Or Final Fantasy XIV, which, as I understood it, just completely destroyed the original world/story when they re-launched it as version 2 or w/e.

They even had a whole marketing campaign around it. Basically, Final Fantasy XIV launched such a sorry, barebones mess that it went free-to-play for about 2 years so they could relaunch it. The original producer ended up leaving the company, or at the very least was reassigned elsewhere. Once it was ready, they made a trailer that was literally just two or three warring factions having a giant fight, then Bahamut summoning meteor to destroy the world. That was the perfect way to separate 1.0 with 2.0. (ARR).

No idea about the US, but in Canada the most they do is offer you a discount if you subscribe to their services. Mine is so far behind the times that they only offer you a $5 discount per service if you subscribe to multiple services. I only have internet (50Down/5Up), and my bill is roughly $94 a month.

It's interesting how ahead of the curve Netflix was. They bought up streaming rights to a bunch of shows, and saw where the bubble was going as a result. So, they pivoted away from other people's content and started making their own. It's been arguably successful for them.

Pretty much. Piracy was at an all time low because of how easily accessible content was, and for relatively cheap as well. Game piracy on PC had all but gone away as a result. Now it's come roaring back thanks to anti-consumer practices.

TL;DW: Sony apparently filed a patent for an AI Voice Assistant a'la Alexa a few months ago. They more recently filed a patent for a voice-activated search engine that deals with selling microtransactions from the game store. Just another way for these companies to make microtransactions a socially acceptable activity.

I was interviewing for a new position in my company. I was told that it wouldn't be immediate, and I'd have some flexibility in which if I didn't gel as I wanted in the new position, I could move back to my old position within the next month or so. Before I even give my answer to whether I'd accept the promotion, my current manager was already getting resumes for people to hire to replace me. The new position was a high-stress environment for marginally better pay. I'm already kind of flaky with my mental health, so I don't need any more stress in that regard.

Job Class system is the best, imo

Part of the reason why I like the game. The story isn't really anything to write home about, and I've never been impressed with the graphics or the soundtrack in it. I'm appreciating the game a lot more on the Gameboy Advance. The soundtrack sounds a lot more full then the Super Nintendo version, and I'm really digging the interpersonal relationships between characters.

The show provides the backbone for the games, as the games are functional sequels for the novels. The stories of the games are built from events in the books, but they aren't central to the game's immediate plot. They're more character fleshing than plot points.
