She died right before Trump became president (in July of that year).

But knowing her she'd make excuses for everything he does because she believes anything left-wing has ruined the country (the fact a lot of her old church friends seem to do that leads me to believe she would have as well). I think what happened with Clinton shook her up too much (that and being part of the Christian right).

My father, on the other hand, is pretty much the exact opposite: left-wing and sometimes I think he drinks the kool-aid instead of being reasonable about what needs to change. I can't feel as strongly about it as he does because I feel like it's like confirmation-bias.

Damn dude. That must be tough. Two parents with conflicting views. How was that for you growing up?

Come to Canada. Taxes are higher slightly, but health care isn't that bad. Weed is legal too. We aren't perfect, but it's nice here. Weather isn't that bad as some people think. Avoid major cities unless you can afford it there.

That's on my list. My US offices will likely open a Canadian operation within the next year which would make it even easier to move there.
