In Serial Experiments Lain there's a character called Arisu which is localized as Alice.
The difference between the Japanese is Kana vs Katakana and the addition of an e () before the other half of the name.
vs actually doing some googling and and show the same results for Alice.
Wish I knew better Japanese. Feels like Eris would have been a better translation, but that has a different spelling. Apparently the literal translation is Aerith.

Hiroyuki Ito was the director known for introducing ATB starting in Final Fantasy IV and he was also both the director of Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy XII. I'm really wondering how much of FFXII's development was done under Squaresoft. What happened to Ito anyways? He hasn't made a game since.

If I remember it was the game in development while the merger happened. You can see the changes to the series starting here with the introduction of Vaan and Panello as awful leads.

The made some of the best games of all time.

They went defunct and were bought out by their competitor, Enix almost two decades ago and one of the best game series, Final Fantasy was dragged through the mud. One of the best game series of the 90s, was basically turned into one of the worst of the 2010s, basically becoming known for nothing more but mobile and mmorpg cash grabs.

Discovery? I Can buy that. Picard? I can't buy that. It's very obvious that Picard takes place in the same universe that TOS/TNG/VOY/DS9/ENT took place in. It was obvious in the first episode. Picard was turning into an angry old man filled with PTSD by the time that Nemesis rolled around. Not to mention that he canonically, he was more of a diplomat than anything (and why he's so pissed off at the Federation in Picard).

There is no good science fiction anymore. The closest I can think of when it comes to recent science fiction is The Expanse, and that's based on a book so it has book-style narrative. The entirety of Season 4 was a bottle episode.
Also 10 episode seasons are generally too short to do any long-term character development. The Lost in Space reboot is also passable.

Like I said, Season 1 of Discovery? Absolutely horrible. Gets somewhat passable in Season 2, but it's clear they're trying to "update" some things like the design of the Enterprise. People are argunig that the story if Picard is pretty mediocre and that it's serialzed drama instead of episodic. Television has changed since the 80s and 90s, so that's to be expected. I'm not a fan of the scenes at the Reclamation center Borg Cube tho.

I thought that the last episode of Picard (aired today) was fucking awesome, and that they're doing a great job at bridging the time between Nemesis and Star Trek Online, but people seem to be overly critical of the series for reasons I just simply don't understand. These people seemingly exist just to suck the energy from actual fans of the series, or have some backwards thought that Star Trek has to be their Star Trek (really apparent with TNG fans). I just want to watch good science fiction television set in a universe I've known for the past 20 years of my life.

Everyone seems overly ranting about how the show is too much of a melodrama or some bullshit, and couldn't care less about the lore of the universe, or how it links to other places in canon.

Maybe someone should try and fix some of the problems on why some people have mental illness. I don't understand why and how I ended up differently, just like I don't understand why I cannot find any real happiness in my life, but I know it was never because the government didn't provide when I needed them. They always did.

With a single system youd be able to actually decide yourself which doctors to see.

Under the current system I can:

• Choose my doctor
• Choose my plan (HMO, PPO, ect.)
• Choose no plan (Due to the mandate being repealed - I still technically get taxed for it in Massachusetts)
• Choose a state funded plan
• Choose a federal funded plan
• Choose another private plan (one that my work doesn't provide)
• None of this has any mandatory requirements. I'm not required to visit my doctor. My current plan requires me to have a PCP, however I don't think the other plan that my work provides requires a PCP.
