I wouldn't go this far, but there should really be an effort to make core characters have more resemblance to their source.

There seems to be an active effort to do just the opposite with this series.

I never understood why that show took place in the 1990s.

They didn't really use the setting for anything too meaningful (not like the 1990s are a particularly interesting setting in the first place), so it seemed pointless. Like it was a placeholder for a previous idea that they ultimately dropped.

The show is based on a the main kids life growing up.

The problem is that they have video and witnesses to what happened; so Warren has every right to get upset about being called a liar on national television. I suppose this is like the bit with Trump where, whenever there's audio of him doing morally bankrupt, disgusting, repugnant stuff (like video of him with Jeffrey Epstein) it's all 'fake' news and invented to destroy him.

Or this is like the situation where someone claims something about Trump and it's all true even without any evidence because people said so.

The only Mana game I played was Sword on GBA. It was okay, but didn't really grab me once I realized how easy it was.
