Stock market has been really crazy for some companies. Tesla is now worth more than Toyota after today (Toyota makes about 20x more vehicles). Elon Musk said the stock was too high when is was around $800 a few weeks ago, it is now over $1100, lol.

I think you have to use a bit of each. Deaths are a lagging indicator. Hospitals in America are expensive as hell so you really don't want to get sick in the first place and end up there even if you are low risk of death.

My first car was a manual. it is fun in sporty cars but living in a high traffic city, I wouldn't get another one. Newer automatics are now actually more fuel efficient and can accelerate faster so manuals don't have that advantage anymore. I do like that newer cars have brake hold feature now so the car doesn't drift back when stopped on a steep hill though because that was a con of manual. I think manuals are still more reliable and are much cheaper to repair if it does break also.

I have always paid my the whole balance every month and never paid interest on any credit card. Generally cards that I rarely use (I have like 7 cards), I pay right after the balance posts so I don't forget. My main cards I just pay around the same time every month. My current score is around 820+.

M&P 2.0 is probably the best bang for your buck (they go on sale all the time). I prefer them over the G17/G19 but you should go to a store and at least hold different guns to see which one feels better in your hands since everyone has different preferences.

Glocks main advantage is accessories/mods selection, cheap mags, and part availability. M&P 2.0 has a rougher grip (which I like), more natural grip angle (imo) and has better factory sights. CZ P10c/f is also an alternative to the M&P 2.0 or Glock with a better stock trigger (imo).

If cost doesn't matter and you are sure you are not going to carry, the Sig P226 is a great choice.

Better option for pure home defense would probably be a shotgun though.

I think what should be fixed is how things like equities/stock and property are taxed after death. example, if someone bought $50,000 Amazon stock at an average of $100 per share several years ago and just died, the person who inherits the stock is only taxed on profits based the price of the stock of the day they inherited it. This means about $975,000 (AMZN is ~$1950 per share now) would not be taxed under current laws. This same thing applies to property values.

What brokers do you all use?

I use Fidelity for my retirement account and Charles Schwab for my other investments.

A lot of brokers are now commission free so I would just go with one of the big names (Schwab, Vanguard, Fidelity, TD Ameritrade, Interactive Brokers, ect). I think a lot of newer investors use Robinhood since they like the app (phone) but Robinhood has crash a few times in the past couple of weeks due to high traffic and their customer service doesn't compare to the big brokers from what I heard. TD Ameritrade has my favorite desktop/pc app called Think or Swim which is great to use for day/swing trading if you learn how to use the tools.

S&P down more than 10% in last few days, wow. I got quite a bit of cash right now so I'll start buying some stuff if the market continues nosediving more (~15-20%) or starts leveling off (less volatile) in a few days/weeks. I might do a little short term day trading in the meantime since the price action is moving so much right now.

meh, a ~10% correction happens like once a year on average and the market had huge gains last year so we were due a pullback. I'll add some more in a few days/weeks when the market settles a bit and probably really start loading up if it gets to the 15%-20% drop range.

I'm actually doing a case right now. The case I got is boring as hell and going to probably take 10 days. Really suprise they actually picked me after what I told the Judge and lawyers but my jury pool was small so like amost half the people had to be picked.

nah. these days you can get a reliable 9mm for like $250 fairly easy (brand new). $330-$400 will get you a very good model. The most popular ones (Glocks) are around $500.
