Office politics. He can't just bring back whoever he wants whenever he wants. The CFO is the one who ultimately signs off on what positions can come back and when.

The VP of Ops never wanted to scale back at all, he just wanted to follow correct procedures and operate as normal (we are a medical company). However, he doesn't see eye to eye or communicate well with the person who runs sales . Sales made sweeping cuts when the pandemic started and so everyone else was forced to follow suit. Now he can't bring people back on until sales climb back to an acceptable level which is at the whim of how quickly sales bring back staff and how much they want to spend on marketing.

Our sales are usually $3m to 3.2m a week. After sales cut ~75% of the workforce, they dropped to $1.2-1.3m. They have steadily climbed back to about $1.8m a week but the company doesn't want to start bringing people back until we are at least in the $2m to $2.5m region.

I mean, I've been against the strict measures from the start but it isn't my choice to not be working right now. The company I work for is actually deemed essential but made the decision to go to skeleton crew so they didn't hemorrhage money. Sad part of it is, May is apparently on track to be one of the most profitable months in the companies history according to the VP of Operations (he's a good friend of mine so I still find out what is going on)

This is the only time I have not been working since I was 15 years old (I'm in my mid 30s now) and the only time I have ever tried to claim benefits. I've literally never gone a week without a job before this. Believe me I would much rather have been working all this time than sat at home.

Also keep in mind that Florida unemployment is already super shitty. You get $275 a week normally. One of my fiances's friends say she gets over double that in a different state.

I want to again reiterate how shitty Florida Unemployment is.

Furloughed April 10th. Applied for Unemployment April 11th. I still haven't received anything from them. No money, no request for extra information, nothing to say they are even processing my claim.

Application site still says 'Pending - Submitted'. Main site still gives me virtually no information whatsoever. When I speak to them on the phone, they can't help me either. I know of 2 other people who applied same day as me in the exact same situation and have heard zero back.

I also know of 2 other people who applied the day before and day after who received varying payments. 1 got fully backdated unemployment and received 2x $600 PUA checks so far (eligible for them all. So 6? 7?). The other has received 2 weeks pay of $275 with nothing backdated and 1 PUA check for $600 (eligible for 5)

I just opened one of my Hidden Fates tins to see what was inside and man if they are all like that, they are shoddily packed. The GX card looks like it was crammed in and so is minorly crumpled on the edges.

Also I am not sure if this is the norm but the packs look weird. There's like a white mark on the front and back of the packs at both the top and bottom where the seal overlaps. Like where it was pressed, it was either pressed strangely or the machine they use is leaving a mark on both the top and bottom seals. When I flip over the flap bit it looks fine. The bottom and sides of the packs are also crumpled a little from how they were shoved tightly in the box.

I'm tempted to just sell the tins seals now rather than selling things individually as people may question if these are resealed. And the GX card (which isn't worth much anyway) is essentially worthless with the minor damage. And if they are all like that, I'm better just selling the tins complete.

Whatever the default software is on a OnePlus 7 Pro. This doesn't seem to learn new words as quickly as my old phone so I assume it's the default settings for that word

Well that was frustrating. Got 1 win away from Diamond 10 but lost with the opponent at 1 HP. Followed it up with 2 more losses so back to exactly where I started.

No bad luck or RNG or misplays or anything. Just how it goes but frustrating nonetheless

Our next door neighbors dog frequently gets out and they have had the cops and animal control called on them a few times.

It's a pitbull and when it gets out it will be very barky at people and comes across as aggressive. Really it's soft though because whenever I see it, I just walk towards it and tell it to go home. It keeps barking but keeps moving back home as I walk towards it. Most people would be (rightfully) scared of it. I don't think it has ever bitten anyone, it's just territorial.

But yes dogs should be leashed. I have a 75lb Australian Shepherd (so bigger than the norm) and no way would I let him roam. That's what the backyard is for. Sometimes I'll let him off leash in the park (and not very often) but only if there's nobody else around or if we are with people we know. As soon as anyone else is around, he instantly goes back on the leash. The park at the end of our road is very small and has very little foot traffic. I wouldn't do it at a bigger park.

So I read that some people weigh packs and sell the ones that aren't good. I don't intend on doing that but are the lower priced ones on eBay going to be weighed? So if I'm not weighing packs should I sell for higher?

I've already got 6 boxes of those so don't really want to get many more (if any). They are theoretically good profit but the market for Detective Pikachu boosters and Greninjas has to be very low

Well the sale I was using to get the cheap Hidden Fates tins has ended. It was supposed to run until Sunday but has been replaced by the Memorial Day sale and that does not include the tins in the sale. So that will put an end to me stocking up more for the meantime at least.

I didn't buy any of the above yet.

Looks like selling in general sucks. Haven't tried selling anything yet but ebay only lets you sell 10 items a month or $500 worth a month (whichever happens first). And some of this stuff doesn't seem to sell quickly at all looking at ebay selling history.

Like I have 35 Shining Legends Boosters if I open things up but they don't sell often at all. So my best bet would probably be to sell like in like batches of 10 for $50? At $5 a pack it would perfectly cover all the shining legends boxsets and everything else remaining would be profit at that point.

I think it depends on what your buy price is. Quick math says the max it can be is 6x your buy price. So guessing your friends buying price was 108

I have a 9% chance of small spike (134 - 191) tomorrow PM and 91% chance of large spike (192 - 576). Will open up my island if I get a decent price.

