That sounds interesting. I could also see it simply being expanded to non-human animal characters in general (so Pokemon would be included despite not speaking human language) but that would be up to whoever runs it. Either way, I definitely have a few magical girl anime mascot critters in mind...

But people were also worried that FInal Fantasy characters would end up winning every Video Game Character Save That, and i think only 2 ever broke even top 20 and none won, so what do I know.

I really liked Sunshine, but I wasn't a fan of its horror elements.

See, a lot of people complain about the last third of Sunshine, but I still really enjoyed it, and think it fit well with the overall message of the film.

I love almost all of thse movies, but for me, it's probably between The Thing and Sunshine.

I feel like Sunshine is the better "horror" movie, but The Thing is better overall as a movie.

Sunshine has some of the best cinematography of any horror movie I've ever seen though. Holy fuck is that a beautiful movie.

Audioslave is good, but I think I prefer Soundgarden over them overall; Chris COrnell was much more mellow sounding during the Audioslave years, and I think I prefer when he went all out on stuff like Jesus Christ Pose.

Ah, I wanted to see Blackkklansman. Maybe if I watch that, I'll build some momentum for him. It's just easier to jump into a premise you don't especially care for if their are actors you already like. Scarlett isn't a bad actor either of course, but she doesn't pull me in to watch movies just cause she's in it. You should also take all this with a grain of salt since I just fell out of watching regular tv in general for the most part.

Definitely check out Blackkklansman, I think that should definitely build some good will towards Adam Driver for ya, and hopefully you'll be more inclined to check out Marriage Story, both are wonderful movies.

And it's all good man, not every actor or concept or even films in general is for everyone; all I can do is give my personal recommendations, and hope others enjoy them as much as I do. If not, it is what it is.

Scarlett was also really good in Jojo Rabbit this year too, she and Adam Driver have both been giving really good performances outside of their Star Wars/Marvel stuff.

It's kind of like The Boys on Amazon minus the humor and over the top violence and a bit of District 9. It's essentially a world of people and some have super powers but are heavily regulated by the government so a lot are in hiding. It was a surprising gem for me, I loved it.

I'll need to check that out, it sound pretty interesting.

I went to watch Marriage Story off the recommendations here. But it couldn't look less like something I could get into. Plus I never seen anything with that Darth Vader dude that I like. That's a very limited amount of exposure tho

idk what all you've seen of Adam Driver, but he's personaly one of my favorite actors now, especially after Marriage Story. He was amazing in BlacKkKlansman, he was the best part of The Dead Don't Die, and he gave one of the best, if not THE best, performances of the year in Marriage Story.

For being about a "boring" topic like divorce, the film actually does a REALLY good job of keeping a good pace, and building suspense and tension all the way through. Even has some pretty genuinely funny moments sprinkled in as well.

It's easilly my second favorite movie of the year, and every movie in the top 10 are one's that I adored, so that's some of the highest praise I can give.

I didn't watch nearly as many but highlights for me were Midsommar, Parasite, Code 8, Uncut Gems, Endgame, Ad Astra and Once... Hollywood

Code 8 completely slipped by my radar somehow: I don't know anything about it, what's it about? A quick google search makes it look pretty sci-fi, and I love me some good sci-fi. That's probably my biggest disappintment of the year for films is it didn't seem like there was a ton of really good sci-fi; great year for indies and dramas/character studies though.

Joker ranked higher than The Lighthouse, crazy stuff. (They're the only two I've seen from the list and I loved The Lighthouse and hated Joker)

I loved them both, but Joker's definitely not a film for everyone, I feel like it's very much a love it or hate it kind of film. I just happen to be on the love it side lol.

I've only seen 11 movies from the list. I really haven't been the the theater much this year

Cats is a terrible movie; that being said, I had so much fun watching it. Like, it's bad, really, really bad, but it's like The Room in a sense where you just cant take your eyes off of the insanity that's on the screen.

I genuinely plan on buying Cats on DVD to have "Get fucked up with friends and make fun of Cats" parties.

just saw the art of self defense because you rated it highly here.

um... that was pretty dark.. it's like if zombieland took a freaky turn halfway through and turned into the walking dead or something.

It's super dark, but I absolutely loved it. It's definitely not a movie for everyone, but it's very much up my alley. Dark and gritty, while also having a good bit of (also dark) dry comedy.

I watched it on a whim in theaters, hadn't heard or seen anything about it, but it took me by surprise how much I fell in love with it. Amazing movie, and I hope more people see it.

I think Midsommar was the only 2019 movie I actually watched.

I enjyoed it, but I think I overhyped it for myself; I genuinely thought it might end up being one of my favorite movies, and while I still liked it a lot, it didn't quite make that bar.
