is a summary of the Gym: Breloom fucking carries. If I can't Mega Drain it to death, I Mach Punch it to death. Gym leader was so easy and I mostly got Breloom overleveled for him entirely because he beat every enemy on the way up to the leader. He went from like 23-27. Breloom is now my favorite.

So I'll just ask then, what should I do from here? Should I bother with Battle Chateau stuff? I'm going to backtrack and do some stuff I know I missed with the mountain area for sure. Kiiiind of holding out until level 30 to get Seaking and Pikachu in on this action.

Ma
On Some Weird App My GF Used

I've seen this movie before but my girlfriend really wanted to see it again. And it's still... Meh.

Ma is about a woman bullied as a child coercing a bunch of teens into partying in her basement and also she's kind of crazy and obsessed.

Like I said, it's kinda meh. If it weren't for Octavia Spencer's acting, this movie would be entirely forgettable. But she's an amazing actress and carries the film.

This movie feels like it was butchered into a script like ten drafts over because it's such a disjointed mess of a movie that has characters feel like they once played a bigger part, or they only put characters in for plot purposes.

Barring that, it's just not very interesting, and I feel like there's parts of this movie that, in prior scripts, gave us more development for a character who kind of gets murdered in a way that seems unnecessary? Like we're supposed to be in favor of him dying even though what he did was when he was a teenager and he's a grown ass man now. It was literally more than half his life ago, but it feels like a scene or two was cut that made us think he was an asshole still who deserved death.

There is so little that goes on here overall though and you really wish there was more insane bullshit going on by the end of it.

A dull, forgettable film carried by an all-star actress. That's all this is. But it's still enough to give it a decent score.

I took my fossil back to get turned into a Pokey. I got a Tyrunt wich it doesn't let me change the name of. Aww. Oh well! Time to trade!

Lmao my first trainer battle now and it's a Smeargle and I'm like nbd. BUT OH WAIT IT HAS EMBER AND BRICK BREAK. Literally all of my Pokemon are two types weak to both of those attacks. I made it through though.

But good news! Zigzagoon has evolved into a Linoone. That feels like a downgrade in name and style.

But I catch a Roselia after so I can Wonder Trade again. I named it Kissed By A.

Alex from Germany deigns to give me....... A Level 3 Pidgey. There is one positive to this, and it's that I can box Illumise finally.

I got terrified when I ran into a dual battle with two Smeargle but they all did shit damage so it was easy.

Oh and I found... The Battle Chateau? Okay I guess let me know if I should seriously fight in this thing and at what point.

Wait I accidentally fought some chick with a Ladyba. And then a chick with a Flabebe! I'm thinking this is just going to be a grinding spot.

I go forward and an unfortunate combo of those losers Trevor and Tierno want to fight me and I guess my rival? I say unfortunate because Pikachu could've wrecked me and Corphish with Sword Dance was scary. I used Linoone to wreck Pikachu and then Beautifly came in to mop up everyone else.

I went into a cave and I caught a Whismur I called Screm. Time to Wonder Trade it!

The Wonder Trader is Justin from Wisconsin who gives me... Poochyena. Unfortunately, I have a Mightyena waiting in the wings so I re-trade!

Igwan3 from Wallonia, Belgium gives me... Shroomish? I have never heard of this Pokemon in my entire life but I love him because it's not Normal or Bug type (presumably). I was able to verify it is indeed a Level 5 Grass type.

OH NO AN AXEW ALMOST ONE SHOTTED MY PIDGEY. Oh my God please don't kill my Pokeys with unique types. Thankfully this battle allowed it to evolve to a Pidgeotto!

On Route 8 I caught an Absol, took one look at it's fucked up head and called it Venom Snake. And we trade!

My Wonder Trade partner this go around is ironically Boss from Sweden. He gave me a Roselia! Now I guess I'm cursed to get Grass types too.

Oh no these trainers have level 19 Pokeys now. I basically book it to the Ambrette Town because I'm a hungry boy.

But when I get there I make the call for my team... I decide to replace Beautifly with Shroomish. I'm sorry Beautifly. You've been here from the start. But Butterfree is basically you and I don't need your grass attack anymore. Not sure if I replace anyone with Roselia though, but I went with Shroomish to avoid another Poison type.

Alright I'm back in it. I go to find the dog Pokey and then I find... Cut. And I'm like Tessa's finally Illumise has a purpose!

Jk Illumise can't use it because it's fucking worthless.

Anyway, they decide to have a fireworks show because they found their dog lost in the hedge maze. Rich people are strange. I got the Poke Flute though so I can deal with Snorlax for the umpteenth time.

