Yeah, I had one when it released but the only game I wanted to play was Odyssey and I finished it in 2 days. I ended up returning the system to Best buy, and since I had the buyers club thing, I just sold the game to someone for the price I paid for it. So it was a net zero cost.

Still not a ton of games I want to play, but, it's another portable system and could let me play skyrim/witcher etc on the go...which is nice. I plan on traveling this spring, so was looking for a good deal. Also there is Ultimate alliance out now which I do want to play, and I'm sure a few other games.

Been on the fence awhile, but I really wanna play ultimate alliance 3, and I wanna give witcher another try (even if I already own it on PC, perhaps I will like it more on switch).

I heard Skyrim controls on switch are pretty cool as well, and it plays well portably which would be cool.

Down for replaying Odyssey as well, and I'm sure there are a few other games, so seems worth it.

I may actually ditch my WiU at this point (along with that version of BoTW + Mario + mario maker etc), and just keep my original wii, since I like galaxy/galaxy 2, Dragon warrior swords and some other Wii games.

Probably can get at least $50 for the WiiU and games, which will drop the switch price effectively even lower (or pay for new games on the switch like ultimate alliance.

Also many people have said Diablo 3 is actually more fun on the switch....I own it and all DLC on the pc already, but...portable D3 + supposedly better might be worth picking up.

I think we should totally go social media on our elections, and basically have candidates start from grass roots local/areas, and move up through local elections, over the year prior to the main election.

Each candidate needs to provide a website that breaks down their beliefs/stances etc, shows their experience and who they are. Everyone gets to vote based on SS# and you end up with the people the country as a whole actually wanted.

Most votes win....end of story. No more representatives, no more states getting x votes etc....it's done on the popular vote totally at this point.

We don't need the out dated methods anymore, they are archaic and just put all the power in the very wealthy.

But can't that still happen? As others have said, you can change your party and vote for whoever to sabotage it. So, doesn't that make it pointless in certain cases like this one?

It is for this election, and probably for most.....but not neccesarily for all of them in the future.

Of course, since in general, republicans don't run another candidate if there is a republican in office, and demo's rarely do, it won't likely make any difference at all ever (since there is always a rep or dem pres in office).

So yeah, it really don't do much, and making the change in a state like Wash where it wasn't that way, basically only accomplished one thing. It now ensures anyone who wants to vote must register and that is now public knowledge.

Might not matter, but I am paranoid (not necesarrily wrong) that corporations/jobs that are heavily republican owned can/will use that to determine which employees to promote/fire etc. Could be wrong, but doubt I am.

Found a used one with:

Brand new nintendo switch still has box comes with pokemon shield, a case and a bunch of games
Divinity original sin 2
Witcher
Zelda breath of the wild
Daemon x machina
Sword art online fatal bullet complete edition
Dragon dogma dark arisen
Monster hunter
Fortnight
Smite
Warframe
Super kirby clash

Being sold for $315 (paying $320 so he comes to my place and sets it up so I can make sure it works etc).

Smite/fortnight/warframe are all free, but I figure the other games are worth at least $100 right now (if I resold). I'll keep Witcher at least for now (see if I like it better on the switch).

Sell most of the others (Since I already own them), and get marvel ultimate alliance 3 and a few other games for the switch:)

I rent a basement for $575 a month, so I have roomates but never see them (cause they are upstairs).

Was just talking to a friend who was like "people in their 20's can't afford to rent their own place anymore".

I literally found him an apartment in the bay area (1 block from bart) for $1000 a month within 2 minutes. It's only 300sq feet mind you, but since min wage there is $15 an hour, you can easily afford it.

Most places where apartments are $900+ have min wages of $13+ at this point which means about $2200 a month take home, or less then 50% needed to rent an apartment, still totally doable.

Not as easy as it was 20 years ago, but doable.

Wrong. You're only choosing which primary to vote in. You can declare Democrat, vote against your most-disliked Democrat in the Primary, then vote Independent, Republican, Anarchist, Red Chinese, Martian Overlord, whatever, in the main election.

And your vote is private. It seems that people are confusing being a Delegate to your party's state Nominating Committee with being a registered voter. Nominating Committees choose who goes on the ballot, voters vote for what's on the ballot. Votes are private. Nominations are public.

What's the problem?

Who you vote for is private, but at least in WA if you regester to vote in a primary, it's public that you did so.

