In a press conference this morning, presumably to counter the peaceful pictures from the night before, Seattle Police claimed, without evidence, that protesters had fortified CHAZ and were conducting "citizen checkpoints". This is nonsense, verified by countless visitors today.

They claimed they had "credible" reports of businesses being extorted for money while in the Autonomous Zone. Also nonsense, confirmed by several businesses, many of who said they were happy to have protesters in their community. But that didn't stop the story spreading.

Back in 2008, I remember people on this board saying gay marriage would never happen. Now it's mainstream. Maybe stop hanging out with bigots, or at least correct them when they say something bigoted. Change comes gradually until it doesn't.

You said those are idealistic, but that doesn't even address the question.

Gay marriage has been made legal, but that doesn't mean it has been accepted with open arms. In my area it's pretty common for people to make offensive jokes about LGBT people then follow it up with "But it's 2020. I guess that's okay now".

This shows that people are aware of the changing world, but deep-seated thoughts take time to shift. I don't expect widespread acceptance to occur for another generation or two.

Well, I feel like I'm starting to readjust. A week ago, I couldn't finish a 3x5 on squats @185lbs. Finished 4x5 @205lbs today with ease. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to get back above 300.

Martha McCallum (I realize she isn't listed) just had an interview with a former NY police commissioner. He was asked about the situation in Buffalo and vehemently defended the officers. She didn't push back or question his stance any further. How could anyone actually defend those actions?

Her show is pretty bad about this. I just saw a segment where the guest said that the main problem is the absence of black fathers and broken families, not law enforcement. More of the pro-cop agenda.
