You get to choose if it's an amiibo.

If it's a camper who showed up randomly, they will randomly choose who they will replace. However, the moment you see the name that they've chosen, you can close the game and reopen (if you proceed with the dialogue box, the game will autosave, and you will be locked into them only offering to boot the neighbor that they said they'd replace).

Those are presumably for Amiibo cards, which retain some collector's value.

The Raymond auctions are just to have some stranger allow him to move from their village into your village (since he has no amiibo). There is some odd online culture that revolves around Raymond and making him wear Maid Costumes.

DS > 8 > Super > DD > 64 > Wii

Didn't bother with SC or 7.

DS is the peak of the series for obvious reasons.
8 had a solid online and a huge amount of tracks.
Super has a nice arcade racing feel, and is different from most of the others.
DD and 64 were both good in their time, but keep getting more outdated as time goes by.
Wii was a bit of a shit show, and luckily they fixed everything wrong with it in future installments.

Sword/Shield brought back so many fans who had abandoned the series for years. I'm not sure it would have been the blowout some of you think it would have. I saw so many people in their 30s who hadn't touched the series since gen 1, gen 2, or gen 3, who had a Switch now, and loved it. It was actually quite common.

I'm sure the ARMS character will be fun to use. But much like Terry and Byleth before them, nobody cares about the character, so the SSBU hype train has been dying, outside of people who enjoy the gameplay of the series.

Surely there has to be somebody in the 2nd pass that would gather as much hype as Banjo and Hero did for the western and eastern world? Why not lead with that, unless they are planning to reveal them on the same day as the "E3 presentation" when they reveal and release the ARMS character.

It just seems a bit risky to go three characters in a row of generally perceived duds.

Comics are way more nerdy. I know so many regular people of both genders and all walks of life who have Pop figures, but hardly know many with comics.

I can't really relate much to #4, so it wouldn't entice my current circumstances.

#3 feels like the safe and easy one for a quarantine. But #2 and #1 are way too tempting to take the easy way out.

#2 is very interesting, but my biggest concern is the lack of light. We get to have a fantasy lover...but we can never actually see them? That is the big rub for this choice.

#1 however, is the big risk big reward. I'm a pretty laid back guy, and I've dabbled in both psychology and law. So if anything, I'd be the guy to relate to a psychopath. Not only that, but I do workout daily, so I'd feel confident in my ability to evade a psychopath, and my skills at preparing a bubble that would alert me if they tried to attack me in my sleep.

All things considered, I'd have to pick #1. The reward is too great.

My storage ended April with 3 Tuna, 3 Dab, 9 Blue Marlin, and 3 Tarantula (though I already have the Tarantula model).

Was hoping to get a 4th Tuna since I have 1 on display in my house, but I couldn't stop getting Blue Marlins...

It's necessary for live-action non-English, so of course for that.

But for anything else, it throws off the timing of the scenes, both for dramatic moments and comedic moments, by being able to see the information before the delivery. It muddles the director's intent a bit in key sequences, so I try to avoid it when possible.

Alternatively, you can look at it another way, that if some of your favorite villagers have the basic houses, it is more rare, because you had incredible RNG to get them, as opposed to all the people who just use amiibo or Nook Miles tickets. And there is no way to get those houses back either.

I feel like I played and enjoyed Sunshine more at the time (and haven't played it since), but Odyssey felt like the better game, though my old jaded self might not have liked it nearly as much. Even still, I'd rank Odyssey higher than Sunshine, even subjectively (since art can't be ranked objectively no matter what anyone tells you).

Both are very fun games, and top tier titles of the 3D platformer genre.

Mario 64 is better than them both, though I'm sure most would agree with that statement.

What's the exact timeline for when someone moves out and when someone new moves in? I just want to make sure I get it right, since I've yet to have someone move.

Day 1 - They ask to move, and you say Yes.
Day 2 - They are in boxes.
Day 3 - They are gone.

That much I inferred from your post. So on Day 3, you can go to Mystery Islands tio find new villagers, as well as another town that has someone in boxes? If you don't do either of those things, will someone random automatically move in on Day 4? Or will nobody come in unless you make them (such as the 2 above methods, as well as campsite) Also, is the house itself gone when someone moves out? And if not, how does that affect the 5 default houses with boring furniture?

Had the violin in my shop today (140K). Most expensive item I've seen, topping the Arcade machines.

It is very cool though. Unlike most instruments, it sounds good no matter what note randomly comes up, and you can hold A to make the notes longer.

I thought it would be pretty close, but I think gamefaqs isn't as into Smash as it used to be.

Ultimate ended up bringing Smash back to its competitive roots of Melee, which favors a more hardcore, but limited fanbase. All the casual votes the series got from years of Brawl and Sm4sh aren't there now due to the amount of time needed to become good at the game again.

I got Leif again today as my visitor. Prior to today, I was worried that he would go stale after several visits. Turns out he went stale after 1 visit, because he is selling the exact same 3 bushes and 6 flowers as the first time he came. Either that is bad RNG, or the game thinks you will be so hard up on cash all the time that you'll be happy to buy the same stuff each time he comes. Nice to know there is potential for a totally worthless visitor day...
