I never said to pretend it's not happening. And I never meant to downplay it. You can take the same precautions we have now. Disinfecting everything, wearing gloves and mask, and just better cleaning procedures will have to be a part of life until they figure something out. If they ever do.

And while I'm not fine with it, people are going to die regardless. Either from the virus or from starvation. And the virus would probably claim less people that almost everybody starving because nobody can buy more food. But whatever. I guess you don't care that people can't live without money.

And I use them to normally trail off at the end of certain sentences. So you leave my ellipsis alone. I'm using them just fine...

They're not starving. They have welfare. Lockdown started a month ago. Opening back up when the virus is still rampant is insane. We have too little testing and a shortage of masks.

Yes. But will those really cover everything people need. Probably not. Especially since after this has slowed down, people may need to return the life they had. But maybe the extra services weren't enough to keep their car. Or they had to move far away because the extra money couldn't pay for the house they lived in. That money can only do so much.

Sure. The virus does have a small death rate. And that sucks. But you know what else cause death? Starving. And without enough money, people can't feed their families. And I don't know about where you live. But where I live, food cost money. Which people won't have enough of if they aren't working.

Also, we don't know how long they'll be able to afford to keep paying almost everybody extra money for staying at home. And we don't know if they'll be able to keep saying no evictions forever. Especially for people renting houses...

Pretending a pandemic isn't happening isn't going to make it stop. Don't downplay the virus. It's disrespectful to those that have died from it already. But I guess you don't care since you're fine with more people dying from it.

There are welfare services, unemployment checks, and no evictions. going back to work also leads to death of people working and those not working. partial opening just prolongs the pandemic. People also NEED to not contract or spread the disease.
