Because, outside of casual conversation, it's just plain awkward and unprofessional. Additionally, using plural verbs to refer to a single subject adds ambiguity.

When AP or Reuters start doing it regularly, the awkwardness will probably pass.

I never said to scream at anyone for not finishing their plate. I just said that eating all of the food you ordered or cooked isn't going to make you fat, because you can always stop eating the food and store it for later.

Sounds like an unhealthy mindset. Life's too short to eat something you dislike just because you'd be "wasting" a dime.

Missing the point, dude. Did your parents scream at you about "wasting money" when you didn't finish your plate? It's extremely damaging. I hope you don't do that your kids. You spent $10 on the pizza regardless of whether or not you eat the crust. You need to get over this if you want to have a healthy life.

Eating more food than you want just because you're "wasting money" otherwise sounds pretty fat/unhealthy.

I love the crusts. Love it on pizza and sandwiches. It's a pretty poor flavor to calorie ratio though.

If they can go home they should though, I don't see why they would want to stay here if the classes are all online. That's just my personal take on the matter.

Do you understand that it's an infection risk if all of these students go from the US (which is a coronavirus hotbed right now) back to hundreds of different home countries? The virus does not give a damn that a student is international; it'll infect them all the same.

to be fair they fixed a lot of stuff with Platinum, but I still think the game was pretty bad. imo, its the worst Pokemon game that I've played (skipped Black/White2 and Sun/Moon)

I didn't even finish Diamond (couldn't get past Fantina and her damn Mismagius), so I didn't have any interest in Platinum.

Have you ever played the "third" version of any of the Pokmon games? They don't have all the Pokmon, but have revamped story lines and new content usually.

McDonalds got sued for this years ago and stopped doing it. the only issue with it is they called it a "value" meal when the "deal" ended up not being a better value. Ultimately, who cares? Just buy them separately.

In my experience, the employees will be "helpful" and ring up the separate items as a combo. Then if you try to correct it, they get an attitude and act like you're a Karen.

Pretty much how I feel but with less intense hatred of the live action movies and more towards the actress.

Taco Bell once had the solution to this quandary: a crunchy taco wrapped in a soft taco filled with cheese. They also had one with the filler layer being refried beans. It was truly a magical time.

It's going to be a bad idea to go to potentially crowded places for a long time*.

I did get my ears pierced in high school. I hated it so much that I took them out after a while (maybe a few months) and let them seal back up. I'll never get any piercing ever again.

As long as he got it done at a hygienic tattoo parlor, I'm fine with it. It's good to make mistakes and learn from them at that age.

Just a little bit. I often feel a little light headed after running errands, but it goes away. The biggest problem is that I have to set my glasses further down on my nose so that they don't fog up. All minor inconveniences in the grand scheme of things.

Spinach and Artichoke. Usually has some kind of cheese in it. Meant to be heated up and not to be confused with Spinach dip (which is tasty in its own way).

In my experience:

My (single parent) mother was always too busy working to cook dinner. Most of my meals growing up were fast food, microwaved, or just ready-to-eat junk food. I never learned to cook from her. I did take it upon myself to learn to cook as a teenager, but I'm still not great at it.

I imagine a lot of people have similar experiences. Their parent(s) were too busy working/too tired to cook, so there was never a culture of home cooked meals to inherit. Cooking also just sucks? You get hot and sweaty standing over the stove, you have to constantly stay busy to clean as you go or deal with a huge mess at the end, and the food might come out bland without a lot of trial and error. Why go through all that effort when you can pay like five bucks more per person to get something that you know will taste decent and have zero cleanup?

**Ocarina of Time Sheik has an extremely flat chest/non-curvy frame and a different skin tone and eye color from Zelda. Obviously, the game doesn't say "Sheik has a penis" or anything, but considering that the illusion was good enough to fool Ganondorf for seven years, I personally think there were significant physical changes as part of the disguise.

In TTYD specifically, I don't believe so. Vivian definitely isn't trans in the NTSC version, and even in the Japanese version, she's only called male once, and the context makes it very likely it's just an insult that has nothing to do with gender.

Getting really tired of this line of argument that a character's transgender status is only valid if it's stated with absolute certainty. Also, it's more than once that she's called a boy.

This is the approach I take. I'd rather have one regular soda a day than three or four diet drinks because diet tastes like ass. The artificial sweeteners have a disgusting aftertaste that clings to the inside of your mouth.

I'm willing to sacrifice 150 calories so I can drink something that tastes good. I legitimately do not understand how people think that diet sodas taste better than regular aside from just "acquiring a taste for it" (drinking it until they get used to it). Some taste okay (Diet Mountain Dew and Sprite Zero are decent), but some are absolutely revolting (I refuse to associate with Diet Dr. Pepper drinkers).

Also, yeah, it's just not good for your teeth to drink three or four sodas, regular or diet, a day. One of my friends does that and wonders why her teeth are so sensitive/chip so often.

Yes, but that's because every time I go to the grocery store, some obese boomer without a mask is charging down the aisle the wrong way. My mask protects others, but these selfish assholes don't care about anyone but themselves.

I'm a healthy young man, but I could still get sick if I catch it. If I transmit it to my immunocompromised mother or my octogenarian grandmother, it could very likely kill them. You bet your ass I'm scared of that.

Wow, that's going to be a disaster, but I don't know what the best solution would be. There are thousands of kids across the country who haven't had educational instruction in months. Not every household has access to the Internet, a laptop, or even the technical knowledge to access distance learning (unless you think a second grader is capable of doing all that with zero parental supervision).

This epidemic has exposed how badly fractured the infrastructure of our social safety nets is. We need to start having conversations about expanding Internet access, regulating it like a utility, and ensuring that everyone has home access to it.

Had a relationship implode over this (among other things) once. I'm a light sleeper, I like it cold in the room, and I need at least a sheet and comforter to get cozy. She tossed and turned throughout the night, snored like a bear, and always wanted to snuggle despite being a human furnace.

I remember once being so desperate for sleep that I set up a blow up mattress in the living room and tried to go to sleep there. The psycho followed me and grabbed onto me/wouldn't let me sleep alone. It made me absolutely miserable.

I love Taco Bell, so it would be better for my physical fitness if it disappeared forever. Also, they're dead to me since they discontinued their taco salad anyway.

I was in college at the time, so I got a lot of mileage out of Streetpass. I only finished a few puzzles though.

I'd say that the Legacy of Kain series gives it a run for its money in terms of complexity.

I thought Dane Cook was hilarious as a teenager. I actually rewatched one of his specials recently and it still made me chuckle and smile. Some of the jokes come off a bit... idk, harsher? It wasn't so bad that I couldn't enjoy myself.

Looking back at Mencia though, I don't know how that was enthralling to the nation. I still get that stupid parody of "Shake Ya Ass" from his TV show stuck in my head though.

Imagine the noise of all that stuff being in sleep mode though.
