This is pretty much how we're doing it in Australia. When I went to the pub the other day, you were assigned a table with a number on it for dinner, and all the tables were spaced out according to social distancing protocol. You couldn't walk around with a beer, you had to stay put until your beer was finished or leave it there while you get up.

At my local supermarket, there are plastic barriers between customers and cashiers, and the self serve checkouts have dividers too.

Loud music is a no-brainer, since pubs, bars and restaurants aren't exactly equipped for big nights out at the moment. Why would you go out to eat and casually drink at a place with music blasting at full volume, when you can't even dance or hang around the bar casually?

The information provided is to contact attendees in the event of a coronavirus outbreak. My local pub has people writing their details in an exercise book with a pen.

I'm sorry that other western countries aren't incensed about Coronavirus restrictions like you guys are, I guess.

It's easy to think that things were better for a small while in the 2010's, but that whole time you had incidents like that Malala girl getting shot in the face by the Taliban, or Boko Haram's campaign of ransacking towns and villages, killing all the men, and selling the women into human trafficking.

The world has been swerving over an icy road at least since 9/11 - things weren't exactly peachy in the Middle East pre-9/11, but I feel like that terrorist attack really sealed the rise of groups like ISIS and Boko Haram.

The latter half of the 2010's also saw the election of several far-right leaders, like Trump and Bolsonaro. We're seeing a worldwide shift into radical conservatism, and the effects of that are mirrored in the brutality and cronyism of Bolsonaro and Trump's periods of leadership in their respective countries.

If we don't see a shift that favors the treatment of the population at large, and of the environment, instead of giving companies like Amazon multi-million dinner tax breaks and responding to protests with bad-faith agitators and the National Guard in tanks, we're all fucked beyond repair. The world has been going downhill.

chicken schnitzel is a go-to pub feed over here, at least in NSW. Walk into any pub bistro in the state, and I bet at least 9/10 times you'll find a chicken schnitzel. Chicken parmigiana is synonymous with pub schnitzel, and around where I live we also have toppings like Mexican or tropical.

All of that is loaded with cheese and sauces, so I got mine with just one gravy-ish sauce.

I liked it more than season 3. Legit, season 4 was head and shoulders above season 3.

I would honestly prefer if the show cut all the plot stuff out and just had standalone adventures. I spent too long hanging on for the plot stuff in season 3 and I had a really bad reaction to it all because of that. Pickle Rick was an okay episode, but it did not deserve to turn into the phenomenon it did.

Meanwhile, as far as tropey cliche storm episodes go where they pastiche stuff, I liked the story train more than I liked the superhero episode. And I didn't mind the superhero episode, I actually liked all the characters in that episode, but the formula becomes really obvious really quickly. The story train episode kept me on my toes a bit, even with a gag or two that went on for too long.

I dunno, I feel like season 4 was more madcap and spontaneous than season 3, and I enjoyed the sheer chaos of it. Season 3 was a pale shadow of season 2, which some people regard as a weaker season 1. Season 4 was an improvement imo.

I wouldn't be so hopeful. Back during one of the older BLM protests, the police turned Amnesty International away. Blocked them off from whatever town they were going to.

The police aren't going to let an outside force in to resolve this. They're going to keep beating, tear-gassing and mass-arresting their citizens, to the point of arresting city- and state-sanctioned medics so less protestors get treatment and are taken out of the protests. They're going to keep subjugating the citizens they're meant to protect, because that's what they do - they eliminate all opposition so they can get away with whatever they want.

I have not. Kangaroos terrify me, their kicks are strong enough to shatter bones and they use the claws on their toes to disembowel their opponents. My grandparents live out in the country, though, so I've seen plenty.

How busy is it in there?

Not very busy. There were like 12 people maximum eating dinner when I got there, and by the time I left the bar there were like 4 people drinking. All the tables and poker machines are spaced out to accommodate social distancing procedures, so it wasn't totally packed.

My go-to amount of beers is anywhere between 12 and 16. 4 is showing constraint, and I've had sore thighs for two days in a row so I thought I would treat myself.

It was a bad idea all things considered, but I can assure you that in food and alcoholic beverages, I have had a lower caloric intake than usual today. As long as I hit the grind again tomorrow and keep a good pace going from day to day, I should be fine.

I binged it with a friend, it's okay but it's kind of weak. John Malkovich is the strong point of the series, Steve Carrell is decent and I like Ben Schwartz, but I think the writing is tired.

Don't go into this show expecting snappy jokes or expressive, human dialogue. It's fine, and I didn't hate it, but it's definitely not my favourite show ever.

People wouldn't be protesting if one cop didn't kneel on a handcuffed man's neck until he stopped moving, and then kept it on there for another 3-4 minutes after that. This event wouldn't be escalating the way it is without the police deliberately escalating these events with planted cars to burn, leaving pallets of bricks out in the street, and warning protestors once - as opposed to 4 or 5 times to spread the message across and seeing if they'll comply - before going into full beatdown mode 10 seconds later.

George Floyd was killed for a forgery charge, because he had some funny money. He served no danger to anyone, he was beaten before he was thrown on the ground, and he was handcuffed and helpless to prevent his own death at the hands of the police. Literally all that had to happen to prevent these protests is one white cop not kneeling on a black man's neck for close to 10 minutes.

There's no-one else to blame for these continued protests but the police. It's messed up that these protests are happening in the midst of this pandemic, but there wouldn't be protests if cops weren't constantly battering protestors and calling for the National Guard to take care of things. Blame the police for the next big outbreak, because no-one except a bunch of conservative dipshits who want haircuts would be congregating like this if the police had done their jobs without murdering a non-violent offender in the street.

