Deku_Link 05/31/20 8:09:49 PM #31	Choco posted... yeah anything before gen 4 is honestly unplayable which is really sad considering gen 6 onwards is also unplayable I dunno, in my case I hadn't played and beat a Pokemon game since the first 2 gens, and I recently bought Ultra Sun to give the series another try. And the jump for me is pretty crazy. Especially since I was replaying Crystal after many years of not playing a main series Pokemon game. Plus, I don't care about the competitive side. Yeah I was referring to Gen 2 for now. Gakk86 posted... IVs are set when you catch a pokemon. Chances are they suck. They really only matter in competitive. EVs you gain every time you beat a pokemon in battle, and boost your stats based on what EVs you gain. Every other pokemon gives you a certain EV when you beat them. They matter mostly in competitive, and thus not really for you. The only time they really matter is when you spend a lot of time grinding early game, because early game pokemon give speed EVs more than anything else and that helps the least. Other than that using a pokemon in playthroughs gives you a spread of EVs and that's fine. Ah I see.
