| rexcrk 05/10/20 9:24:39 AM #30 | Every time I see people hating on the sequels (especially The Force Awakens) I wonder if Ive even seen the same movies. The Force Awakens, especially, is just such a good movie. The iTs A rEmAkE argument against it is just so... lazy and not really accurate. Sure, if you look at it at the absolute most basic level, I could see that. But, then, the same could apply to Return of the Jedi too. The Last Jedi isnt even THAT bad either. Time has certainly softened my opinion of it. Yes, theres some iffy parts to it. Yes, they probably should have reigned in Rian Johnson a little bit more. But theres still some good and even great parts to it. And The Rise of Skywalker, I thought, was a fun movie. It was great seeing Rey, Poe, and Finn interacting with each, Threepio had a big role, Ian McDiarmid was fantastic as always. Nothing in it really struck me as completely nonsensical (within the Star Wars universe, of course ) so I really think that a lot of the whining is just bandwagon-hate. I really dont see what the problem with these movies are to warrant such strong hatred. Is it because the old books (which were never canon ) were wiped away? Is it because the Rey character is a female? (Because if it was a guy, I could see a lot of people thinking that things she did in the movies was awesome...). Ten years from now, though, people will look back at these more fondly. Im sure of it. Star Wars fans are incredibly fickle lol. --- These pretzels are making me thirsty! |

Like I said in my opening post, Im legit worn out from retail. People think that its standing standing around BS-ing with your coworkers and stuff but its not; its a lot of heavy lifting, kneeling, straining... not to mention the mental exhaustion. So I know I absolutely dont want to do any kind of labor work. But... I dont think Id like just sitting at a desk all day either. The only upside to that would be that Id be more comfortable doing harder workouts knowing that I dont have to be physical for my job. So its like... what else is there? Im graduating college at the end of the year and planning on starting my job search then (or more likely at the beginning of next year so I can use my paid time off one last time to do something fun). --- These pretzels are making me thirsty! |

A lot of times, those jobs seem to be most retail, fast food, or something similar. Most people don't usually job hop around places where you would start a career. Some do, but I think that sometimes kind of puts you at a disadvantage compared to the rest...Absolutely. I hate the idea of starting a career in my mid-30s, especially if I dont even know if Ill like it... but Im not fucking doing retail anymore lol its completely worn me out. --- These pretzels are making me thirsty! |
