I know its an unpopular opinion but I feel like the decline was beginning even with Dead Rising 2. DR1 was one of the most original games on the console and felt like it harkened back to an earlier sort of game development. 2 started injecting western things like a dumb crafting system that made weapons you just find almost useless, janky co op, and a weird self parody tone that felt like saints row or something even though it was only the second game. All while not really innovating much with what already existed

I dont hate it, but it doesnt surprise me that they were trying to push the westernization further and make it into the last of us or ass crud or some other junk

I'll admit, I did find him genuinely stressful when I first started playing, but after you've gone through the game a few times and figured out what he will and won't do, he's really just a nuisance

i mean you dont have to. Part of resident evil games, good ones anyway, had always been about memorizing routes and alternate pathways to get where you need to go. You can almost always take a diversion and lose him in the process or even just double back and get to a place where you can dodge him easier and get by him that way

the re2 remake had some problems but mr x definitely wasnt one of them. Hes basically a test of how well you know the layout of the rpd

mr x actually follows you places so if you lead him off a ways and then quietly return where you need to be you can make him leave you alone for a big chunk of time

thats the point. they're closing off roads and bridges, closing public transit stuff, and pressuring things bike services to close so they can keep people out after curfew and arrest them. it thins protest numbers, i guess to save money on the amount of tear gas canisters they have to shoot into innocent people's skulls

i remember when i first started the REmake remaster the camera kept doing this weird shifting swinging thing that it didnt do in the GC version and it drove me absolutely insane because i had no idea what was causing it.
