There isn't a unique idea in the entire thing, that's the problem I had with it. It was just a jumble of ideas from already existing franchises/stories thrown together for the sake of it. Giving away Aloy's origins in literally the opening cinematic of the game was a huge mistake. That was the one interesting hook and they blew it immediately. What do you think about Sylens? I thought he was probably the most interesting character in the game. You're not wrong that the game is pretty cliche, so I was expecting it to be the tried-and-true "asshole helper bonds with protagonist and ends up being their friend at the end."
