This brings us to point 2, there isn't a single stream where he doesn't insult or otherwise berates others. Be it trolls, his loyal fans, other streamers or basically whoever happens to come into his crosshairs. Where the previous characteristic would score a 7 out of 10, this one scores an 11.

I would be interested in knowing how many insults he uses in an average stream. It's always funny when he uses the kind of childish insult that most adults would roll their eyes at and then laughs like he really got the person good. If he insists on insulting people constantly, he could at least learn some words beyond stupid, moron, and asshole.

Being a mature adult is just one more of those things he constantly tells us but can never actually show us. A mature adult doesn't need to continually remind people he is a mature adult. Other qualities that Phil tells us about but never actually displays include: being honest, being smart, being thick-skinned, being receptive to criticism, being willing to learn from his mistakes, being fun and/or chill.

I don't think Phil understands women beyond a couple simple stereotypes. To him, women are either mother figures (ie: someone who cooks and cleans and takes care of the kids) or sex objects. He obviously got the first view from his mother. The second was based on the way other people his age (when he was younger) viewed women, which I believe Phil emulated in order to fit in. In his earlier videos when we see him making sexist comments every time a female character comes on screen, I think that was him acting the way he thought he was expected to act. The fact that he did it so often--he couldn't see a female character without talking about sex--seems like overcompensation. In reality, I think he has little or no interest in sex or women in general. But having a girlfriend was something everyone else did (and he didn't want to come across as a loser virgin), so he got a girlfriend and eventually a wife. His current reaction to waifus and video game women is based on his warped interpretation of what it means to be a mature married man--he thinks he is expected to act this way.

I don't think most of his fans even care that he wastes their money. There is ample evidence that the money he gets is being squandered on things he doesn't need, yet these people still toss him thousands of dollars a month. Phil could admit to whaling out on that WWE mobile game and I doubt he'd lose more than 2 or 3 supporters.

I don't think Phil has any passion for anything. The only thing that gets him excited these days is getting a big tip--even some of his legitimate viewers have noted that his mood seems to brighten when he hits the tip goal.

This will end the way it always does. One day Phil will go a little too far in his abuse of Papavera, and Papavera will suddenly realize that Phil is a bad person who had been using him the entire time (something that everyone else realized almost immediately). He'll air his grievances on Twitter or in chat, Phil will blame everything on Papavera before blocking/banning him, and before long some new paypig will emerge to replace him. Circle of life.

That's the scary part, because Phil is far too lazy to be looking for these people. They are finding him. He will never again in his life play a fighting game offline, but he will also never adapt to online play. It's baffling, too, because he clearly hates every second of it unless he's winning--and unless he's playing absolute scrubs the entire time, he's generally not winning. Let's face it, though, if he actually did play people offline, he'd still be losing, and we'd get to hear about the faulty controller and the game dropping his inputs and input delay and a bunch of other lame excuses.

I look at them the way I might look at people in a cult. Most cults seem obviously bad, the kind of thing that anyone with a speck of common sense would be able to see as a blatant scam that only benefits the guy in charge. While I marvel at the stupidity of the people taken in by something like that, I can't help but feel sorry for the loneliness and desperate need for acceptance that must have led them to think it was a good idea.

Papavera might be one of the most pathetic fans Phil has ever had, even moreso than the whales dropping hundreds of dollars a month. He doesn't seem to be one of the ones that supports Phil simply to stick it to the trolls. He comes across as one of the few legit fans who wants Phil to succeed and will go out of his way to help him--and for his efforts he gets nothing. I wish this guy would realize how much he's being used.

Pretty much. At least those CW teen dramas generally don't pretend to be meaningful. Overall, it's entertaining in a so-bad-it's-good way, but that's not what they were going for. I know it's been said a million times, but they should not have gone past one season.

He's never learned that it's a terrible idea to let his viewers know what upsets him. If he just brushed things off and acted as if they didn't bother him, then people would stop bringing them up. Instead, he flips out over the most minor of things, thus ensuring that those subjects get mentioned again and again. I find this particularly hilarious because even a child can learn to stop reacting to teasing or insults when it becomes clear that their reaction only makes the situation worse.

I like the idea that almost all of the money he makes has to go towards bills, taxes, and personal expenses. Replace his equipment? No, his viewers will have to donate extra for that... or just gift him the equipment.

I've watched the first three episodes of season four and I want to give up. I know everything after season one is pointless, but this is a significant step down even from season three.

I've joked before that it will reach a point where someone else will play the game for him while he sits back and does half-assed, minimalist commentary, but I don't how much of a joke that actually is. I think if Phil could make that sort of thing profitable (and knowing his fans, he could), then he'd do it, all the while claiming it was a transformative work that was every bit as difficult as making edited content.

He's said several times that he'd be willing to use new songs if people would create the songs for him, which is typical lazy Phil. In my opinion, he should find some catchy public domain music and go with that. But even taking a couple hours to look for some music for his stream is far too much effort for him.

He treats his early days as if they happened twenty years ago when he was in his teens. Not removing the offensive songs is hilarious. It's simple laziness, nothing else.

If he cared at all about games or the quality of his content, he'd make more of an effort to learn how to play each game. Sure, some of it is due to his goldfish memory and diminishing mental faculties, by a lot is deliberate. The number one priority of his streams is making money, not putting out entertaining content or having fun. Combine that with the fact that he gets money no matter how lazy and terrible his content is, and he has no reason to learn how to play.

You'd think Kat (or his parents, if they read his tweets) would advise him to try not to make every event about himself, or maybe simply to keep his mouth shut altogether. He's a nearly 40-year-old white guy who lives comfortably in a gated community, is largely removed from the outside world, and who has a history of saying racially insensitive things--nothing he has to say is going to benefit anyone.

He doesn't understand his viewers (in his defense, though, who really could?). They seem to like giving him money to put on a vest. Well, how about giving him more money to put on more vests? No improvements to the stream, no benefits for the people who support him, no effort whatsoever--just give him more money. Anyone who argues that Phil likes his viewers or cares about them for anything more than their money is objectively wrong. And anyone who continues to support the vest streak after this insult of a "reward" is objectively stupid.