And good lord was he making it a challenge to catch him. Used Zigzagoon to take down his health and then Skitty to whittle him down and sleep him. I called him Eggman.

Time for another WONDER TRADE. Kakiri from Oregon gives me........ A Level 5 Zigzagoon. Lol Re-Trade!

Ash from Florida (not the same as the Anime character) gave me a Pikachu! Okay! Okay! Okay! I'll take a new type! But he's level 30. So I can't use him. This rule is kind of screwing me over. Lol

Yeeeeah that death was entirely on me not being savvy enough. I just wish it was like anyone else. Like Illumise. I had thought that the Ghost type would cancel out the Poison weakness by resisting which is not the case. He had nearly killed my Beedrill in that fight which is why I even swapped in the first place (again, I thought that Bug type resists to counter the Poison weakness).

I think I ended up finishing him off with Zigzagoon with Headbutts. But I really need to look at my team to see who has the best Special Defense stat I think.

I need to be real. I haven't even touched Illumise at all for a long time because Illumise is going to be the first dropped after I get a better replacement since I got Butterfree up there.

Illumise just doesn't feel worth the investment. So I'm praying I don't lose anyone else so I don't need to waste anything on it.

So here is where I pray I get something better again. I went to the cafe so my friend can say "lol let's be rivals" and also creepy dude with fiery red hair too. Idk. The story isn't super interesting.

But I went to Route 5 and caught a Furfrou and called it Westminster.

Wonder Trading with someone from Japan and... I get a Seaking...? I mean, I'll take the water type, but it's level 30 and given my own rule, I can't use it until I get another Pokey there. And by then who knows if I'll get better?

And oh hey some asshole had a Kadabra and murdered my Ghastly in one hit despite being four levels higher because I thought he was resistant or at least neutral to psychic attacks holy shit I'm livid. He was my one really good get here and he's gone.

Guess you made it off the bench Caterpie, you piece of trash. Fuck. It leveled fast at least and I got Confusion for another attack type.

So like I said, Beedrill w/ Zigzagoon beat the gym pretty easily. I'm investing a lot in Beedrill for some reason and I feel like that's a bad idea. But oh well.

I went to Route 4 after that and then caught a Level 8 Budew and named it Like Buddy, in case people didn't get the play on the name. Time to Wonder Trade!

Someone from Okinawa, Japan traded me.... OMG THANK YOU MERCIFUL JESUS. Got a Japanese-named Ghastly! He's level 1 but that's okay. I got another non-bug or normal type yeeeeah.

Quick question though: is there a way to evolve Haunter into Gengar or do I still need to go through the annoying process of trading somehow? I loathe that system.

Alright, so I went over to Route 22 to grind and get a new Pokey. My Kakuna evolved into Beedrill, which was great, and then I caught a Bunnelby I named Lola Rabbit.

So I Wonder Traded it away to Noah from New York who gave me <Insert Japanese Characters Here> the Level 13 Illumise. ...Exciting. Another bug type. And this one has the added bonus of not having any attacks. I kinda hate this.

I'm also adding a rule that I'm only allowed to use a Wonder Traded Pokey if I have another Pokemon I've leveled to their level to avoid cheesing with higher level Pokeys.

Which I solved by getting my Pokeyz to the highest level one I have with 14!

I'm about to tackle the Bug Gym Leader despite having no powers that can actually stomp them or anything, but no time like the present. Here's the squad:

X and Y are stupid easy. I would recommend not using it unless you want things to be easier, or atleast give yourself a challenge.

I feel this vibe. I abused the hell out of my friend in the woods to heal my Pokemon but in my defense my team is straight trash right now.

However, good stuff happened! I got everyone to 8+ now and my Weedle evolved into a Kakuna and more importantly, my Wurmple evolved into a Silcoon, which is good so I won't have a second Bug/Poison type!

But I caught a level 5 Fletchling on Route 3 and then called it FletchHappen because I'm not going to make Fletch Happen.

So I Wonder Traded FletchHappen and found Sammy in the United States who traded me... A level 14 Zigzagoon. Man, it's hard to really express how little I care about having a Zigzagoon.

Anyway, I go through the rest of Route 3 and then my Silcoon evolved into a Beautifly! And I get Absorb for it, so at least there's another attack type.

And now I'm in Santalune City. I feel like I want to go to the next area and see if I can get another Pokey before I try the gym leader here. Also, I have no idea where stuff is in this game, so any help on good items is appreciated!

So what I did was I grinded my Wurmple and Weedle to Level 5 before I even looked at that trainer at the end of Route 2. I killed him easily with Wurmple somehow and then finally went into the forest where I caught a Weedle and named it Weddle.