I only for the pins because they were on 'clearance' in the Walmart I happened to be in as bundles. Although seems their clearance price wasn't even that great (2x pin sets for $24)

I did find some Magearna and Volcanion Mythical Collections for $20 each but quick google search said it wasn't worth buying. Same with the Team Skull Pin Collection for $26 and Legacy Evolution Collection for $22.

We had a 3DO in the house but I barely remember anything that I played on it. I think my Dad ended up selling it fairly quickly as it was barely used.

Well you decrease a bonus star for every floor you cross. It's pretty likely you cross a floor every win if you are on a win streak with bonus stars (and obviously guaranteed at 8+)

Right. My point is more that with enough bonus stars, it won't take me 185 games to get to Plat 5 like it did this month because I was starting off with only 3 bonus stars.

If I get to Diamond 10 then I can probably reach Plat 5 in less than half the games it took this month.

This does remind me I am due my daily tilt. Especially after ending yesterday on such a hot streak.

Next month Legend might be achievable if I get enough bonus stars that I don't have to dredge through all the lower ranks like I have this month

Calling the correct 2 finalists and getting the winner correct is worth 200 points (13 matches / 10.23% of the contest)

Calling the first 3 rounds perfectly is worth 192 points (112 matches / 88.18% of the contest)

It is pretty obvious that whilst later rounds should be worth more, they should not be worth that much more. Calling 112 matches in a row correct is significantly more difficult that calling the correct 2 finalists and winner. We have the prediction percentages so someone could run the numbers if they wanted but even when we have an unexpected finalist, I'm sure the chances of getting 2 finalists and the winner right are way higher than the chances of getting the first 112 matches correct.

How does villager trading work? I have Zucker asking if he should move out and I'm not sure if I should tell him ok. On one hand I like him, on the other hand he's in one of the original 3 houses and the missus also has him in her village.

Like I know if I tell him to move, he will be in boxes tomorrow. But then how do I invite the other persons villager who is in boxes as I won't have an empty plot until Zucker leaves?

He had like 6-7 cards in hand so I'm assuming he wins regardless as he probably had something in hand to heal up. I was just annoyed I made an obvious misplay because I realized the second he buffed his minion.

Ack, just had a 6 win streak busted by a misplay on my part. Probably still a loss anyway.

I had Arcane Shot in hand and could have played it to bring him to 2. I tend to hold it if I know for sure I can play it next turn regardless in case the opponent leaves lethal without realizing I have it in hand. I assumed he would heal up.

I forgot that he completed quest last turn so his Oberon whatever it's called gives +3/3 to minions for the easy win. If I had used Arcane Shot it at least could ends in a tie if he had nothing in hand or is careless. More realistically he plays something from hand and wins anyway win instead of going straight face immediately but I didn't give myself that option.

Does a tie break win streak? I've never had one before

Actually it looks like HSReplay didn't record where the game glitched out causing a loss so I guess it was technically 39-35 and 115-71 overall. I went 6-1 after that which is great because I was pretty close to quitting for the day in a huff.

I just don't see how it is remotely balanced. Like it should either be more mana (even at 2 it seems pretty damn good) or it should have the effect reduced (add a random priest spell instead of discover?)

Also, how on earth has renew not been nerfed?

Ugh, this is infuriating. Finally get to the point where I am about to win streak. App glitches out after I play a card and won't let me play anything else. Then won't let me back into the match when I try to reconnect.

So 3 game swing. Back down to 7 1/3 instead of 6 1/3 on a win streak.

EDIT: And next match is a Warrior who my deck may as well be an autoloss against.
EDIT2: I beat the Warrior at least so if I win this next game I'll be pissed as that would have put me at rank floor

I wish I could just get to the next rank floor so I could put time into battlegrounds again but every time I get close-ish (3 stars away), it yo-yos me and gives me bad matchups.

Feels like I have just bounced up and down between 7 3/3 and 8 2/3 for ages now. When I do reach the rank floor, I'm probably going to be close to .500 for these 5 ranks or maybe even below it.

Got another shipping email from Gamestop. So now officially everything except for my 10 Hidden Fates tins have shipped.

My local Walmart (like 5 mins away) has the Shining Legends Raichu GX for $22.50 in plentiful stock. That has 5 Booster Packs in so should be pure profit (albeit not as good as Hidden Fates and Greninja). May nip over there and buy a few.

It would be nice if you could see wholesale prices without having to have an account to judge whether it's worth. I know it will be but just would be nice to see the cost breakdown versus retail.

Mostly this, although I work on a news show as well, that's mostly a labor of love though.

I assume it's something along the lines of registering as a business, getting a business resale certificate and then just buying through the wholesale direct?

Perks of being a business would also mean you can write off a lot of stuff on taxes too I guess.

Hmm, I'm ~$250 invested in now. I think I might invest another $250 if I can find anything local and then just work off the profit from there on out.

Be interesting to see if GameStop are even going to honor my Hidden Fates purchases (or maybe they don't even have them yet). Out of the 30 items I ordered, they have shipped 18. 10 of the 12 not shipped are the Hidden Fates tins (other 2 are random Funko Pops)

I assume you sell all sorts of trading cards not just Pokemon? Do you open everything up and just sell what is valuable or do you sell stuff sealed too?
