I don't read books anymore. I know that makes me sound very ignorant, and video games don't have the level of storytelling (as a whole) compared to books, but I see video games as the future of books. I want to play through the story and see it.

I was an avid "chapter book" reader as a kid and also into high school. After that I stopped and haven't gone back. I haven't read a book in ten years.

The Dreamcast was probably the greatest single leap.

Shenmue looks incredible for its time compared to PS1, but if you compare PS1 to stuff like Resident Evil 4, MGS3, the gap far outclasses PS1 - Dreamcast. Dreamcast did come out first, though. So that was the jump I suppose.