No, Australia is a pretty racist place. We had a PM who got in office on a platform of "Stop the Boats", we still have racism against Asian-Australians for coming here in droves despite the immigration boom ending in the 80's, I grew up around indigenous slurs coming from my family. You don't get a country born out of colonialism that doesn't have some deep-seated racism baked into the population by decades or centuries of accepted racist viewpoints, i.e. that the indigenous population are inferior and didn't deserve the land, and that their plight today is evidence of that. That doesn't vanish in less than 100 years.

Like I made a post last Saturday saying that I've grown to be a more patriotic person, and that I'm so proud to be an Australian because it's genuinely a better place to live than America. But that doesn't mean we have no issues of race here. Being patriotic and being thankful for where you live doesn't mean ignoring the issues that your country has.

I knew a dude going into some type of medical field and he would go all over websites looking at people dying as a way to get used to his possible career. So cant really knock everyone for their choices.

Also I wouldn't hold it against someone like this, be it a trauma surgeon or some position in the military, or something like a war photographer. If you're just some regular Joe looking up death to gawk at it and be amused, or if you're using it to further something ugly and evil within yourself, then fuck you - but I guess there are professions which could involve this sort of thing.

Depends on why you're doing it. If you're watching videos of minorities dying to strengthen your resolve to hate them and desire their deaths, or something in that ballpark, then yes.

Otherwise, probably not "horrible" per se, but you're still watching the end of a life for sheer entertainment - at least 18 years of emotions, experiences and relationships shaping the existence of who that person was, and you're watching it all slip away until they're just a piece of meat. That's incredibly disrespectful, and you should absolutely feel bad about it. If you're watching kids die, then you should be put on a watchlist and a no-fly list.

I think that at an absolute baseline, an appropriate outcome is to have someone find out and put you in therapy to confront why this is entertaining to you.

The way I rationalise this is: how would you feel about the person your partner cheats with? Are they blameless for having sex with your partner?

Your partner is interested in seeing another person without you knowing. They find someone, they hit it off and they have sex. They know that what they're doing is wrong, and they do it anyway despite how you would feel about it.

The person they're cheating with knows that your partner isn't single. Despite knowing that there's another person who would be hurt by what they're doing, they do it anyway because it makes them feel good. In both cases, they're disregarding an innocent person in a committed relationship for their own selfish needs.

The onus of responsibility ultimately falls on the cheater for going through with the act while committed to someone else, but knowing that they're participating in the act of cheating and doing it anyway makes this other person equally as culpable. There's something to be said for someone who didn't know there was someone else in the picture, or who fell in love with someone before learning that they had a partner, or who was lied to about the cheater being in the process of leaving someone - but someone who enters the picture and knows from the get go that someone is in a relationship when they start courting them is arguably as bad as the person cheating.

Both of them have zero regard for whoever's being cheated on, pursuing happiness at that person's expense. The bulk of the responsibility falls on the cheater, but the person they're cheating with is equally as culpable if they pursue the relationship with the intent of courting a person who's still in a relationship. They are just as bad.

Yeah, of course it's according to the game. I'm planning to play as much as I can handle every day, and today that was 11 minutes and 41 seconds - I'm committing to the exercise, but I'm not pushing myself until the wheels fall off.

If I can make at least 10 minutes every day, I'll be happy - but the more time I spend playing, the better. The end goal for June is a 30 minute play session.

I'm going to suggest you cut out all shitty foods not some and do a lot more than 10 minutes of ring fit.
Keep in mind losing weight is like 80% diet and 20% exercise. You can kill a 10km run with half a pizza.

I actually wanted a copy of Ring Fit Adventure before quarantine went into effect, but it's $120 in Australia so I kept putting it off. Then the first days of quarantine were my threshold, but the game had sold out worldwide by then. I was doing a more physical job than I was used to at the time, and I was enjoying the physicality of it, but that came into an end thanks to the Big C - so I fell back into shitty habits because I have the integrity of a freshly used jizz sock. Not a stale one, a wet one.

I've been entertaining the idea of asking a girl out, but my go-to frame of mind when it comes to attractive women is "she's out of my league, I won't bother them with *this*." Even with this girl, who I have on good authority that she likes me too, I don't think she deserves someone like me - the frame of mind is that I would just hold her back and be a negative piece of shit for her to deal with. So I'm set on changing that - I want to be good enough to ask her out.

My big diet thing is that when I have food in front of me, I order a fuckton and I cram it down even when I get full. I'm not a wasteful person, so if the alternative is that food gets wasted, I eat it - with the issue being that I order so much that if I stopped at a reasonable point, food would probably go to waste. I like eating, and I like feeling full.

As a part of this diet, I'm avoiding fast food for the most part. I'll give myself 2 cheat days, but anything I get on those days has to be a reasonable/small portion and I have to drink water with it, not soda. If something ends up in front of me, I might have some of it, but I won't gorge on it - even if it means some of it will be wasted. It's all about portion control, and having more good stuff in your diet than bad stuff imo.

You know when a character in a video game moves faster than their walking animation? That's basically this game in a nutshell.

The combat is clunky, the translation is a bit stiff and not great, and the plot really is dime a dozen so far. It was $8 on mobile, and I wouldn't buy another Kemco game for that price.

Breath of Fire 1 and 2 are on Nintendo Switch Online, you're much better off paying $20 for a year's access to those two games than you are paying upwards of $8 for Asdivine Hearts. It's a fine time waster, but I don't recommend buying it.

Honestly, if you have a Switch, buy Brave Dungeon instead. It's cheaply made, like a Kemco game, but it's a solid, short and replayable game with minigames and New Game + in mind. It's very tongue in cheek, and the combat feels fast and satisfying. That is a worthwhile buy.
