Fastest is Nidoking? Yes, by a few seconds; thanks to RNG manip'ing DVs/IVs. Squirtle was tied for the world record before manips were found.

Easiest? Not quite. Squirtle with Ice Beam & Dig is stupid easy. I've done it before but now I keep trying to hoard my TMs for Stadium and... I lose interest, I have attention span problems. (depression, shrug)

Nidoking just plows through the early game for free though thanks to horn attack and thrash. Then in the mid to late game you just one shot everything. You can take a couple extra hours to fight some extra trainer battles so money isn't as tight and to make fights that are difficult in the speedrun version basically free. I don't see how being able to one shot everything doesn't make it easier. I understand your point about them being comparable in speed, but for a normal playthough using speedrunning strats Nido seems way easier and just a bit faster.

A few hours is more like it. Even with just emulating the speedrun strats that don't require skill you should be able to beat it in 3 to 4 hours

Can't really call the gameplay boring when you're not playing on the best difficulty. You would get bodied if you mindlessly mashed square to win on Hard mode.

Doesn't the game not let you do a true hard mode playthrough, though. When I finished normal mode it seemed my only option to play hard mode was to revisit specific chapters retaining my level and items. That concept doesn't really appeal to me, I would rather have a clean slate

Hmm no increased hit detection on raptor boost which was it's only major flaw as the move frequently whiffs for no seemingly good reason. I guess it hits people dashing back better with its extended distance which is cool. It didn't really need a launch angle adjustment and knockback reduction imo since it already auto combos into plenty of stuff on hit, but I guess this will allow for more auto combos at a wider range of percents which is great.

The other buffs he got sound juicy, all put together it may be better than fixing turnaround. Really depends on the specifics of it though and it probably is still worse than just fixing turnaround

Actually I think I can tell from the horrible google translation that it wasn't the turnaround. Looks like a bunch of stupid worthless stuff except I think a raptor boost buff which is good since the move previously didn't function properly

cool, well in that case Im sure Krillin surpassed first form Frieza. Imperfect Cell before his absorption spree was still just slightly below Kami-Merged Piccolo, who is leagues ahead of even 100% Frieza (Piccolo at the time is slightly stronger than 17, but does not have the infinite stamina)

If Krillin is able to dance with Imperfect Cell even for a little while, and not get squashed, hes definitely past first form Frieza in that case.

With the original bill, there was a proposal for caps and means testing rather than a blanket 600. However, most states run their unemployment services on an archaic platform and running those calculations and setting up the system to give accurate amounts would have cost more than overpaying people.

I don't doubt this is true, if you're only looking at the short term. In the long run, though, wouldn't they save a substantial amount by giving accurate amounts in future situations by having updated platforms? I guess they wouldn't have been able to justify the time it would take to do so, though, given the pressure that was on them to distribute aid

That's the "whatever state gives" part of my response. No one at all is making a flat 1200 in addition to the state unemployment amount.

I'm making 600 + Massachusetts maximum which is 823 a week. So I'm making over 1200, but not 1200 plus what MA gives me.

And to get that, I made a good deal more when I was working than I do laid off. No one who was making minimum wage is suddenly pulling in 60k no matter how you slice it.

I'm not sure why you think this to be honest. It's a well known fact that around 70% of people on unemployment are making significantly more now than when they were working.

That's still peanuts. That barely covers rent here in San Francisco.

I mean these benefits should probably have been calculated based on the average cost of living of each state or something like that. 50k is more than enough in most places; San Francisco is an outlier. I would go so far as to say the 600/wk is far too generous in most places.

Well I assume many people will feel they have to go back if asked to or risk being fired. Idk if fearing Covid is considered a valid reason, I guess if you have a condition that puts you at higher risk or you have children or live with an elderly person.

As for Sonic, I dont encounter much of them. The last one I played was Aiden who pretty much ran away the whole match lmao.

When I'm playing hot I tend to do fine against his Sonic, my strategy was to preemptively place a hitbox when I thought he might come in with one of the B moves. The main problem with Sonic online is the B moves are basically unreactable and so you have to rely on prediction. You also can't allow them to get a stock lead or it's probably game over since they no longer have to interact and can easily avoid doing so. Aiden never actually went that far, though - he would always at least interact in some capacity.

I use tap jump for immediate jump uair with some characters.

It definitely has it's uses and some people manage to make good use of it, but sadly for most people it's just a potential hindrance. It usually doesn't matter to me except when I come back to the game after a long break.

Yeah even I get screwed up by tap jump, especially from playing Ultimate since I also turn it off. There are plenty of times when I unintentionally burn my double jump or jump when trying to up tilt, but you get used to it. I really wish they would make a mod to map tilts to the c-stick as well, I'm spoiled by Ultimate as I got used to throwing out Falcon f-tilt in neutral a lot. Something else I'm spoiled by is the ability in Ultimate to cancel your dash with basically anything, including jabs and tilts which is incredibly useful. You can cancel dash in Melee by pressing down, with shield, or with a jump (then wavedash) though, and it effectively amounts to the same thing (with the exception of shield which is useful for different reasons)

I might try this later. Never really got into melee though. Too technical. But I saw hbox play it and the game runs really well online. Pretty cool.

Yeah Melee is one of the hardest games ever, I wouldn't worry about being bad at it. I'm not even that good, I know a lot about the game but actually putting into practice is hard. It's really fun when I'm playing good and it all comes together, though.

Also, this is the best time to get into Melee so I hope you do if you're interested.

The one game we played was fine even with some minor lag spikes of sorts. The issue isnt the ping, its strictly the FPS and it freezes when it gets too low. I think the setting for CPU override can be changed until I basically play at 30fps because I kind of did that earlier. It felt okay, but thats half of the native rate so sounds janky if its even possible? Not worth it.

I think that might only work if we both did the CPU override, assuming it could even work at all. But yeah the game would be half speed lol

What kind is it? I think you need at least an i5 core to run Melee, which is what I have. The game is CPU intensive. I'd suggest messing with the settings, they talk about Low Latency Mode, maximizing out power management mode, turning V-Sync off, etc

Nah, just trying to play the game at consistent FPS was an issue. Maybe I could have changed some settings, but it was not fun.

You don't have access to a half way decent laptop? I run it on a medicore laptop and can run it very well

Davy I'm not sure if you just have too high expectations, I'm kinda used to the lag I guess. I go into this knowing the online is trash, like Nightmarish says online and offline are two different games. As long as it's playable I just try to adapt to it (for example, I almost always fish for jab locks when I know something can knock down)
