I don't want to seem like i'm trying to pump up something but HITIF (High Tide - USA Listing) has some solid research and I think it will do good things. I'm in for roughly 50 percent of my portfolio which, i'll admit, is still small.

It's going to be a bit of a long term hold but earnings come out in like 2 weeks and they are expected to be great.

All my schools had a school resource officer. They weren't dangerous schools and it wasn't some ominous thing. For the most part it just seemed like they were there to make everyone "feel" safer if that makes any sense, and the students all knew them in the same way they knew school staff. I assume they are there to step in to make arrests where needed (like for drugs or other paraphernalia), but i doubt they are needed most of the time

That's kind of what I was asking. Why not let the police be on the street where he's needed and we don't have to pay him 50,000 bucks a year. We can pay someone 15 bucks an hour to just look tough if it has the same effect.

I've never been in a school that had cops so I'm trying to wrap my head around it all while having no experience....

Why does it have to be cops in the school? Why not find some big tall intimidating looking dudes to break up fights and stuff. Has to be cheaper.

What can a cop do in the school that a regular guy couldn't is my question I guess. I never hear stories about cops shooting students who got in a fight so why do they need to be armed?

It looks like the weed sector is back im still not sure if I should get back on them though. That crash worried me.

Once again, I'm still a beginner to all of this.

I'm not too worried though. It was just an uptick that went back down. Marijuana is only going to get bigger and bigger and if you're invested in companies that are actually doing a good job you should see the benefits in the long term. This is getting in at the ground floor in my mind. (once it is legalized in the US)

My only concern is how easily will the canadian companies move in to the US? We have companies here just waiting for it to be legalized. Granted the Canadian companies probably have more ability to easily move in due to the fact they have been doing this for a few years. But still, I see them as a profitable investment for the most part.

I mean i'm still a noob for the most part at all of this but there isn't anything wrong with holding GME or AMC. It's when you're holding it because you bought at the top (20ish bucks for AMC and 480ish bucks for GME) that you're going to have a bad time. AMC and GME will probably never go that high again.

Edit: I shouldn't say never. AMC maybe, but not GME.

Agreed. WSB and pretty much every reddit sub is an echo chamber anyway. So anyone doubting the overall message of the sub or saying it was a pump and dump got downvoted. While those saying im never selling and hold the line got upvoted.

At this point I check the sub once a week just to know if a stock im holding is all over their front page so I know to sell it.

I still like to read the SNDL subreddit and every few days search for stocks i'm invested in to see if they are in danger of becoming a meme stock.

Edit: and even then if they become a meme stock (specifically one I'm worried about mostly) it isn't automatically a bad thing. I'll just have to pay a lot more attention to it.

I'm not surprised. And they are idiots. They got in looking for quick cash after everyone else was already in not realizing they were going to be the bag holders.

It's easy to get pumped and think you're doing the correct thing when there's subreddit after subreddit saying how you should hold the stock punctuated by memes. They probably felt a sense of belonging. They were told if they are selling they are doing it wrong and screwing over everyone else. It's cult like.

I bought it because I had an OG PS4. I had some newer games that I wanted to play on a better console to have them look better. (Ghosts of Tsushima, Cyberpunk 2077) Honestly I debated buying a PS4 pro but the price difference between that and the 5 made me just go for a 5.

So in December when Walmart had some stock put out I got lucky.

Watching The Godfather 3 last night I realized Sofia Coppola looks a lot like another actress that we have probably ALL SEEN but don't know the name of.

Who was the younger chick (haven't seen her in anything in a while) that kind of always looked like she had a scowled face. She usually played a female friend of a main character. Usually "high school" age. Kind of a whiny voice. Never a main actress. I feel like she was in late 90s early 2000s movies but it could have been up to late 2000s maybe. My memory is so bad about this I can't even think of a movie she was in but it was a few.

That was the case, pretty much. I went ahead and bought out of the call with $5 (got $60 from the sell, so $55 net profit) then immediately sold a new call for next week @ $40.

I definitely see the money to be made with this strategy, but still dont have complete confidence to play around with much more than $50-$100 here and there with shares in a stock/ETF I can live with selling if I have to.

Pretty much where I am myself. The whole WSB thing got me interested and I already had a TD Ameritrade account I got as a gift with a few crappy stocks in it. Over the past two weeks if I'm not at work i'm learning about the market. Bought and sold my first calls on Tuesday/Wednesday. But I'm with you... I'm afraid of making a mistake. And I don't mean pick a bad stock or something but I mean sell a non-covered call instead of buy one.

So WSB is helping out weed now of course, but weed stocks have been cheap for a while now. Although there is definitely pumping going on now, I anticipate that some of the gains were seeing will stick around.

So i've realized I messed up. I meant to put the one I bought yesterday up for sale. I bought 2 more this morning because they were still super cheap (price not updated I guess?). Instead of selling that old 1, i accidently sold the 2 I had just bought. I was hoping to ride those higher but my mistake didn't cost me because in the 1 minute 32 seconds I held those 2 they went way up.

Bought SNDL $2 2/19 for .60 AT OPEN. 1 and a half minutes later sold them for 1.65 each. So it's still early and my math is fuzzy maybe but in that minute and a half i made 210 dollars profit.

Edit: And to your point, I think it's part pump by WSB because they are kind of heavy on this stock, and part it was going up anyways and WSB just compounded it.

I'm going to be selling today so assuming the price doesn't crash my first trade was very successful.

I 100 percent realize this was a fluke though and we can't all count on WSB people to be pumping up stocks all the time and get lucky with my pick.