Which could cause problems in many peoples lives but whatever, it won't in mine, so I need to just stop caring.

it reminds me of his first two albums that were more guitar/psychedelic rock oriented. He has gone in the direction of electronic pop music on the last two albums which I love but i still
prefer his guitar songs more.

this song is from his first album in like 2011 or something. Tomorrows Dust reminds me a lot of this one: https://youtu.be/PB2SYop7AaY

I just can't take that repetitive riff in this song. Liked the others, but the one at the start of the song, that comes back later again etc, seriously would give me a headache if I listed to it too much. Glad this wasn't the first song I heard.

They had a boomer poll recently, what % of boomer are you lol. It was so bad. I'm 50% boomer but because of the silly questions so are people in their 20's.

Questions like:

Have you ever had a landline
Have you ever played Bingo
Have you gone on a cruise
Have you had dinner at 4pm
etc.

I can't remember them all but about half of them were things I had done before I was 30.

I played bingo with friends/relatives in my 20's. I didn't go on a cruise till recently but TONS of young people do.

It is STILL cheaper to get internet through most providers if you bundle it with a landline.

And I mean if you have ever worked a non-traditional hour job, you probably had dinner at 4-5pm (before starting work, cause by the time lunch starts everything is closed) etc.

It was just so dumb, but so many people were rear-hurt because they were like 35 or 40 and being called boomers lol.

I know most people consider lying to just be normal and everyone should do it. I don't. I have lied, on purpose, by accident, and to myself, but don't make a habit of it, and I try and avoid it.

In order to vote at all on the primaries, I have to lie and declare myself a democrat (or in future elections possibly a republican), which I do not consider myself to be.

If I don't do that, I can't vote till the end.

To further that, my "lie" is then made public, stating to the world I am something which I am not, or do not consider myself to be.

I should be able to vote while being classified as undecided at least. STill only get 1 vote, so what difference would it make?

I had to write waaaay to many papers getting my masters degree but, I was able to do so very fast because....

I used templates (all formating etc done already, just had to enter in the info, references etc).

Based on what the paper's topic was, I would look up articles about said topic, and then find references that looked good, and write the paper around them (instead of searching for references for the topic as I wrote the paper) Saved tons of time.

Ran all my papers through a university spell/grammar check to ensure there were no errors (and proof read it afterwards as well).

I often re-used themes from previous classes/papers, meaning I didn't need to re-invent the whole paper, just re-word and focus it.

This allowed me to write many large (15+ page) papers in hours, often in 1 day (considering papers were due (at least 1, sometimes 3) every week), usually in just a few hours.

I pretty much always got an A on them, even the (god I hated them) team papers (I would literally go over every one else's submissions and ensure they flowed, had no errors etc, took 3x as long as doing it myself).

Graduating with a 3.97 was NOT easy, and honestly NOT worth it, but at the time I was a bit crazy about my grades.

As long as they don't prevent you from voting on any official elections there is nothing unconstitutional about it, different states have different rules.

GRRRRR.

I understand it's the way it is, and I just have to live with it, but it feels wrong to me. I am a US citizen. I have paid taxes my whole life, I should get a voice in who our elected officials are, and who is nominated for president of the US. I should not be shunted aside if I'm not willing to declare as a Dem or Rep until the final vote, only allowed to vote for the two people the parties decided should be my choice.

But whatever, it's reality, I just need to deal with it. It was already reality (this hasn't really changed anything), it just was a slap in the face basically, forcing me to declare in order to have any say at all.

It's funny but till recently you could pretty much play all physical games for free, and you can still do so, but with a more limited time.

Bestbuy had a gamepass that let you buy games for 20% off, and then you could sell them used (on facebook/craigs etc) for the full price after you had played it to death.

Gamestop still lets you buy used games and return them (Believe it's within a week, but MUCH longer around xmas), and they actually encourage you to do it. Many ex-gamestop employees do it regularly).

Even outside of that you can buy used and then resell it, often for the same price or within 5$ or so, playing the games as long as you like.

The bestbuy method let you actually get the games on launch day, but that is gone now.

So, it's still cheaper in many ways to buy physical games, then digital ones, even from steam. I'm just lazy (not rich) and I don't buy many games anymore (and pretty much only on big sales).

It is not accomplishing ANYTHING right now in my state, it may be different elsewhere.

Here though, ANYONE can declare DEm and then vote on the options. Even if there were Rep options, that would STILL make more sense for republicans tbh. There are none, so what is stopping all republicans for delcaring themselves Dem when voting (doesn't affect anything else) and then voting on the least popular candidate so no one gets the 15% they need?

