It's called "Miami Bass". It used to be popular in the Florida Cuban-American community during the late 80s and early 90s:

There was also another style at the time that became mainstream from the same area called "Latin Freestyle":

SoCal is doing horrible with social distancing. My block in LA had to have at least 100 people on it in the 4th of July without masks. I think those 4th parties are going to kill us. Huge parties everywhere.

Same thing happened with my Fourth. I stayed inside, but a neighbor was throwing a huge party with about 50 people. It's going to get worse now that a heat wave is coming, especially if you are in a cramped apartment with piss poor air conditioning. And on top of that, when you go outside you have to wear a mask in 100 degree heat. There will be a lot of people passing out.

California's plan was to slow down the pandemic enough so that their hospitals wouldn't be overrun. Then they would use the 20 billion windfall to acquire more beds and ventilators so they would be prepared by the time the pandemic was in full force. After that, things would be reopened in stages. If the hospitals start getting crowded, then there would be a partial rollback to an earlier stage until more hospital beds clear up.

We were in stage 2, where restaurants, beaches, and parks would be reopened, but with only limited occupancy and with social distancing and masks still enforced. For example, when the pro-wrestler Shad of Cryme Tyme drowned, people were not allowed to sunbathe, but they could walk the beach and go into the water as long as they were following social distancing.

Unfortunately, the governor has very little power over municipal governments. For example, Newsom had to ask Malibu's mayor to close their beaches since Malibu's law enforcement would be the ones enforcing it. The only thing the governor can do short of marshal law is to threaten to withhold state funds. This may scare poorer areas, but wealthy upscale Republican areas like Orange County and Ventura County have enough money to ignore him.

TL;DR : California's governor has very little power over the cities, and the cities are acting on their own based on political party lines.

edit: at post 10

I don't buy it. They already let it slip in an Oprah interview that they have an open relationship and have spent the past two decades trying to walk it back. Saying they were separated at the time seems like another way to cover up their swinger lifestyle.

One take that I've heard a lot is that Will is angry that Jada embarrassed him by letting her sex life go public. The dude is about the same age as Will Smith's oldest son Trey. Will has successfully covered up his sex life, but Jada screwed up by being sloppy with who she sleeps with. All the ones Will has been with are either so unimportant that no one would believe them, or they are on his level and are just as worried as he is about being exposed.

As for this dude Jada was with, I don't think he's as hurt as he says he is. He has an album that was released a couple weeks ago, so this might be his way of getting free publicity. I could see Smith destroying this guy's career to make an example out of him. He'll probably use his connections to blacklist him from the black entertainment industry.

There are people who had problems with a sorting hat determining a child's entire life, an irredeemably evil house to place these supposedly inherently evil children in, an entire school including the professors treating the house as a lost cause, and then the author trying to backtrack and say that wasn't the meaning even though the text shows otherwise.

At least in the movies they had a couple examples of Slytherin members who had some redeeming factors. I get the feeling book Snape would have tried to fuck Harry as a replacement for Lily had Harry been born a girl or if Snape was bisexual.

It would be stuck somewhere in Fantasyland and would be the only thing representing the franchise within the park. Universal Studios offered her an entire themed land that would sell her merchandise and she would have creative input. It shows you just how stingy Disney can be.

Mushrooms have a lot of liquid, you just have to let them release it while cooking.

Also, don't toss that liquid away, it's as good as mushroom stock. Reduce it, stir in a pat of butter or a splash of heavy cream, and you have a simple mushroom sauce that goes great over steak or pasta.

BB mofo

Disbanding an entire department has happened before. In 2012, with crime rampant in Camden, N.J., the city disbanded its police department and replaced it with a new force that covered Camden County. Compton, Calif., took the same step in 2000, shifting its policing to Los Angeles County.

https://www.post-gazette.com/news/nation/2020/06/07/
Minneapolis- Police- Department- to- be- dismantled- ending- City- Council- George-Floyd-police-brutality-reform-defund/
stories/202006070122

What this means is that policing would be handled by another law enforcement agency while the city creates a new police department. Once the new organizational infrastructure is in place, staff and officers would have to apply for their jobs under the new guidelines at a reduced salary.

This practice of disbanding is more common than most people think. Smaller cities have disbanded their police forces to reduce their budget while using the county sheriff's department. In some instances, deputies are required to ride in vehicles with the city's name while wearing the city's uniform. They might even be provided the old precinct building within the city to work from. Other times, the deputy would just incorporate the city as part of their patrol.

She got a lot of shit for it from her colleagues and they made her life a hell. Then, while she was out shopping, her house was shot up as a warning. The arriving officers suggested it was a gang retaliation, but the bullets recovered were all police issue.

She sued the department and won a couple million. The reason for the large payout was because her and her husband's career in law enforcement were pretty much over.

They are not anymore scary than any other celestial object. They don't suck things in to them like you see in movies. You have to be on a direct trajectory toward them to go in or else the momentum from their rotation would just fling you away at near light speeds. Hence those jets you see coming from the cores of active galaxies.

Yeah, there have been some near light speed travel proposals of a ship stealing momentum from a rotating black hole by flying through its ergosphere and using the gravity to slingshot a ship. We've actually done something similar by using the sun's gravity to slingshot the Voyager space probes to speeds a normal launch would be incapable of.

like their tits are still out but to people who just want hentai this isnt good enough lol

Amusing that they're based on the same model. They just aged the face of Kitana's model and made her body more buxom.

IIRC Taiwan officially refers to it as the "Wuhan Virus" to thumb their nose at Xi. They accuse the Chinese government of using their clout to force the name change on the WHO so that people would forget that they fucked up.

My own take is that the WHO does this for other nations so that their expatriates aren't unnecessarily persecuted. And it has already happened here in the US with people being prejudiced towards ethnic Chinese and Chinese-Americans.

Los Angelinos have a love hate relationship with Lebron. Mostly hate, though. They feel he's not serious about playing for the Lakers and just came to LA to work on his Hollywood career.

what the hell

The engine sounds were added to hybrid cars at the request of the Braille Institute back in the mid 2000s. Blind pedestrians were being struck by accident because the hybrid engine ran so silently they never knew there was a running car with a driver behind the wheel.
