No matter how many good individual ideas there may be, it's just someone throwing shit at the wall and hoping that it'll stick; there is no cohesion or emotional investment. Just flashy shit made by a social misfit who was bored with his own society, so he resorted to doing social commentary as a means to feel a sense of superiority over those who rejected him. In terms of writing style, it's better than part 4 as it's more focused (less pointless shit) and better than 3 as it's less predictable (more plot developments and twists). The whole series is a work without substance, though; the sooner it ends, the better because it's a waste of time. Still, if you enjoyed the previous parts, no reason not to watch Golden Wind. --- FAM FOREVER. |

The longer it goes, the more contrived it becomes and the less substance it has, as it becomes clearer that it's really just a Japanese pervert's cash cow. This applies to most any long running Shonen. 1. Phantom Blood (best) 2. Battle Tendency 3. Stardust Crusaders 4. Diamond is Unbreakable 5. Golden Wind 6. Stone Ocean 7. Steel Ball Run 8. Jojolion (worst) The correct rankings. However, Jojo was always trash. It just gets worse as it goes along. The peak was the first page, no, the first panel. Actually, the cover. Better yet, it peaked inside of Araki's mind, because he should have never actually created it. --- FAM FOREVER. |
