I never once had an issue where my RAM itself was causing crashes or stuttering from max capacity, but I only gamed at 1080p then. At 1440p now, I recommend 32GB. I suspect that the biggest thing holding me back before was the 6600. Going from 4 cores to 8 is insane, let alone the hyperthreading. That RX 480 could still pack a respectable punch though. Some games surprised me and didn't perform much better (escape from tarkov, warhammer 2) but others doubled or tripled.