Meanwhile it's made the voting process more complicated, and added new ways for votes not to count, while also allowing private info that was not available before, to be made available to anyone.......and in many cases forcing people who are not members of one party or the other to declare as such, while putting what they declared out there for others to see.

Just cause it's common elsewhere, doesn't mean it makes sense, or is a good change.

that system doesn't go far enough. Many -- if not most -- states require you to register as a member of a party to vote in that party's primaries.

If that was the case, I could understand (I'd still be upset). If you had to declare Dem or Rep and stick with it, in other words if you vote dem in the primaries, you have to vote dem in the final election, that might make some sense at least (Because you wouldn't be able to sabatoge the other side basically). So I agree with you, it doesn't go far enough (not that I would be happy if it did).

I do think you should be able to vote for both if you declare as unselected, you should have a say in who becomes president even if your not a Dem or Rep, and since it's a two party system right now, the only way to have a say is to vote for who the candidate is for each party.

I'm a moderate, I like things from both sides, and most importantly, I want both sides to work together not fight each other all the time. Should I have no say in who gets elected, or just a say once the choice has come down to the last 2 options?

There are many people like me out there, and it's not fair to force them to declare as either Dem or Rep, but whatever, ain't my system, don't gotta try and fix it.

Is it really that weird for the voting to decide a party's representative is members only?

It's not weird...IF it was actually acomplishing anything AND it was private, I wouldn't really have a problem with it.

But it's having no effect at all, and it's putting out private information for everyone to see. Meanwhile it's also causing people to have to declare for a party, even if they are somewhere inbetween them. Third party/moderate etc should be an option (And was considered but rejected).

You should be able to vote undeclared and still just vote once. You can declare as Dem now, vote for the least likely to win, and then vote rep during the main election....so it's not doing anything, except dividing people up more, and putting their choices out there for everyone to see.

i don't think we actually learned about that at my school

I took poly sci in college and i'm sure we covered it (in fact it was while getting my AA and I was the only student that actually asked questions and had a conversation with the teacher). I liked the class, of course that was decades ago, before I tried to make a difference politically and became so disillusioned.

But yeah, if you don't deal with something long enough, you forget about it, and change is change, it's new here. It may still not be that way in CA (I volunteered for poling places there most of my life, still have the pins).

Again, it matters to me because it's just another way to force everyone to choose one side or another, when there should be no sides, we should be working together to get things done, people with different opinions or beliefs, that try and find a middle ground, and hopefully a candidate that most can agree on.

That has not been the case my entire life.

PS. I got a 4.0 for both my AA and BA and a 3.97 GPA for my Masters. Sadly my memory blows at this point, so while I easily passed all the CSETS in CA to teach years ago, I cculdn't probably pass any besides the Math (and maybe science because so much is based on logic) at this point.

The issue with open primaries is that voters from the other side of the aisle can intentionally show up and vote for what they view as a loser candidate as an attempt to sabotage an upcoming election

They still can, they are not forcing you to declare rep or dem permananetly, it has no effect on future elections, it only affects this one. So you can declare Dem, and then vote for whatever candidate you want, and then later vote for trump.

They could have simply just restricted the vote to 1 candidate (so you can't vote for a republican choice and dem choice, and accomplished the same thing.

Without taking away individuals privacy, or making things more complicated, but whatever, doubt it matters much in the big picture, just....was shocking

Yeah, I know that, and these changes are meant for future elections not just this one.

I am curious if you can get a list of people who request your voter information. At least you should be able to know who is looking that information up.

This just hits close to home for me because I already feel like both parties are accomplishing nothing because they are fighting each other so much, and we actually need a candidate that appeals to everyone (middle of the road) and instead of focusing on bi-partisan issues, focuses on things we can all agree on (like building our infrastructure) so we at least get something done.

I get that it's already been like this elsewhere, but it wasn't here, and it's a sudden change I didn't hear about at all until now.

Shrug, it's just different, and even more polarizing in my opinion. Also has ramifications as far as privacy, but I guess nobody else is objecting or minds.

I don't even see how it's actually acomplishing anything, siice you can declare as demo now, and vote rep later, meaning all republicans can declare as demo's and vote for the least likely demo to win, and then vote for trump later.

That might be different if there were multiple choices for republican candidate, but there is not.