When I Wonder Traded it away, I found BIKER from France who gave me... B0000000000B the Level 8 Skitty.

I'm glad I got one with a quality name so early. And yes, that's 10 zero's. I'm thankful to have a non-bug type now so I can actually fight Flying types now.

Okay, so I began and I go through the beginning stuff. Do you guys care? The important thing is that my name is Biz and all my friends will refer to me as L'il B.

I picked a Chespin and named it Biscuit. Man it felt nice to fight my rival with a good Pokey at the start there. It goes uphill from here. I also caught myself a Level 3 Scatterbug and called it Not Caterpie.

And now I can Wonder Trade! My first buddy is Liam from Ontario, Canada and he hooked me up with... A level 2 Wurmple.

This is about what I was expecting.

Next up is Not Caterpie. Zander from Tazmania, Australia has given me... A level 3 Weedle.

Hey, so I decided to do this because I felt like playing Pokemon but frankly want to do something unique to keep me hooked in. When I played Pokemon X last, I got 3 badges and ended up with this as my team at around 35.

Talonflame
Doubleblade
Snorunt
Roselia
Tyrunt
Frogadier

And I'm looking forward to probably never actually having those dudes again because it's a Wonder Trade Nuzlocke. Rules are as follows:

• I can catch only one Pokemon per location. Once I catch this Pokey, I have to Wonder Trade it away right after. Which means I even lose my starter.
• After Wonder Trading, I keep the Pokemon I get unless it's in the same evolution line, in which case I can trade it away again.
• I can catch only once per route, per egg if I have to get one, or if there's a special encounter. Again, they get traded away immediately though.

Two questions for the people watching in the topic:

1. Should I use XP share? I dunno how busted that may be.
2. Due to the, uh, 'quality' of Pokemon I expect when I Wonder Trade, I'm debating whether or not I should be allowed to attempt to catch a Pokemon as many times as I want per route. Give me your thoughts.

I have finally read all the posts in this topic.

Eesh. I was actually thinking about doing a randomized nuzlocke run of one of these games. Was thinking about Black/White. Or doing a wondertrade nuzlocke of X/Y but I feel like I wouldn't get anything good from that.

But to add to this topic, I think what disappoints me about the progression is that we're still fighting a bunch of gym leaders and then beating the Elite Four at the end. Which, I kinda get it. It's an easy progression. But they couldn't at least change something up with that?

Even if you gave it a flavor of a region being run entirely by Team Rocket or something and then you get a Pokemon and you have to figure your way through 'leaders' of Team Rocket to help liberate cities until you finally have to fight your way through an 'Elite Four' that promises to do something terrible to the region unless you surrender yourself.

Just spitballing here, and I get why they actually do the "Wow, I want to become a Pokemon trainer and be the bestest there ever was!" story each game, because every Pokemon game is a kid's first Pokemon game. I get it. You have a lot riding on it. Hell, you change the formula and then you have to change the anime too at this point.

But as someone who played and beat the first two gens to completion, the lack of real change to the story never really hooked me to try playing many others. It really does feel like they aren't making the series for long time fans and are just doing it to dig their hooks into a new, young audience each time.

Freaky
In Theaters

So I saw this movie in a drive-thru and... It could have been better.

Freaky is a Freaky Friday movie in which a meek teenager has her body exchanged with a serial killer.

Honestly, this probably could've been a lot better of a movie. It's not bad, and I enjoyed myself, but there felt like something was missing with this.

The first problem is that if you saw the previews, you saw basically all the great stuff with the movie. The funny parts are there, and some lines got me pretty good, but it feels like they could have done more with this concept, because it's so clever.

Vince Vaughn does a great job, and so does Kathryn Newton. Frankly, Kathryn Newton is a breakout star in the making. She's gold in everything I've seen her in. Her one gay friend is also great in this movie and he may have been my favorite character, but I feel like with this concept they absolutely put him in here to avoid backlash for some story elements.

It's a concept where they had an idea, but not a whole lot compelling to do with it? They have some heart-felt moments in it, a couple of which are pretty effective, but there's nothing done really effectively, and if you wanted to do a story with this, I feel like they should have focused on the protagonist and getting her to get brave and assertive rather than the sloppily put together story with her family they had.

Some comedy also felt a bit... Unrealistic? I won't spoil it, but it felt like they wanted to do a few jokes with the concept but it was just... weird how they got there.

If you're a horror fan, you'll enjoy it. It's not something I say you have to go out there and watch. During the weekend, my girlfriend and I watched a couple much more funny horror movies (Ready Or Not which she thought was outstanding, for instance). If you want to relax with something and have an enjoyable enough of a time though, it's worth checking out.
